192.168 10.10 setting up a Rostelecom router setting a password. How to access the Rostelecom modem settings: instructions and problems. What to do if you can’t log into the router

Having signed a contract for the provision of Internet services by Rostelecom, you receive a router for rent. It connects to the Internet via a provider cable and distributes it to all connected devices (computers, tablets, smartphones). To make changes to the settings, for example, to change the Wi-Fi point password, you will need to go to the Rostelecom router panel.

Login to the admin panel

Entering the settings of any router is described in the following video:

Authorization in the panel (web interface) of the router, where all the device settings are collected, is done through the address bar of the Opera browser, Yandex Browser, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and other Internet browsers. To access the settings of any router, including those from Rostelecom, a computer, laptop or other device must be connected to the local network via a LAN cable or Wi-Fi access point.

By default, routers use one of the addresses:

  • 192.168.0.1;
  • 192.168.1.1.

Please note that the address contains only numbers and it is advisable to enter it manually or completely copy it from the site. Sometimes, when typing characters, search engines provide hints, and following them you are redirected to the search engine page, and not to the login page. In this case, the request changes 1 (units) to l (English small letter L).

If it is changed, Rostelecom could indicate it in the service agreement. If the login and password are set by default, you can look them up in the documentation for the router or on the back of the case, usually at the bottom.

Standard combinations that will help you enter the settings of the Rostelecom router:

  1. admin/empty.
  2. admin/admin.
  3. admin/password.
  4. admin/1234.
  5. admin/12345.

The second option is used by default in 90% of cases.

After entering correctly, you will be taken to the main menu.

Login problems

The main problems can be divided into two:

  1. The address cannot open the login page to the admin panel of the router.
  2. I can’t log into the web interface of the Rostelecom router because the login and password do not match.

There are several ways to solve problems:

  1. Make sure that the device is connected to the local network in which the Wi-Fi router is located. For example, you won’t be able to access the router’s admin panel from a smartphone using mobile data. Be sure to connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. View from your computer via the command line what IP address is assigned to the router. Once you find out this IP, log in through it.
  3. Find an agreement that specifies the changed login and password, or find out this information from a sheet of paper pasted on the router body.
  4. Reset the router to factory settings using the Reset button on the case and log in using the default address, login and password.

If the first and third solution methods require attentiveness, then the second and fourth require some knowledge. Let's look at them in more detail.

How to view the router's IP address through a computer?

How to find outIP address, there is a visual video:

To do this, use the command line:

  1. Right-click Start and select “Command Prompt (Admin).”
  2. Paste the command ipconfig /all and press Enter.

  1. Pay attention to the line “Default Gateway”.

  1. The specified address is assigned to the router, so log in to the panel through it.

If you enter this address, make sure that the 1s are not replaced with ls and that the devices are on the same local network.

Reset to factory settings (Hard Reset)

This is a radical way to log into the router, because all settings, including the changed MAC address, which is sometimes assigned by the provider over the real MAC address of the router, are erased. The Wi-Fi point is also reset. Everything will need to be restored again. Use this procedure only as a last resort.

To reset to factory defaults:

  1. Find the small Reset or (RST) button on your router. It can also be signed by RST/WPS.
  2. Press it for 5-10 seconds until the device restarts (this will be indicated by the changing LED indication).

  1. If the button is recessed into the housing for greater safety, break off the sharp end of a toothpick or straighten a paper clip and hold Reset with it.
  2. After rebooting the router, try logging into the settings using the standard address, login and password of the Rostelecom device.

Completion

You can enter the settings of the Rostelecom Wi-Fi router through the address bar of the browser using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, after entering your login and password. If this data has not been changed, then it can be viewed from the back of the router. The changed IP address can be found through the command line from the computer.

