Translator's Preface

If only there were signs in the world that said “Do you want to live freely? Ask me how” (maybe, of course, they exist, but have not yet come across our eyes in our area), then all people would be divided into five approximately equal groups. Some would wear these badges in order to be able to give advice even to those who don’t ask. Others would put them on so they could glare contemptuously at those who asked. Still others would pursue the “iconists,” bombarding them with questions. A fourth would secretly idolize the “lucky” badge holders and would be afraid not only to ask a question, but even to approach them, and a fifth...

And still others would not even know about the existence of the first four groups, or even the icons themselves. Although no, having noticed such a badge, some of them would gladly pin it on their bag or clothes, but just like that - excuse the involuntary pun - “for fun”, in order to “have a good laugh.”

And all because they are the ones who “live freely.” They, unlike representatives of the first four categories, are not pressured by the desire to dominate others, nor by the desire to appear better than they really are, nor by the desire for endless self-improvement, nor by fears and complexes. They simply live, being in the flow of life. And after all, we all managed to live like this in childhood and adolescence, but then most of us gave in under the pressure of life and lost this talent.

Returning to the fifth group is quite easy. The author of this book did it himself and is ready to help us achieve the same result. You just need to stop burdening yourself and those around you and step onto the Ideal Spiritual Path, learning to pronounce the sacred modern mantra: Fuck It.

It’s much easier for our English-speaking friends to do this, because their little Fuck It simply has to be more universal and multi-hued, and our “great and mighty” is ready to provide a separate phrase of varying degrees of censorship for any of these shades. We may “don’t give a damn”, “don’t care about the lantern” or “don’t care about the lamp”, we can “don’t give a damn”, “don’t care”, “forget about everything”...

Therefore, we decided to simply not limit your freedom and leave Fuck It without translation where the meaning, power and shades of this expression will be explained (“Foreword” and “Prelude”). And then replace it with our dear, super-universal “Wouldn’t it all go to ...” (in short, “send to ...”), which you, if desired and necessary, can replace with your favorite and most suitable for each of the described cases with a magical expression of the same content.

Many remember the catchphrases from the Roshchinsky play (and then the Moscow Art Theater performance, and then the beloved film) “Old New Year”: “Rest, Sing.” This phrase also perfectly conveys the essence of the Fuck It philosophy itself and suggests how one should approach life, and this book, and the jokes, and the good-natured lies of the author, and even his advice.

In a word, “rest, Sing.” Relax and get as much pleasure from reading this book as the author got from writing it, and your humble servant got from working on the translation... And then everything stated below will help you subsequently get much more pleasure from life.

And if you are offended by the title of the book or outraged by the ideas presented in it, then just send it to... both the author and everyone who worked on the Russian edition. We don’t feel sorry, because even in this case, the Fuck It philosophy still worked, and you, by sending us all away, have already taken the first step along the Ideal Spiritual Path...

Preface

Fuck It - I'm just going to write whatever comes to mind... I wanted to give this book the best introduction possible, because it deserves it. I had already begun to flirt intellectually about this topic, and then suddenly I stopped and realized what I was doing: a preface to a book with such a cheeky and arrogant title as Fuck It. So what is there to think about here?

The keys to liberation are universal and very simple: disconnect from all the stories you tell yourself about life and who you are or should become, and you will immediately feel more omnipotent, unimpeded and majestic, as any divine should. , an omnipotent being who knows no obstacles.

To achieve this, you need a willingness to relax and give a damn about everything. And not just once, but again and again, because the part of your consciousness that is addicted to these stories and identifies with them is a sly fox, and it will cling to its habits with all its might.

To give up on everything, you need to give your consciousness a command, and one with which it can identify and which will awaken a spontaneous feeling of freedom. And what team could be better than Fuck It? At the moment of uttering these vulgarly expressive words, you become one with all the rebels who have ever lived in this world, with all the great liberators of this world, with every outcast who has ever gone against the grain... you find freedom... and in this freedom of yours you gain natural greatness.

