Don’t be afraid to show your imagination, because it’s so nice to come up with something new.
Due to the fact that chicken goes well with many foods, chicken salads are very diverse. You can find both spicy recipes and very original sweet ones, for example with pineapples. They are sweet so they contrast really well with the chicken and it makes for a very unique dish but very tasty. Another great addition is canned corn. Like canned pineapple, it is sweet and juicy, which goes very well with meat. Such recipes are more to the taste of women and children.
But you can make the dish spicy: for this you add garlic, hot pepper and even horseradish. Men like these recipes the most. Among all the recipes, the layered salad with horseradish and potatoes deserves special attention, which is perfect for the holiday table. This is a very successful recipe, although perhaps not everyone will like cooking it, because you need to grate the horseradish yourself.
Another great addition is pickled onions. Very simple, but it dramatically changes the taste. Not every recipe calls for pickling onions, but you can experiment at home. To do this, chop the onion, add sugar, vinegar and a little warm water. Let sit for about 30 minutes, squeeze out and rinse with water a little. That's all - the pickled onions are ready. And if you don’t have time to marinate, then you don’t have to wash the onions. It usually goes well in those salads that contain cheese, eggs and mayonnaise.
Mushrooms are a great addition to chicken salads. You can use fried, pickled or canned. It all depends on the chosen recipe. It’s also good to add cheese: hard, melted, moldy. As mentioned, poultry is very versatile, so don't be afraid to try new ingredients.

Such salads are also good because absolutely any dressing is suitable for them: from classic mayonnaise to vegetable oil.
Of course, the most delicious sauce is mayonnaise, to which you can add squeezed garlic, black pepper, herbs, vinegar or mustard. But such a salad will be very high in calories. And store-bought mayonnaise is not always healthy. In this case, we recommend preparing a dressing based on vegetable oil.
You can simply sprinkle with vegetable oil (olive, sunflower or whatever you like), or you can mix it with vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire or soy sauce, and black pepper. You can also prepare Caesar dressing from grated boiled yolks and olive oil. This is a matter of imagination and taste.
Well, if with vegetable oil it seems to you that it will turn out very simple, but you still don’t want mayonnaise, then replace it with sour cream, yogurt or even kefir. You can also add other ingredients to them: garlic, herbs, lemon juice, etc.

How to cook meat?

You can put chicken prepared in any way: boiled, fried, stewed, baked, smoked.
If you are on a diet or want to make a diet salad, then boil the fillet in salted water. Not only is it low in calories, but it is also the easiest option. You can add bay leaf and black pepper to the water for taste, and do not pour out the broth, but use it in preparing other dishes.
It will be very tasty to simmer the chicken in a thick-walled pan with black pepper and onions or fry it in a frying pan. Chicken fillet should be fried or stewed whole, not cut into pieces.
Recipes with smoked chicken deserve special attention. Buy only fresh meat to make the dish tasty and healthy.


Holiday options

Chicken salads are prepared for any occasion: birthday, New Year, March 8, etc. There are special requirements for holiday recipes: it must not only be tasty, but also beautiful. In such cases, you should pay attention to puff salads. Recipes vary, but those with layers of different colors look especially impressive, for example, a layer of boiled carrots, beets, green peas or cucumber. You can also put the ingredients in the shape of a snowman and sprinkle grated egg whites on top if it’s New Year’s, or in the shape of a heart if it’s Valentine’s Day. There are a lot of options. In addition, you can simply decorate it with something, for example, tomatoes cut into the shape of a flower, or put cherries around the edges. And, as an option, you can put it on lettuce leaves - this is also very beautiful and original.

Who isn't familiar with this salad yet? It seems to me that everyone loves it very much and always prepares it especially for holiday tables, and when vegetables are in season. Of course, Caesar is a divine miracle, and especially its secret is in the right sauce. Today I would like to show you the simplest, easiest and most delicious inexpensive option for cooking with chicken. Perhaps you cook it with shrimp, bacon or ham? share your recipes in the comments. I offer the traditional classic version, of course with chicken and without mayonnaise.

We will need:

  • chicken breast - 1 pc.
  • lettuce leaves
  • cheese - 100 g
  • bread - 2 slices
  • mustard - 1 tbsp
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • vinegar and olive oil to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Cooking method:

1. Wash the lettuce leaves well in water, then dry them with dry napkins to remove excess moisture. Make croutons from pieces of bread or loaf, cut the bread into arbitrary cubes and fry them in the oven, that is, dry them. You can use ready-made crackers from the store.

