Initially, the New Disk company had nothing to do with games, and was called completely differently. Until 1997, the company Kominfo (later called New Disk) was engaged in various boring but useful things: interactive guides, educational programs, illustrated reference books, translators, video applications and other software.

After 1997, with a new name, the company actively entered the race in the video game market, and immediately managed to take a leading position.