192.168.1.1 – login to the router, login and password admin

This article is for those who want to get into the settings of their router. This article can be considered a universal guide, since most routers use the default address 192.168.1.1. Regardless of what we want to do, look at some parameter or change some setting on the router, first of all we need to log into it. That is, enter the administrator login and password. Usually routers are accessible by this IP address or .

Setting up routers from the most popular and widespread manufacturers such as TP-Link, D-Link, ASUS, Tenda, Netis is generally approximately the same. As a last resort, you can look at the standard address from the factory. You can find it on the bottom of the case or in the computer's network connection properties. We will discuss this further below.

If you have no idea what we are talking about, what all these addresses and names are for, try reading the spoiler. For those who understand everything, skip the spoiler :).

Spoiler: In order for us to have the Internet, usually every house has a small box connected to the power grid. Antennas and several connectors or, as they say, ports can come out of it for connecting other devices (computer, laptop, TV, refrigerator, etc.) to the Internet. This box is called a router or router. A router is similar to a modern smartphone: inside there is a processor, permanent and temporary memory, and even its own operating system. Have you thought about Android or iOS? No, and not even Windows. Typically, manufacturers create their systems using GNU Linux as a basis, adding the necessary functionality. The router system is often called firmware. A router is the first device in your home that accesses the Internet. It then in turn distributes it to the rest of your devices. Each device on the network has its own unique address. For a router this is usually 192.168.1.1. To access the router settings, you must go through authorization - this means entering the administrator login and password. Most often, the login is admin and the password is admin. Below is a table with the passwords of the main manufacturers.

Some companies set different login addresses and other logins and authorization passwords in routers. So, on Xiaomi devices the factory address is 192.168.31.1, and on routers from Mikrotik it is 192.168.88.1. Huawei also uses a different address from others – 192.168.100.1. If you don’t know the address or it has been changed to another one that does not correspond to the standard factory one, no problem. In the article we will tell you how to access the page of any router, modem or anything else.

How to access 192.168.1.1?

Take your device, which is already connected to the router via a network cable or Wi-Fi. Anything will do: computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, refrigerator, etc. Open any installed browser in it. Then in the line to enter the site address, enter 192.168.1.1 or thus http://192.168.1.1. The second option is even preferable. And press the Enter key.

If the device is connected to the router and you entered the address without errors, the authorization page for your router will open.

If instead a Yandex or Google search page opened, then most likely you entered 192.168.1.1 not in the address field, but in the search field.

Enter your username and password, then press the login button or the Enter key - and voila, we are on the router settings page. Some also call it a web interface or a router’s personal account, although these are not entirely correct terms, let’s not quibble.

For Windows system users, there is another simple and convenient way. Open the My Computer (This Computer) icon and go to the Network. And there you can see our router. By right-clicking on it, a small context window opens. Click on the View device web page item. As a result, a browser will open with the authorization page of our router and you do not need to enter the address manually.

Login to 192.168.1.1 with login and password (admin/admin)

It is important to understand that the router may not always require a login and password for authorization. This may be disabled in the settings. And if the router requires a login and password, these will not necessarily be standard factory ones. Perhaps they were changed when the router was connected or configured. Below is a list of standard passwords for various manufacturers.

If, unfortunately, you were unable to enter the settings with the standard password, then you will have to reset the router settings to factory settings. But this is a topic for a separate article.

What to do if you can’t log into the router?

If the router page does not open, try the following solutions:

If nothing helps, then you probably need to reset the settings to factory settings or the router is completely faulty and requires repair by a specialist.

It is very difficult to understand the process of operation of the router, especially in cases where a port has stopped working or access to the Internet is instantly lost. In this case, the firmware on the equipment will not be up to date. But you have to look for complete information on how to enter the settings of a Rostelecom router on the network in parts, connecting everything together. For this reason, you should review all the instructions in one moment, following the sequence.

