GROHE - brand history. History of Grohe AG Whose company is Grohe

German plumbing:

Grohe– a leading international brand in the manufacture of faucets, shower systems, shower systems hidden installation, installations for wall hung toilets, urinals, bidets and washbasins.

MIXERS

SHOWER SYSTEMS

INSTALLATIONS

Founded: 1936, family business, now owned by an international investment fund, Germany.

Industrial base: Germany, Portugal, Thailand.

There are things that are nice to sell, such as Roca, Kaldewei and, of course, the German Grohe.

Grohe is known for its faucets around the world. . Grohe is a symbol of reliability, design and advanced technology.

The main directions of development of the company for the coming years are:

Quality;

Technology;

Caring for the environment.

As mentioned above, Grohe is a leading manufacturer in the sanitary fittings market, in addition, a world leader in scientific and technological innovation. 80% of production is concentrated in Germany: factories in Hamer, Lara and Porta Westfalica. Other production: Porto, Portugal; Toronto, Canada; Kaeng, Thailand.

The founder of Grohe is Friedrich Grohe.

Grohe's global market share is:

— bath faucets 40%;

— kitchen faucets 12%;

— showers and shower systems 31%;

sanitary systems 14%;

— spare parts and accessories 3%.

Overall 8% market share in sanitary fittings sales worldwide.

Grohe provides a guarantee for its products for 5 years, and further service is possible.

Grohe provides that single-lever faucets will be able to operate for 12 years, installations for wall-hung toilets, bidets, urinals for 10 years, two-lever faucets for 20 years, thermostatic faucets for 10 years, showers for 10 years.

The surface of Grohe faucets is carefully coated with a layer of high-quality chrome. It provides protection from damage and a bright gloss; the coating has a high degree of wear resistance.

My sales experience has shown that Grohe is the choice of people who do not skimp on quality. Of course, when there is no finance, it is difficult to buy Grohe. But in principle, average income will allow you to buy Grohe and thereby have a cool thing in your house or apartment. Which, I want to point out, is not a sin to show to others.

For example, one of my favorite lines of faucets, Grohe Eurocube, has always evoked enthusiastic responses from customers.

All of the above is clear evidence that if you buy Grohe plumbing fixtures for your apartment, you will not regret your choice!

Finally, I decided to start finalizing the article on the Groe brand.

Well, if we talk about Groy, then we need to get down to detailed consideration of collections (series) of Grohe mixers there are quite a few of them. Since I had the honor of actively selling the entire Grohe assortment, and at one time I also partially supervised people who also sold Grohe, so there is something to say and say professionally.

And so, the Grohe series:

Allure Brilliant

Eurodisc Cosmopolitan

Let's go into detail:

1. Euroeco- the simplest series (not counting Bau Edge, Bau Loop... but I don’t even consider them, the simple series, with plastic nuts, without rotation limiters, the type to combat cheap faucets, are not even in the Grohe catalogs, although this is Grohe). Euroeco - cheap option! If you need a good cheap bath faucet, then this is Grohe Euroeco. Bath shower mixer, Grohe Euroeco. Washbasin faucet - here is the question, the market now mainly offers small faucets, at best they are good for a small washbasin, for example toilet room. Although higher ones have appeared in the Grohe Euroeco line, I have not seen them, and most likely they are on order.

Result: a good cheap series, in principle no problems, as assembly rules are in Thailand, but there have never been any problems with this. Therefore, there is no need to wrap yourself up. The bad thing is simple design and not a very good faucet option. It is difficult to put a couple together in the bathroom (on the bathtub and washbasin)

2. Eurosmart- the second most expensive series, after Grohe Euroeco, better design, smoother lines, as a rule, I preferred to sell these particular mixers as cheaper and at the same time with a better design. But this is a matter of taste! Oh yes, by the way., I also sold these mixers because I offered a washbasin mixer in conjunction with the bathtub mixer. Which had nuts at the end in a pressed liner (do not forget all washbasin and kitchen faucets have a pressed water line up to 40 cm long, pay attention to this!!!), while Grohe Euroeco has fittings in washbasin mixers! !! This means that for the Grohe Euroeco washbasin faucet you need to buy universal Grohe valves (and this is + $10 cost). Therefore, Eurosmart has the best overall price. Moreover, the Eurosmart medium washbasin faucet has recently appeared and they are good for completing the set.

Result: in my opinion, the Eurosmart series is of better quality (design, flexible connection), good price, good design and no problems with the fittings on the washbasin faucet. If you need cheap faucets, this is the series for you. Assembly in Thailand, but don't worry, the quality is top notch!

3. – a more “squared” form of design. I have this exact series of faucets at home. More massive faucets compared to Euroeco and Eurosmart. There is also a mixer average size, for the money, this is a cheap series. A good option.

