DIY money machine. Money printing machine. How to make your own printing press

Have you ever wondered how to copy a newspaper article without using a printer or scanner?Well, if suddenly the power goes out and everything is yours modern equipment turns out to be useless and you really need to make a photocopy, then you might need an old-fashioned printing press. With this type of activity

Toxic materials are used, so children will need adult assistance.

To make a printing press, you need

  • Glass of water
  • Half a cup of turpentine
  • Several portions of dishwashing liquid
  • Glass jar
  • Brush
  • Plastic sheet
  • Several sheets of A4 paper
  • A wooden board larger than a sheet of A4 paper

How to make your own printing press

  1. First, mix water, turpentine and dishwashing detergent in a jar. This will be the ink for your printing press.
  2. Now you need to place the newspaper (which you are going to copy) on top of a sheet of plastic that is laid out on a flat surface, such as a hard floor.
  3. Use a brush to apply homemade ink to the newspaper.
  4. Place a piece of A4 size paper on top of the newspaper, then place it on top. Don't move the board or you'll smudge the ink underneath.
  5. Weigh the board down with something heavy (for example, your body).
  6. Remove and take away a sheet of A4 paper. You should have ended up with an upside down copy of the newspaper article on your piece of paper.
  7. To make a non-upside-down copy of this page, you need to dry it.
  8. Now, instead of the original newspaper, use your reverse copy and repeat the whole process (smear it with ink on top, then a sheet of A4 paper and wooden plank above).
  9. When you lift up the A4 page again, you will have a copy of your original newspaper article!

Of course, this product most likely looks more like a copying machine than a printing press. But the essence remains the same: you can save a copy of any document, newspaper, without the participation of a modern technological equipment and electricity.

Essentially, a money printing machine is a tool for doing things. It's easy to use. Even a novice magician will be able to perform the trick of turning an ordinary piece of paper into a real bill.

How it works

If you seriously believed that the machine printed real money, then get up and go to school). But, if you are not a schoolboy and just want to amuse your friends, then we’ll tell you how this secret actually works (just shhh, no one))

Before using banknote printing tricks, prepare your machine. Take a banknote of any denomination, insert it between the rollers and scroll slowly. The bill will be hidden in a secret place inside the roller. Now you can surprise your guests.

Prepare a sheet of white paper and insert it into the roller on one side. Now all that remains is to slowly scroll the paper, turning the rollers with your fingers. After the piece of paper is scrolled by the machine, the owner will receive a finished banknote.

Characteristics

  • Material: plastic;
  • Weight: 90 g;
  • Size: 10 x 6 cm.

« money machine» has nothing in common with real printing presses!
But it would be great as a cool gift for April 1st, an anniversary or a wedding!
And also, this is a wonderful replacement for the faceless envelopes in which it is customary to make cash gifts.
This invention is not mine.
I just want to show you how I did this monetary machine using the “sweet design” technique.
(To understand the operating principle of the machine, you can look here.)

Dimensions: 25 cm x 14 cm x 22 cm

For the manufacture of money machine we will need :
— heat gun and glue for the heat gun — 8 pcs.
— glue “Moment-Crystal”
- cardboard tube from cling film 28-30 cm long
- cardboard (thickness 2 mm) - piece about 10 cm x 10 cm
- penoplex (2 cm thick) - 12 (15) cm x 33 (40) cm
— brown corrugated paper — approx. 1.5 m
- gold Chanel braid - approx. 4 m
- canvas fabric (in my case - “double-thread”) - 14 cm X to the desired length,
which depends on the number of banknotes inserted (in my case - 1.5 meters)
— chocolate coins — from 6 pcs.
— toothpicks — 12 pcs.
— gerbera wire 40 cm long — 16 pcs.
- thin wire (beaded type) - approx. 40 cm
- gold tape (can be replaced with gold corrugated paper)
— narrow medical plaster.

1. From the cardboard tube on which it was wound cling film, saw off two pieces approximately 14 cm long.

2. Then, on thick cardboard we mark circles

We cut them out and mark them in the center of the hole.