John and I are kindred spirits... I am inspired by him and his brilliant book Fuck It... I consider it a very important contribution to human history.

"Send everything to..."(English) F**k It): understand that everything that worries us, causes suffering, worry, stress, does not have much significance for the overall state of affairs - and let go of the problems.

Therapy(English) therapy): a process that causes healing, improvement of a person, no matter what it relates to - body, mind or soul. Literally, therapy means “to make one whole again.”

ordinary(English) unimaginative): devoid of fantasy, imagination, creativity.

Enjoy(English) enjoy): now sit back and enjoy a book that will entertain and heal, as well as change and inspire you. You won't need to write under any circumstances. No work. Just sit back and let the words and principles do their magic.

Translator's Preface

The words “F**k It” on the cover of the original edition of the book may be shocking. But don’t be afraid: this is not the same as what is written in Russian letters on the fence. The English expression is much more capacious and in some ways more decent. It can be heard, for example, in a film not intended for the “18+” category. And at the same time, this is a strong expression, like any obscene speech.

Why does the author need such a strong expression? And then that there is no other way to cope with a life full of stress and negative emotions. Can you smile when you find yourself in a difficult or unpleasant situation? How about swearing? That's it.

You will say: the English “F**k It” can be translated into Russian in different ways. And what kind of domestic analogue will have the same power? Yes, anyone. You can send to... send to hell and his grandmother, point in the right direction - there is no limit to perfection. All you need to do is shake out unnecessary thoughts, stop obsessing, let go of problems and be ready to accept new and unusual options.

This expression, spoken out loud, opens up your inner reserves. After all, everything you need is hidden deep within you. John Parkin truly discovered the elementary path to complete happiness. I personally felt the magic of these words, the same magic that John writes about. Money began to appear on its own; unnecessary work “fell off”, and necessary and interesting work appeared. It was as if I looked at the world with fresh eyes - and saw beauty in all things and events. My weight stabilized without dieting or deprivation, and the weather improved without the slightest effort on my part.

Here is life in the spirit of “And everything went to…”: inner harmony, fulfillment of desires, joy from every moment lived and anticipation of the next.

In this book you will find it all - both inner harmony and magic. The method of achievement will seem unusual at first, but don’t be shy, send everything to... and realize your desires.

I also have a desire - quite strong, but not what is called “I sleep and see.” I want to sit at the foot of the Stromboli volcano and practice qigong under the guidance of John Parkin and his wife Gaia. My desire is strong; but if it doesn’t come true, I won’t be upset and won’t stop enjoying life in the spirit of “And everything went to…”.

Preface

I started one of my latest trainings with a statement: dear listeners, I am not going to tell you anything. And relax.

“What, you won’t tell us anything at all? This is exactly what we came for.”

“What exactly did you come for?”

“Well, it’s not like we have any specific expectations, but we’d like to feel something.”

“Isn’t what we’re doing now something?”

“No, it’s nothing at all.”

“So there’s nothing going on here?”

“No, it’s happening, but it’s NOT THAT!”

And then we began to discuss what this very “THAT” is.

* * *

How much time in life do we spend searching for THE SAME and thinking that the next “it” is again not THAT at all?

How much do we suffer and worry about this?

And what exactly is this, exactly that?

Nobody knows, because THAT is exactly what we never get.

THAT always turns out to be somewhere else, and it looks completely different...

Maybe, of course, this is exactly what happens to someone else, but definitely not to us.

This is the very thing - something that we may get to if we try a little harder, if we become a little better, if we learn more about something, explore something more deeply and achieve enlightenment at the end of our quest. Think about it, huh? Only a few people in our world (seemingly) achieve enlightenment, but thousands and thousands believe that there is no normal life without it...

I mean, tell me, do any of you have this very thing?

* * *

When we reconvened as a group after lunch break, I asked everyone present:

“So, if THAT is not something that exists somewhere else or someone else has, then what is all this?” And she waved her hand around us and our room.

Half the group responded with a laugh: “THE SAME!”