3. Now fry the resulting aromatic pieces in a frying pan with vegetable oil.

4. In order to get a real Caesar, you need to prepare the sauce, you can buy a store-bought version, or again choose an option that suits your budget. Crush the garlic or pass it through a press, then add mustard, stir, add 4-5 tbsp olive oil. l and vinegar essence 0.5 tsp. The aromatic sauce is ready, move it aside and let it sit.

5. Now add the egg yolk and beat the mixture with a whisk.

In this dish, all the ingredients seem to melt in your mouth, they come together into one juicy shade that you will really like. A light traditional chicken salad with mushrooms will be any addition to any celebration or holiday, and it takes very little time to prepare, about 5 minutes, if you boil the chicken in advance. Other options without mushrooms will be discussed below in the article, because not everyone likes mushrooms.

Interesting! It turns out this option is called “Jewish”, yeah... but I didn’t even know.

We will need:

  • egg - 3 pcs.
  • cheese - 240 g
  • canned champignons - 240 g
  • boiled chicken meat - 350 g
  • mayonnaise - 80-100 g
  • green onions (or onions - 1 pc.) - 10 pcs.
  • salt and pepper to taste


Cooking method:

1. Cut all ingredients in your usual way. It is best to chop chicken into small cubes. By the way, don’t grate the cheese, but cut it into cubes, you can’t imagine how tasty it is. Everything usually rubs, try not to rub, but to cut. Canned or pickled mushrooms, if you don’t have them cut, chop them with a knife into thin slices like in this picture. Well, that’s how quickly and almost everything is ready.


2. All that remains is to season with mayonnaise, you can use sour cream or yogurt. Next, add salt.

Recipe for a delicious salad with chicken, pineapple and cheese

Well, this is an option, it seems to me that absolutely all of Russia knows, it is done especially on New Year’s Eve, or for example on March 8th. I classify it as one of the fastest, most successful and most delicious proven recipes for any special occasion. What is your opinion about him?

Interesting! To make it beautiful, I put it in tartlets! Imagine how great it looks, and besides, it is very convenient for guests. How do you decorate?

We will need:

  • chicken fillet – 400 g
  • canned pineapples - 400 g or 1 can
  • cheese - 140 g
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • walnuts – 60 g
  • chicken egg - 4 pcs.
  • salt and pepper, herbs to taste
  • mayonnaise
  • tartlets

Cooking method:

1. Cut all the ingredients into even cubes, these are boiled eggs, boiled chicken meat and pineapples. Perhaps the pineapples in the store-bought jar are already cut this way, which means it’s even better, you’ll have to work less with a knife.


2. It is best to choose hard cheese; grate it on a fine or coarse grater as desired. Chop the nuts into pieces with a kitchen knife. Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper.

You can make these same products a little differently, that is, without tartlets, and layer the same version with chicken and pineapples.

  • smoked leg - 1 pc.
  • chicken egg - 4 pcs.
  • fresh cucumber - 4 pcs.
  • canned corn - 1 can
  • mayonnaise and salt

Cooking method:

1. Cut the smoked chicken meat into long strips and place at the very bottom of a bowl or oval dish, brush with a mesh of mayonnaise. Take fresh young cucumbers and rinse thoroughly in running water, remove the skin with pimples from them with a knife. Chop them into long pieces too, you can grate them on a coarse grater. This option has a name, some say “Marseille”, others “Lady’s whim”, I think that it doesn’t matter what the name is, the main thing is that it is nutritious and all the products combine well with each other. This type can be prepared every day and on holidays.

We will need:

  • Chicken fillet – 600 g
  • Hard cheese - 200 g
  • Chicken eggs - 6 pcs
  • Prunes – 100 g
  • Korean carrots – 400 g
  • Walnuts -40 g
  • Mayonnaise - 100 g
  • Garlic, allspice, salt, herbs - to taste

Cooking method:

1. Boil chicken fillet and eggs and cool. Next, cut the chicken into cubes. And separate the whites from the yolks of the eggs. Separately, grate the whites, then the yolks, and then the cheese. Add finely chopped garlic to mayonnaise. Wash the prunes well, pour boiling water over them, and chop into pieces.


2. Wash the walnuts well under running water and dry them with paper napkins. Place them in a blender bowl and grind. Next, mix it with prepared Korean carrots.