3. Glue these circles into cardboard tubes.

4. From penoplex we cut out blanks for the machine and stands for it:
— rectangle 15 cm x 6 cm — 2 pieces, for the side walls of the machine;

- rectangle 18 cm x 6 cm - 2 pieces, for the upper and lower bases of the machine

— rectangle 25 cm x 13 cm — 1 piece, for the stand-base of the machine

5. We make markings on the blanks for the side walls.
When placing the circles, you need to take into account the thickness of your fabric cash tape.
(If you make the drums very close to each other, then there will simply be no place for the fabric to fit.
This is how it happened for me.
A 1.5 m long tape created a “good” thickness on the drum.”
I had to redo the parts starting from this point and place the circles at a short distance from each other)
On each of the blanks in one of the circles we make through hole(these will be holes for the handles),
in the other - to the middle of the thickness of the penoplex.

6. Making handles.
For this I used gerbera wire 40 cm long.
(If you have the right thickness of wire, you're in luck!
Proceed to the next step)
There are 8 pieces for each pen.
I made the blanks using wire cutters
- for a long handle - 30 cm,
— for short — 24 cm

I wrap these blanks in 8 pieces using a medical plaster.
This will help give extra thickness and the wires will fit well to each other.

7. Wrap the handle blanks with gold tape.
If you don’t have one, then you can use gold corrugated paper
cut off (along the stretching side) a strip 1 cm wide and wrap the workpieces with it.

8. Corrugated paper glue over 4 edges of the blank for the side walls.
Don’t forget to make the holes that you marked on the foam in step No. 5.

We cut off the excess paper.

9. Glue (optional) the tube blanks.
We glue the edges of the paper end-to-end so that it is easier for the “money” to “ride” along the drum :)
You don't have to cover it with paper, because... These drums are then covered with fabric.
(I did this for insurance: in case the fabric came off somewhere.
Well, there is a perfectionist in me :-))

10. We insert the handle into the hole in the side wall, put a cardboard tube on it and bend the handle as we see fit.

11. Important! The handle should rotate with the tube, and not scroll through it.
To do this, we wrap a thin (beaded) wire around the pin that sticks out of the drum after the handle is inserted.
We fasten and glue the ends of the wire to the cardboard.
For accuracy. I used metal "washers"
(I found it in my husband’s tools, and I don’t know what to call it correctly),
to cover the wire and give the area a “smooth” feel.

To be honest, this stage turned out to be the most difficult for me!

11. Glue the top over the entire area, lower base machine and base stand.

12. We assemble the side walls with the drums together

13. Insert toothpicks into the side walls.
(I do this so that the parts of the side walls are more securely fastened to the upper and lower bases)

14. We assemble our machine.

15. For a cash ribbon made of double-thread fabric, I cut out a strip 14 cm wide (see the length of the drum tubes) and overcast the edges with a zigzag stitch.
The length of your ribbon will determine how many bills you can insert into the machine.
(At this stage, I made a small calculation for 500 UAH: I multiplied the length of the 50-hryvnia bill by 10 (pieces) and got the length of the desired ribbon.)

Lubricate one edge of the finished tape with “Moment” glue, let it “stand” for a while and glue it to the upper drum
(this is the one with the long handle)

For convenience, we wind the tape on the upper drum

16. We pull the end of the tape under the lower drum.

Apply glue to the bottom drum and glue the end of the tape to the drum.

The tape should be inserted in a figure eight pattern.

17. Using toothpicks and hot glue, attach the machine to the base stand.
We decorate money machine using Chanel type tape, gluing it to thermal glue

(I additionally made thickenings on the handles from the same braid)

18.Print out the following inscriptions on a color printer or on photo paper:
- "money"
- "paper"
- "start"
- "finish"
- "settings"
— “money” + arrow with the direction in which to turn the knob
(I made the inscriptions in Photoshop and took them to a photo studio, where they printed out a 9cm x 13 cm photo for me, on which the inscriptions I needed were placed)

19. Use chocolate coins for decoration.
(I glue the coins like this:
- I glue it to a coin Double-sided tape;
- I'm filming protective layer tape and glue a piece of cardboard onto it;
— I apply thermal glue to the cardboard;
— I glue the coin to the place where I think it’s necessary).