* * *

Everything is very simple. This is all THAT. I am writing these words. You read them. This is THAT. You got up and poured yourself a glass of water - that's IT. We woke up in the morning - THAT, went to the toilet - THAT, sat down to have breakfast (“Why don’t we have bread in the house again?”) - that’s all THE SAME.

THE SAME – it’s so simple that we don’t even notice it.

You don’t need to look for anything anywhere, you happy creatures, because you are literally sitting on THAT SAME (especially when you go to the toilet).

* * *

In this book we will look at how you can send to... this or that “NOT THAT” in order to feel THAT SAME happiness. But I will tell you the true secret of Therapy based on the “Send everything to...” principle: it makes it possible to see that THAT SAME is already with us and that it has not disappeared from us from the beginning.

Gaia

We wrote this book in prison

We have been meaning to write this book for a long time. But just a couple of weeks ago, a suitable image was finally found. Thanks to this image, everything suddenly fell into place and began to work. It was an image prisons. In one sense or another, most of us are constantly in a kind of prison. And some sit in the most literal sense. (If you are reading these lines in a real prison, then: “Hello, I hope you like the book. God willing, it will become at least some kind of entertainment for you and, perhaps, even help you in life.”)

Yes, most of us, one way or another, are sitting behind bars, from which we can get out if we “send everything to…”. (Excuse me, but once again I want to appeal to those who are in a real prison. I’m talking here about escaping from a metaphorical prison, and not from a real one. Our book is not strong in advice on how to escape from a real one. Although At some point we will tell you how to make a dig with a plastic fork. So look in the text about plastic forks.)

It was the prison analogy that came to our minds a couple of weeks ago.

And now we are writing to you from prison. You see, it started snowing a few days ago. And it was very beautiful. And we were very happy. On the second day of the snowfall, schools were closed, our boys stayed at home and were also very happy. And then, after it snowed even more, it started to snow even more, although there was already plenty of snow. In the end we were completely covered in snow. And not in the sense of “Oh, how lovely, we are covered in snow,” but in the sense of “Help, our jeep can’t get out even with chains on the wheels!” (We live in Italy, near Urbino, on a lonely hill half a mile from the nearest road.)

You, of course, will say that you can leave the house on foot if you put on hefty boots and all sorts of winter equipment. No, gentlemen. In our case it is Very thick layer of snow. This is snow that has blocked the front door right under the peephole, making it difficult to even leave the house. This is snow and wind, blowing the house almost to the ridge of the roof. And this damn one 1
The word used in the original bloody(bloody), and it is to this word that the author gives his explanation. – Note translation

2
It is an informal expression of shock (sometimes used to enhance an emotional impression) in the UK. As the Oxford English Dictionary explains, bloody- not blasphemy, as many people think. This expression was born in the 17th century, as the sons of aristocrats were called ( young bloods), who had a tendency to get drunk and rowdy. Well, while we're on the subject, I'll say that this book was written by me (a Brit) both for my British compatriots and for my American relatives (imagine, I have American relatives)... And for the latter, we periodically insert notes and explanations. – Note auto.

The snow keeps falling and falling. We were told that the rescuers would not reach us before the next 24 hours, unless by helicopter. And in general, they are not going to come to us, because first they will save those who really need to be saved. That is, we are stuck, we thought. For a long time.

Most of us are in a kind of prison, and this book can help us get out of there. And now we are sitting in prison, only around us there are no high walls with barbed wire on top, watchtowers or guards with machine guns. The bars around us are made from a whole sea of snowflakes that have covered our doors and windows. This prison is more like Alcatraz than Wandsworth, 3
Wandsworth ( Wandsworth) is a category B prison (whatever that means) in southwest London. – Note auto. Alcatraz ( Alcatraz) is an island in San Francisco Bay, on which a protective fort was first built, and then a maximum security prison for dangerous criminals and those who made daring attempts to escape from previous places of detention. This is a men's prison, the largest in all of Western Europe. – Note translation.

Only with deep snow and complete silence around instead of the raging waters of San Francisco Bay.

