Replaceable lining of belt conveyor drums. Drum lining. Apply special glue for lining and rubberizing the surface

Lining with replaceable elasto-metallic (EM) plates “MARAFON EK”» used for protection conveyor drums when operating them in the coal and mining industries, as well as when operating drums in aggressive environments, at temperatures environment from -45 to +180°C and air humidity no more than 98%.

MARAFON EK ® friction linings are a unique and proven method for increasing conveyor and elevator productivity. Specifically designed for direct installation on the drive drum, these products can transform any conveyor system into high-performance equipment without requiring much Maintenance. Along with a striking increase in the coefficient of friction (adhesion) between the belt and the drum, the drum surface is protected from damage, as well as self-cleaning, in which material does not accumulate on the drum.

The combinations of elastomers and design features products provide significant advantages over traditional vulcanized, cold welded or bonded drum linings bolted connections. The unique factory fastening system eliminates the separation of the pads, making the MARAFON EK ® ideal option for severe operating conditions on high power drives or when using rubber rope conveyor belts.

Elastomers used in potentially hazardous mining processes, as well as during the transportation of grain and fertilizers, are approved federal service on environmental, technological and nuclear supervision and a certificate of conformity issued by VOSTNII.

Production of overlays

provides the possibility of producing elastomers of special composition for further vulcanization under high pressure on special steel plates that can be installed on any drums. The linings move in special holders welded or bolted to the surface of the drum.

    Friction linings are made using modern elastomers, providing excellent adhesion to the drive drum, elastic movement and long service life. The elastomer maintains its integrity under the most severe operating conditions.

    Hot vulcanization, performed in the factory under pressure, ensures excellent bonding of the rubber to the steel lining. There is virtually no overlay failure due to loss of adhesion and separation - the most common problems encountered with traditional overlays.

    Steel linings are manufactured with high precision, which ensures the possibility of installation on drums of any diameter. The necessary stability of the linings and a long service life are guaranteed.

    Stainless steel holders are welded or bolted to the surface of the drum for reliable fixation of the friction linings. When installed correctly, the pads do not move or come off under the influence of the transported material or belt movement.

These four features make MARAFON EK ® products a unique and reliable choice for installation on all conveyor and elevator drums. MARAFON EK ® pads can subsequently be replaced on site, usually without dismantling the belt or drum. Possible replacement Removing worn or damaged pads is even faster and easier since the holders are already installed.

As we understand it, drums are made by welding steel or by casting cast iron. You can notice that the drums remind us of a smooth cylindrical shape along the rim. In order to use the drum at its maximum value, the tape is pulled tightly against it. In order for the drum to clean itself, you need to increase the wrapping angle of the tape, and use longitudinal linings.

Linings are installed very easily, using special adhesives. To reduce slipping and movement of the belt, lining plates are used. To increase the production rate and to reduce the likelihood of cargo entering the drum plane, they also use lining plates. To increase the tenacity of the belt with the drum, a corrugated surface of the drum is used, while reducing the tension of the belt. If these rules are followed, the service life of tapes and connectors increases significantly.

  • At rubber lining The service life is long.

  • When lining with polyanite it is characterized by resistance to chemical influences, high temperatures and high humidity.

  • Polymer lining based on wear resistance, strength and protection from salts, acids and alkalis.

  • Metal lining resistant to various types of corrosion and other external factors.

Drum lining algorithm:

1) The surface is thoroughly polished, specially with a grinding machine at a depth of no more than 30 microns. The next step is to clean the surface from oils and fats using anti-grease agents.

2) A special primer is applied to the surface of the drum, the exposure time of which depends on the type of primer.

3) Apply special glue for lining and rubberizing the surface.

The process of lining the main drive drum of a belt conveyor is usually carried out by the equipment manufacturer independently, using special technology cold vulcanization with the help of which, smooth surface The drum is covered with especially durable or “lining” rubber, which may contain ceramic inclusions. On this moment, this method is the most optimal. The lining of the drums of belt conveyors effectively prevents possible slippage of the drive drum that occurs when the proper level of load on the conveyor belt is exceeded.