Result: who needs a more impressive faucet, with clearer edges in the design, you this one will do series. Assembled in Thailand, high quality. Good technique, good design.

4. – already more expensive, interesting design, not for everyone. A very good bath faucet. If you are going to buy this series, expect that the washbasin faucet is more suitable for a small washbasin, I think 60 maximum. Since the mixer is not tall.

Result: Eurostyle is a more advanced series. If you like the design, buy it! Quite good design. Nothing supernatural... but very good! Assembly, most likely Thailand

5. – everything is the same as Eurostyle. But it was made even better, with a longer spout for the bathtub faucet and a taller faucet for the washbasin.

Result: good, worthy series. The taller faucet makes the Eurostyle more preferable if you're buying a pair.

6. Eurodisc Cosmopolitan– a very good series, in my opinion, the best series. How many times have I sold it, only the German assembly (although I didn’t notice the difference; the quality of Thailand, Portugal, and Germany is no different). A lot of these mixers were sold. Simply good. Tall washbasin mixer, tilted. Long, massive bath faucet. Ascetic German, Groevsky design. I highly recommend it!!!

Result: the combination of all indicators makes this series the best for assembling a pair: bath mixer, washbasin mixer. The best option, in terms of price/quality ratio.

7. – a series of ordinary design is sufficient. German pragmatism and minimalism. Nice massive faucets. The topic is for amateurs, if you like it, take it, the thing is very weighty and you can simply feel the power of the product.

Result: If you like the design, buy it. Nothing supernatural. In terms of sales, rarely sold. Panels for built-in shower systems are interesting, minimalism....

8. one of the most popular shopping themes. Many are tired of smooth lines from Soviet standards, and even from the Central European standard of plumbing design; many want to see rigid, geometrically slender lines in their bathroom. Eurocube is one of Grohe's best-selling faucet series. Both regular Grohe faucets and overhead panels for built-in shower systems are popular. I sold this series to both VIP clients, designers, and ordinary people who are tired of the usual faucet options. Production is usually in Thailand, sometimes in Germany. In general, a lot was sold, no complaints.

Result: the best series with a design in strict geometric shapes, very selling, well made and original. ….

Everyone is tired... to be continued... If you have any questions, write in the comments on VKontakte below or email me.

Grohe officially began its activities in 1936. But its history goes back deeper - to the very beginning of the twentieth century, when the enterprising and energetic German Hans Grohe from the town of Schiltrech opened a tiny workshop. Hans was involved in the production of various metal products and plumbing parts. By 1908, the customers of the young Grohe and his company Hansgrohe included not only plumbers and city residents, but also some wholesale companies from Berlin and Prague. Hans's eldest son continued his father's work, and the middle son, Friedrich, decided to found his own Grohe and left for the city of Chimera. It was 1936 - the beginning new history, which is destined to become a world-famous legend.

The Grohe company is actively developing, export channels are opening, the first batches of mixers are being sent abroad. Of course, the war left its sad mark on the company's activities. But already in the second half of the fifties, Friedrich acquired a company producing thermostats and established the production of electric and gas water heaters.

Since 1961, Grohe has confidently entered the international arena. One after another, subsidiaries are opened in France, Austria, Italy, the USA, Belgium, Holland and the UK. Friedrich Grohe's first steps

At the beginning of its history, GROHE was called Berkenhoff & Paschedag. It was a metal products factory. In 1936, it was acquired by Friedrich Grohe, who limited the company's product range to plumbing fixtures only. The choice of industry was quite logical, because since 1901 he had worked in the family business - the Hansgrohe plumbing company, which was founded by his father.

Just 2 years later, the renewed factory received its first order from abroad. In 1948 the company became Friedrich GROHE Armaturenfabrik.

A little later, in 1961, a plant was acquired outside of Germany - in France. A year later, the French factory GROHE received exclusive rights to produce single-lever mixers.

What is the difference between the plumbing brands Grohe and Hansgrohe

In 1968, Friedrich Grohe, in order to have funds to expand production, sold 51% of the shares. The company has ceased to exist family business, and took a step towards a dominant position in the market. By the way, at the father's factory HansGROHE everything is different. His descendants are still at the helm of Hans Grohe's brainchild.

By the early 2000s, renowned competitors and manufacturers of sanitary fittings became part of GROHE AG.

IN different time were taken over by Eichelberg, the oldest manufacturer of sanitary ware in Germany, founded in 1817, Carl Nestler - the first manufacturer of thermostats for personal use in the bathroom, Skalatherm with their innovative mixer and DAL - the technological leader of the sanitary ware market, which invented the first flush valve back in 1914 .

As a result, Groe has become a leading innovator in the industry.