For the first time in seven years of living in these places, we were literally locked up. It is clear that not in prison, but “sort of” in prison. In short, this means that we are now living in our chosen “metaphor.”

Holy shit, the lights went out for about five minutes, but now everything came back on... Luckily, I managed to click “Save” a moment before that.

So this whole prison metaphor turned out to be perfectly suitable to describe the possibilities of Therapy according to the “Send everything to...” principle. This snowfall was, as they say, “bulls-eye” (which is confirmed by our current adventures in lockdown).

In the seven years since we wrote the very first book, “Send Everything to...: The Paradoxical Path to Success and Prosperity,” 4
The book was first published in Russian by the Eksmo publishing house in 2009 and has been regularly republished since then. – Note translation

A lot of things happened. The book sold well (to date it has been translated into twenty-two languages and has already sold more than a quarter of a million copies) and - thanks to the phenomenal work of our publishing house Hay House– is still increasing its sales pace. Well, we got the opportunity to personally teach the principle of “Send everything to...” to hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world.

Seven years ago we knew for sure that our principles worked for the British, because it was in the UK that we lived and taught for many years. We knew exactly what specific difficulties the British had to face, and we knew exactly what difficulties were best dealt with by sending them to... But when the book was published, our biggest shock was to learn that not only the British were completely sick of stress, and they are sick of literally everyone, all over the planet.

Not only the British cannot forget about everything and relax, but also many other Europeans, for example, the Italians (which surprised us a lot). It's not just the British who are hesitant to say what they think, but the Americans too (again, to our surprise). Not only the Britons are squeezed and crushed, but also people from quite pleasant civilized countries such as Holland and Denmark.

Believe it or not, there are Irish people in the world who have lost the ability to enjoy life; the French who lost their joie de vivre;5
Cheerfulness. – Note translation

Italians who are unable to express their emotions; uptight Australians (by God!); Californians who have lost faith in themselves; Russians exhausted to the limit... And this list can be continued indefinitely.

We found out that (yes, of course, we are all different, and we always liked to notice these differences) there is much more that unites us than divides us. We joked and laughed more with no one than with the Germans. No one has cried about a painful problem as much as the Australians. With no one did they open their souls as much as with the Russians.

Most of us are in a kind of prison, and this book can help us get out of there.

We developed and improved the “Send Everything to...” Therapy process during our weekly trainings. These principles work for everyone. We have noticed that it is relatively easy for all of us, anywhere in the world, to discover the treasure trove of amazing resources within ourselves, heal deep wounds, come out of our shells and shine in the sun again. We are all able to feel how the power of life begins to pulsate inside again, and with the help of the principles of “Send everything to...”, find freedom - wherever we are and whatever we do. The point is to see: yes, we can be free. And this begins with the understanding that today we have reached a point where we are either really not free, or we simply do not feel any freedom.

Sometimes the feeling of prison is obvious, oppressive and painful, as if you were doomed to solitary confinement and locked in a dark, damp and smelly prison. In such cases, staying in prison becomes almost unbearable.

For other people, the feeling of prison is less obvious; life seems bearable, but they also constantly feel that something is not right in it. You can only get rid of this feeling by looking at the prison walls and getting beyond them.

Still others think that they don’t have any problems, that everything is just fine, but then some small nonsense happens, some button is pressed inside, and in a matter of moments they fall to pieces. They were in prison, but they just didn’t want to notice it, because realizing this fact was too painful.

We developed and improved the “Send Everything to...” Therapy process during our weekly trainings. These principles work for everyone.

And still others sincerely believe that everything is fine with them, that everything around them is simply wonderful, that living in the world is a great happiness, that there simply cannot be a better life than theirs. And sometimes they turn out to be completely right. If you are from this group, you can find in our book explanations for your feelings, as well as tips on how to maintain this state of mind. If anything, think of it as a kind of insurance policy.

Nevertheless, most of us are still in prison in one sense or another. And that's okay. This is life... And sometimes death. But mostly it’s life.