In some types of conveyor devices, drive drums are installed, the surface of which remains completely smooth after lining; in some, there are patterns on the lined coating, which, by the way, are a kind of business card manufacturer. However, such a pattern is not intended to perform an aesthetic function at all, but a completely utilitarian one; it allows the drive drum to self-clean, which ultimately provides its surface with better adhesion to the conveyor belt. By the way, ceramic inclusions, in turn, increase the wear resistance of the rubber coating of the drive drum, that is, the lining itself.

How to line the drive drums of belt conveyors

So, lining is the application of a protective layer to the surface of the drums driving the conveyor belt. Rubber is mainly used for lining; however, at the request of the customer, the manufacturer of the conveyor belt can apply any protective material that meets the requirements of the specific production and operation of the conveyor. As options for replacing rubber, silicone, acrylic, polyurethane, and so on can be used, and the protective layer in such cases is simply glued to the surface of the drive drum.

Advantages of lining:

  • Self-cleaning drive drums belt conveyors;
  • Improving traction and eliminating slippage;
  • Elimination of accumulation of moisture and dirt;
  • Stable belt tension and set speed;
  • Increasing the service life of the drive drum, conveyor belt and all equipment in general;
  • Reliable protection metal drum from rust;
  • Protection of the drum and belt from mechanical influences.

Belt conveyor drum lining technology

It should be noted that a grooved lining, that is, having either a pattern or ceramic inserts, provides more high level adhesion of the surface of the drive drum and the conveyor belt, as well as best indicator traction factor, which eliminates excessive tension of the conveyor belt, thereby extending its service life.

The lining process does not take much time from the manufacturer; the application of any material as a protective layer on the surface of the drive drum occurs quickly and efficiently. During the operation of a drum with lining, you can save time on repairs and extend the service life of the entire conveyor belt device.

The lining of drive and non-drive conveyor drums prevents slipping of the conveyor belt, significantly increasing its service life. Reduces the load on the drum drive.

KV plate for lining conveyor drums

The KV plate is intended for lining (or rubberizing) drive and non-drive drums of conveyors. Allows lining (gumming) of drums of any diameter and length up to 1600 mm. It is a rubber plate with a welded sheet of metal and an applied protector on one side. The surface has holes for bolts.

The plate is made of high quality rubber with high wear resistance. It is possible to produce KV plates in thermo-, oil-, frost-resistant and food-grade versions. When installed, it gives the drum a barrel-shaped shape, which prevents the belt from coming off the conveyor. Is it mounted with self-tapping bolts? 5-6 mm (supplied in the kit). Possible fastening with metal screws. Installation of the plate does not require special equipment. preparation can be carried out by personnel in any weather conditions.

Imported lining for drive drums

Quick-replaceable, easily removable lining of the drive drum of the belt conveyor - SLIDE-LAG

SLIDE-LAG - saves your money!

Minimum time spent on drum lining.

Strength

Slide-lag linings are made of a special grade of wear-resistant rubber, entirely vulcanized under high pressure (4,826.33 kPa) on durable thick sheet steel, which is pre-bent to the diameter of your drum. This method neutralizes internal stresses in the pad and gives maximum adhesion strength between rubber and metal. Using rubber with high density, ensures long service life. The retaining bars are also made of heavy gauge steel so that when installed, the retaining bars are firmly secured to the surface of the drum.

Self-cleaning

A special combination of diagonal slots on the rubber surface and the distance between the rows of linings on the drum allow particles of transported material to be removed from the area where the conveyor belt adheres to the lining.

Retaining bars

Double and single locking strips, as well as SLIDE LAG®, are available in a standard length of 1830 mm. They are made of Corten steel (anti-corrosion steel) or stainless steel.

GS - single locking strip

  • length - 1830 mm
  • width of the part adjacent to the drum - 16 mm
  • execution - Corten steel