Login to Rostelecom settings

In order to enter the main interface of the equipment, which is often used during initial manual setup, you should perform the following steps:

  • You should check that you entered the authorization data correctly when setting up Wi-Fi, as well as the order in which the cable that goes from the router to the computer is connected.
  • The “Connected” icon should be displayed, indicating that the router has actually started working.
  • After opening the web browser, you should enter the address bar 192.168.1.1. An alternative to this action is the new address 192.168.0.1.
  • Enter admin/admin as login and password. Sometimes the password line is left blank or the combination 1234 is entered.

At this point, the question of how to enter the settings of a Rostelecom router can be considered closed. But when logging in, certain errors may appear, which are most common. The first is that it is impossible to open the login form, the second is that the standard login and password do not allow you to log in.

Regarding the availability of the IP address, here you can try changing the Internet protocol parameters.

Most often, this data is automatically clogged by the network. Otherwise, you should save the existing numbers in a separate file, after which you should switch the protocol to automatic reception for all items. After saving the settings, you should reboot the system and try to log in again.

Another option is to enter the data yourself manually. The order of the process is as follows:

  • 255.0.

When this option does not bring the desired result, in the 1st, 3rd and 4th points you should replace the number “1” with “0”.

Opening ports on the router

No difficulties will arise if you want to open ports on the Rostelecom router. This happens more often when working with torrent programs and numerous game client applications. Initially, you should enter the main menu, where you select the “Advanced settings” - “NAT” section. In the virtual server item, select:

  • TCP/UDP protocol.
  • Required port or range of values.
  • Local IP address of the computer.

When all the information has been saved, the new port will be displayed and will be used. It is worth noting that the laptop system can become an obstacle to the full operation of the ports. Access is checked, and only then work begins.

Finding the IP address of the equipment

Each individual router has its own IP address. To do this, use the documentation for the model. Most often this is presented in the form of a sticker on the back of the device. If you enter the data incorrectly, you will not be able to access the network.

If you need to reset the router parameters, use a special “Reset” button on the case. After pressing, it should be held for 5 seconds. Almost any global problem will thus be eliminated.

Every Internet user has faced the need to reconfigure their router at least once in their life. Rostelecom clients are no exception. Typically, active network equipment is designed to operate for a long time without shutdowns or reboots, but sometimes it also fails.

Troubleshooting occurs by changing the settings through the router’s built-in software package, but to do this you need to gain access to it. The purpose of the article is to tell an untrained user how to enter the settings of a Rostelecom router.

Why do you need to go to settings?

The Rostelecom router is delivered to the client pre-configured, but there are many reasons when you need to go into the settings and change them. The main ones include the following:

  • updating the router firmware;

  • changing the wireless network access point password;

  • changing LAN connection parameters;

  • the need to open or close ports;

  • change security policy;

  • view internet usage statistics.

And these are just a few of the reasons. Many people are afraid to change anything in the settings, but if you do everything thoughtfully and remember the changes made, then you can safely begin the configuration process.

Logging into router settings - instructions

The Rostelecom company provides its customers with routers from several manufacturers, although you can only find provider logos on the boxes and on the configuration page.

The most common ones are SagemComm, D-Link, Huawei and Eltex. There is no fundamental difference to get into the settings. The only issue may be the difference in IP addresses.

Every device on the network has a network address (IP), and the router is no exception. Moreover, it is he who is responsible for distributing such addresses among client devices connected to it.

To find out what address a specific router has, just turn it over. At the bottom there will be this information, as well as your username and password to log in. Typically the following addresses are used by default unless they have been previously changed:

To enter the settings, your computer or laptop must be on your home network, i.e. was connected by cable or via WiFi. Then we proceed according to the following algorithm:

Possible problems and solutions

The most common errors that a user may encounter are when the login page does not open at all, or the system says that the entered name or password is incorrect.

What to do in this case? If the site is unavailable, it means the address was entered incorrectly. You can find out the router address as follows:

  • “Start - Control Panel - Network Center” or right-click on the network connection icon.

  • In the left frame “Advanced adapter settings”.