The process of gaining freedom (and then spreading that freedom around you) is just one exciting part of a larger game. And the specific method of gaining freedom is called “Send everything to...” Therapy.

Until now, only we, John and Gaia, could teach you the “Send Everything to...” Therapy in our trainings. But now we've got it all down on paper so you can use our method no matter where you live or what's going on at the moment in your life. And, frankly, we are happy as elephants.

We have worked with people who have come from all over the world and are in all types of these “prison states.” And it turned out that the ideas on which the psychotherapeutic technique “Send everything to...” is based suits them all. We have witnessed first-hand amazing, inspiring, breathtaking transformations, and have received countless emails from people who have experienced the amazing changes of our Send It All to... Therapy.

Oh well, now we need to go out and get some firewood, because if the power goes out during the night, we'll have to go downstairs and sleep next to the fireplace. Brrr.

Part 1
Consider the walls of our prison
And we will understand why you need to say “And everything went to…”

Chapter 1
What is a prison?
The prison has a right to exist

The purpose of prison is to protect society from dangerous individuals, re-educate these individuals, or simply punish. All these factors make the existence of prisons in our society meaningful.

And your prison may well become the meaning of life and existence you have found in this society.

I want to say that in childhood this meaning does not bother us too much. At least we are not consciously searching for it. Everything around is simple There is, and that's it. As children, we have no need to see meaning in the things around us, try to behave in accordance with any meaning, or look for it in the great plane of existence. And thank God. Yes, children, of course, are often interested in all sorts of “why” and “how”.

"Why is the sky blue?"

"Ask Dad."

“Why does the sun rise and set?”

"Ask Dad."

“Why does Tommy have more computer games than me?”

"Ask Dad."

"Where the babies come from?"

"Ask Mom."

But they don’t bother with questions like the ones we ask ourselves. “Why do I exist in this world?”, “For what exactly am I ruining my soul every day at this job?”, “Who needs my decency?”... And all that stuff. At some point, we stop being interested in the world around us (for example, why there is a sun and a moon in the sky) and begin to ask questions about ourselves and our place in this very world.

And from time to time we come across the utter horror of realizing our meaninglessness on the scale of this gigantic universe, indifferent to us. Suddenly we realize that the brief flash we call “life” is only eighty years out of the five hundred thousand years of human existence and the five (or so) billion years of the pandemonium of this whole world. Suddenly you realize that you are one of seven billion people inhabiting a planet that is just a drop of water in the huge lake of our solar system, which is just a drop of water in the ocean of our galaxy, which, in turn, is no bigger than the splash pool in the back the courtyard of a house located in a country that is a gigantic universal Everything; and a tiny particle of which is our tiny planet called Earth.

We become “meaning-seeking machines” and desperately try to find it in meaningless actions.

And when a tiny piece of this reality appears to our eyes - a tiny corner of a dusty room peeked through a keyhole - we cannot really understand what kind of room it is and what is in it. Indeed, if we suddenly see the whole picture and understand what it means, our own head may not be able to stand it and will shatter into pieces...

So, when faced with the smallest fragments of awareness of our absolute insignificance, we fall into panic. And this panic rolls over us like a wave, and we even completely forget that panic is panic, and we live in this state most of our lives. And this panic transforms into the most idiotic and senseless ways of searching for meaning. Just as male dogs in heat try to copulate with the legs of their owners and their guests, with lampposts, fire hydrants, with benches and cats that happen to be “at hand,” so we rape things, trying to extract meaning from them.

Just as there are sex machines, we become “meaning-seeking machines” and desperately try to find it in the meaningless work we do, in useless relationships, in countless purchases of things (which inevitably migrate from the store to the trash heap). We look for meaning in the deities that we ourselves invent, in the rules of behavior that we set for ourselves and force ourselves to follow, in the images that we draw for ourselves, in the stories we tell... And so on and so forth until we let's come close to the coffin board and leave... We'll go nowhere without understanding what the essence of the matter is, because it didn't exist in the first place.

Sorry, but I had to speak out.