3. Now start placing all the prepared ingredients on a plate. The first layer is chopped prunes - mayonnaise - chicken meat - mayonnaise - carrots with nuts - mayonnaise - grated cheese and mayonnaise - grated egg whites and mayonnaise.


4. The very last layer is the yolks, sprinkle them all over the entire dish along the entire perimeter and surface, garnish with parsley. Place in the refrigerator for an hour, and then serve in a good mood. Wow, it turned out beautiful.

  • chicken meat - 200 g
  • pineapple – 200 g
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • cheese - 150 g
  • mayonnaise to taste

Cooking method:

1. To make it unique, take bowls and grease the bottom of each with mayonnaise, then lay out a layer of diced apples, you can sprinkle them with a little lemon juice if they are very sweet.

I made this option for the New Year, so it is decorated according to the New Year, with candles made from tangerine peels, but you can decorate it to your taste and in your own way, using a little imagination, or surf the Internet. This option is very practical, affordable and easy to prepare.


We will need:

  • Chicken breast - 2 pcs. (about 600 gr.)
  • Fresh cucumbers -4 pcs.
  • Hard cheese - 400 g
  • Eggs - 6-7 pcs.
  • Prunes - 200 g
  • Apple - 2 pcs.
  • Walnuts and pine nuts - 100 g each
  • Mayonnaise

For decoration:

  • Pomegranate seeds - optional
  • Canned corn
  • Black olives
  • Bell pepper (colored) or tangerine peel
  • Greenery

Cooking method:

1. It is very important to make it in a puff form, so all the ingredients are best soaked. First, boil the chicken and eggs. Rinse cucumbers, prunes and apples well. You can pour boiling water over the prunes and let them stand for 10 minutes to steam.

2. Now start cutting food.

3. Add boiled chicken meat, cut into cubes. Sprinkle with herbs, season with mayonnaise, and salt to taste. Have a pleasant and juicy aroma!

Important! You can season with vegetable oil with a drop of lemon juice for acidity. And to add originality, you can use homemade or store-bought crackers.


Interesting salad with Korean carrots and bell peppers

For true gourmets of spice, I suggest this option with Korean carrots. In principle, all the ingredients in it can be taken by eye; you don’t have to adhere to specific correct proportions.

We will need:

  • chicken fillet - 400 g
  • Bulgarian pepper- 2 pcs
  • mayonnaise - to taste
  • carrots in Korean— 400 g

Cooking method:

Chicken salad with canned beans

We will need:

  • Chicken breast - 300 g.
  • Canned mushrooms – 150 g.
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.
  • Walnuts - 25 g.
  • Canned beans - 1 bank
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Cheese - 50 g.
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt

Cooking method:

1. Boil the chicken breast in salted water until tender. Cool, cut into cubes.

Important! If you don’t have a mold, you can take a regular plastic bottle and cut it.

Smoked chicken salad with grapes

A very unexpected economy option with chicken and grapes, it will give you notes and memories of summer. It's best to take seedless grapes, it's best to take smoked chicken, well... as a last resort can be boiled.

This simultaneously produces a familiar taste and with new notes. Still, chicken meat gives the salad its own “sound.” In addition, it is the chicken that will be closest to Olivier’s original recipe for hazel grouse.

We don’t have hazel grouse, but we have everything you need to make a delicious chicken Olivier salad.

You will need:

  • chicken meat (breast or thighs without bone) - 500 grams,
  • potatoes - 4-5 medium-sized pieces,
  • green peas - 1 can,
  • eggs - 4-5 pieces,
  • carrots - 2 pieces,
  • fresh (or salted) cucumbers - 4 medium-sized pieces or 2 large ones.
  • mayonnaise - 100 grams,
  • salt and pepper to taste,
  • greens optional.

Preparation:

1. The chicken must be boiled in advance until cooked. If you are not using breast meat, but, for example, meat from thighs or legs, then separate the meat from the bones and skin. Cut it into small cubes.

2. Boil potatoes for salad. It can be cooked either in its uniform or already peeled. Choose according to your taste, but be sure to cool it before adding it to the salad.

3. Boil the eggs hard and cut them into small cubes. Add to a bowl or saucepan with potatoes and chicken.

4. Open the green peas and drain the liquid. Place the peas in the salad bowl too.

5. Carrots must be cooked in advance as well. Mix all the ingredients, leaving only a few nuts for decoration, season the dish with salt and pepper, and season the Sherlock salad with mayonnaise. Place the remaining nuts on top nicely.