  • Right click on an active connection. Select the item “Status”.

  • The "Details" button will open a window in which the default gateway will be specified. This is the router's IP address.

  • Another way is to look through the ipconfig utility. To do this, select “Start - Run - cmd.exe”, and in the window that opens, type “ipconfig /all”, where we also find the line with the gateway address.

    Another problem is the inability to get to the settings page, because... The login or password is entered incorrectly. If these parameters have changed and no one can tell you the login password, then the only option is to reset the configuration (reset to factory settings).

    Every router has a recessed button on the back panel called "Reset". You need to press it when the router is turned on and hold it for 10-15 seconds until the network indicator starts flashing quickly. Now you can go into the settings using the data that is written on the bottom cover of the router, but now you need to reconfigure the router to access the Internet. Information on setting up can be obtained from the provider or looked at the instructions issued by them.

    These steps generally describe how to get into the settings of the Rostelecom router. The user will be able to see the fundamental differences only when he has already logged in to the router. On the authorization page for entering your login and password, a modal window may appear, or there will simply be a simple form with two fields and a button. There is no fundamental difference, the main thing is to enter the data correctly: address, name and password.

    If the information is too complex, then you can always use the help of support specialists who will suggest a solution online, for example, by phone, or by contacting the nearest Rostelecom office directly or watch the video instructions.

    To initially configure the router or change parameters, you do not need to connect the WiFi router via cable to your computer or laptop; as soon as the router is connected to the network and the “WiFi distribution” option is activated, all devices equipped with a working and enabled WiFi module are connected to the wireless router. To do this, you need to launch a browser using your phone, tablet or laptop. Connect a wireless network and go to the modem address. The default router address and network name are indicated on the sticker or in the instructions, as a rule, this is: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, 192.168.8.1 for Huawei routers or use hostnames reserved by the manufacturer:

    • router.asus.com - Asus routers
    • tplinkwifi.net, tplinklogin.net - TP-Link routers
    • my.keenetic.net - Zyxel routers
    • netis.cc - Netis routers

    After logging into your personal account, log in using your login and password, the default access is indicated on the sticker and in the instructions for the router; if the login or password has already been changed, use the current login-password pair to log in. Most routers have default access: admin - admin.

    Step-by-step instructions for logging into the router via Wifi

    1. Connect the router to mains power. In the picture there is chain N1;
    2. Press the WiFi transmission button, the WiFi indicator (N4 indicator) should light up;
    3. If Wi-Fi is not turned on on your phone, tablet, or other device, turn it on;
    4. Connect the device from which you are going to log into your router’s personal account to the WiFi network. The network name is indicated on the sticker on the back of the modem and in the instructions;

    5. open the address of the router administration page in your browser (point 3 from the picture above): 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, hostname or other.
    6. log in using the credentials indicated on the sticker, often this is the login and password: admin - admin.

    Congratulations, if done correctly, we will see the router control panel.

    What should I do if the network name, login or password has been changed and is no longer suitable?

    1. If the name of the network is changed, then there is nothing wrong with that. Log in using the one provided by the router and want to connect. This will almost certainly be the wireless network with the strongest signal.
    2. If you have forgotten your login or password, there are two solutions. The first is to remember or find out from the person who changed the default login and password. If the router is flashed by the provider, you should contact technical support and look at the service agreement. If it is impossible to restore access, then resetting the settings to factory settings will help. Then the authorization data and network name, as well as the password, will become the same as on the sticker. But other settings will also disappear, including the provider settings for logging into the Internet. So I advise you to prepare your settings before performing a reset.

    Manufacturers' applications for managing routers via WiFi

    To make life easier, some manufacturers have created applications to control the modem. The principle of operation is the same, but you don’t need to remember address data and numbers, you don’t need to enter 192.168.0.1 to log in and remember other numbers and passwords. We will describe working with them in other articles, but it is already intuitive.