We are funny and absurd. And not at all because all our lives, panicking about the lack of meaning in EVERYTHING, we are constantly looking for meaning IN ANYTHING... There is even something charming in this. But because the very things that we load with all the great meanings turn against us and bring us a lot of pain. After all, their lifespan is not that long. We become attached to them. They are being taken away from us. We are suffering. These are the principles of human existence.

Let's build a complete chain of events that make up a person's life: we suddenly realize the complete meaninglessness of our life and begin to wonder what it all means; we try to find meaning in the things around us; we become attached to these things; they are taken away from us; we suffer; we begin to wonder what it all means; we try to find meaning in some other things around us; we become attached to these things; they are taken away from us; we suffer; we begin to wonder what it all means; we try to find meaning in some third things around us; we become attached to these things; they are taken away from us; we suffer; we begin to wonder what it all means. That is, human life consists of certain completed repeating cycles.

That's why I like to use repetition so much in the music I write: it reminds me of the fun of these endless cycles of life. Repeat is built into human DNA itself, which, you know, is very similar to banana DNA. Basically, you and I are bananas.

And what's the point of all this?

What, do you still need some fucking sense?

Well, now we are sitting here, smiling, and therefore we will refrain from nihilistic chatter. We'll even give you different ideas as to what it all means. But what is more important for us is to understand that the search for meaning, which most people are constantly engaged in, is simply an eccentric, entertaining and even somewhat enjoyable way to spend time. Yes, fun. The most important thing is to see that many of us are actually sitting in a self-made prison, attached to things that now limit our freedom.

Now let’s try to return from the picture of cosmic latitude to the banal little things of everyday life (and preferably smoothly enough so as not to suffer from motion sickness, not to get decompression sickness and not to burn in the dense layers of the atmosphere) and try to understand what is the main problem for most of us.

Here it is: we constantly worry about things that, even in the most partial way, MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and we spend so much time and energy worrying that we then have neither time nor energy for the THINGS THAT OBVIOUSLY IMPORTANT ( unless, of course, you fall into globalism, nihilism and empty philosophy).

We are afraid of being late for a meeting, but we forget to take our children to school. We are afraid of gaining an extra kilogram, but on the street we do not notice our brothers in dire need around us. We are afraid of the appearance of wrinkles, but we do not notice how our Earth is becoming covered with cracks as a result of global climate change. We are looking for gods for ourselves and behind this search for God we do not notice the miracle called life. We carry the burden of the past, worry about the future and do not notice the present.

So, once we find ourselves in this prison of meaning, we have to really let go of... everything that doesn't matter that much, and focus on the things that really matter (or at least seem so). It's all about the ability to look at yourself from the outside, which is a fundamental element of the “Send Everything to...” Therapy.

That's what prison is. And that's why our Therapy can help.

Although no, having noticed such a badge, some of them would gladly pin it on their bag or clothes, but so - excuse the involuntary pun - “for fun”, in order to “have a good laugh.”

Below is a list of names. If I've forgotten someone, it's obviously for one of two reasons: a) because I have a terrible memory or b) because your contribution isn't as impressive as you thought.

I would like to express my most important gratitude to my wonderful wife Gaia. We started our Fuck It Weeks at The Hill That Breathes three years ago, and much of what is written in this book grew out of what we experienced together during those weeks and in our daily lives. Thank you Gaia for everything.

Well, now the list. Thanks for helping us do all of this (in alphabetical order, in case any questions arise):

Prelude

Test: Say something Fuck It right now

By saying Fuck It, you stop holding on to things that usually bring you pain.

By saying Fuck It, you surrender to the flow of life, that is, you stop doing what you don’t want, and finally do what you always wanted, stop listening to others and listen to yourself.

By saying Fuck It, you perform a spiritual act of the highest order: you free yourself, give up everything, stop resisting and, relaxing, return to the natural flow of life itself (otherwise known as Tao, God, etc.).

By saying Fuck It, you stop worrying (in general), give up desires (many), and ultimately become damn happy, feeling like yourself in the current moment in time (if you're lucky).

So before we throw ourselves hand in hand into the pool of wisdom, Fuck It style, try doing it yourself. Tell Fuck It about something. It could be something minor (go to the refrigerator and eat that cheesecake) or something quite serious (call the lazy pig you call your partner and send him away).

Say Fuck It about anything and feel the freedom and relief it will bring you. Multiply that feeling by ten, imagine feeling that way most of the time, and get an idea of what you're getting yourself into.

And now, finally, before the jump, let’s SCREAM together...

Fuuuuucccckkkk Iiiiitttt!

Message from the author

Of course, this entire book is a message from the author. But here the message caravan sends a motorcyclist ahead to meet you and prepare for the arrival of the main message.

So, the motorcyclist takes off his helmet (oooh, mommies!). And giggles. Once he pulls himself together, he will explain to you why he is laughing.

The message will often come to you in a humorous format: in this form, things are better absorbed and digested. As the famous witch guru of the 1960s said. Mary Poppins, “A spoonful of sugar helps you take any medicine.” Especially when the spoonful of medicine/sugar you are about to swallow takes on the taste of what you want: for Michael it was strawberries, and for Mary Poppins herself it was “umm… rum punch.”

So, choose your taste, and I will try to please you.

The point is that the whole message is a message of frivolity. That is, the medicine itself consists of 100% sugar (and, naturally, additive E with some number indicating the flavoring you have chosen).

Our life consists of things that are important to us. Our value system is just a set of things that we have chosen as significant for ourselves (or imposed by “training and upbringing”). And the things that matter to us are those that we take very seriously.

When we say Fuck It (and we tend to say these words when things that matter to us suddenly pop up on their bellies), we realize that something that was important to us doesn't mean that much. In other words, as a result of some unfavorable circumstances, we stop attaching importance to something that we usually took very seriously.

Meaningful things are serious. What doesn't matter is the land of laughter and lightness.

Now your brain is probably buzzing and darting around like a fly teased by the smell of rotting meat in a cramped closet. Realizing the possibility that something important may turn out to be unimportant can be quite mind-blowing. But most of us, having made such a discovery, also feel an irresistible aroma of freedom.

Why is saying Fuck It a spiritual act?

When we say Fuck It about something that really doesn't mean much to us, we are truly performing a spiritual act. Fuck It is the ideal Western form of expression for Eastern spiritual ideas that allow us to free ourselves, give up and let go of our value system (get rid of our fixations).

Of course, until the second coming (do you also love this expression?) we can argue about the true meaning of the word “spiritual”. In a broad sense, it is usually defined as something intangible, embodied in any non-form or any non-kind. But I don’t completely agree with this either. I can experience “spiritual” feelings from the most material and mundane things. So let's not drive ourselves crazy trying to give a real definition... suffice it to say that we all think of the same thing when we say the word "spiritual." And as I know from my own experience, whenever we manage to deeply relax and let everything go, we open ourselves to the spiritual world.

By talking about something that Fuck It, you move from tension and fixation to lightness and freedom. All philosophical systems, all religions, all spiritual teachings promise us the same thing - freedom.

The trouble is that this promise is extremely difficult to fulfill.

In fact, any philosophical system that can fulfill this promise can be considered the highest and ideal philosophical system... welcome to Fuck It philosophy.

The problem with most of us living in the Western world (stressed, tense, filled with fears and the desire to control everything around us) is that we can only jump into a more relaxed state thanks to something with such a strong character, which is distinguished by the expression "Fuck It".

Another added benefit is the fact that this you don't have to do anything from the following;

♦ pray;

♦ perform ritual chants;

♦ meditate;

♦ wear sandals;

♦ sing songs with an acoustic guitar;

♦ develop confidence in yourself that you are right and everyone else is wrong;

♦ kill people;

♦ eat legumes;

♦ wear orange;

♦ force yourself to stop doing what you like;

♦ follow the rules;

♦ pretending to be happy when you are not;

♦ say “Amen” if you don’t want to.