(I was thinking about decorating with chocolate bars somehow, but at the “family council” they decided that
« money machine— the device is serious, and excessive decoration will only distract from the main mechanism :-).”
You decide for yourself whether to decorate the machine with something else or not)

20. We glue the stickers as follows.
(I glued it using “Moment”)
Above the short handle (which turns the lower drum) we glue the “SETUP” sticker.

Above the long handle we glue the sticker “MONEY + arrow”

Glue the “FINISH” sticker to the bottom drum at the very end of the tape.

On the top drum, at the very beginning of the tape, glue the “START” sticker.

At the bottom, on the side where the money will come out, we glue the “MONEY” sticker.

And on the side from which we will feed the paper, we glue the “PAPER” sticker.

All, money machine ready, all that's left is to fill it up.

20. Rewind the entire tape onto the upper drum, up to the “FINISH” sticker.
We take a bill, insert it between the reels and start turning the small “SETUP” knob.
Thus, the bill is twisted between the ribbon and onto the lower drum.

So we fill all the bills up to the “START” sticker.

After all bills have been inserted into money machine, We take the paper, insert it on the other side between the rollers, and turn the handle with a long handle.

So the paper begins to curl, between the ribbon onto the upper drum, and on the other side, the bill we have already inserted comes out.

That's it, ours money machine ready and seasoned!
“Print money” using this cool gift “Money machine” Anyone can.
Be careful: some people believe this illusion very strongly!

I wish you inspiration and creative success!

P.S. Dear Craftswomen!
If you want your work from my master classes to be seen as much as possible more people, and I will certainly talk about this in my “Workshop”.
At the same time, I will definitely provide links to your pages in in social networks or websites!

I would be grateful if you leave your comment!

I want to show you how to make a money machine with your own hands. It has nothing in common with real printing presses, but as a cool gift for your friends on April 1 or a wedding, it will be great. This invention, of course, is not mine. I just want to show how I made this machine. This is a money machine , Now you can buy it at any joke store or on the Internet for 500 rubles. But in my case, the store ran out of them, and I didn’t have time to order online, so I had to do it myself in order to have time to give it to friends as an anniversary gift.

To make a money machine, we will need:

Wooden boards, hot melt glue, thick and thin wire, cardboard tubes, self-tapping screws and film for gift wrapping.

We start by sawing off two pieces 15 cm long and one 20 cm long from a wooden board. Sand the edges of the cut well so that they are smooth.

From a cardboard tube (in stores they have oilcloth wrapped around them, which is sold by the meter), we cut off two pieces about 14 cm long. Then, we mark circles on thick cardboard.

We cut out these circles and glue them with hot glue, two pieces at a time.

Now we glue these circles into cardboard tubes. On each side of the tube we mark a hole in the center. We mark and drill holes for the handles on the boards. On the top board, the right hole must be drilled through. And the left hole must be drilled to the middle of the board, so that there is no hole on the other side of the board. On the bottom board, do the opposite. We drill the right hole to the middle of the board, and drill the left hole all the way through.

We make two handles from thick wire, one with a long handle and the other with a short handle. We insert the handle into the hole in the board and put our cardboard blank on it. We secure it with a thin wire and glue the ends of the wire to the cardboard, this is necessary so that the drum rotates with the handle and holds well on it..

This is what we should end up with, one drum is mounted on a board and a handle with a short handle, and the second is on a board and a handle with a long handle. On a board 20cm long, we mark the places where we will screw the boards with the drums.

We assemble our machine, fix everything with self-tapping screws. This is how it should work out. We cover everything with stain.

We glue a piece of suede to the base to cover the attachment points. Glue decorative tape along the edges.

Now all we have to do is insert the ribbon into our money machine. We take a beautiful film for wrapping gifts and cut it into a 14 cm wide ribbon. The length of your ribbon will determine how many bills you can put into the machine.

We insert the end of the tape between the drums and pull it under the lower drum.

Apply glue to the bottom drum and glue the end of the tape to the drum. Since the tape is wound on the drums with different sides facing outwards. The sides of the tape have different colour, which enhances the illusion of independence of the rollers.

We wind the entire tape onto the lower drum, and glue the remaining free end of the tape to the upper drum. The result should be: the top drum is golden, the bottom drum is silver. The tape is inserted according to the figure eight principle.

We print out the stickers we need, put them on the bottom drum at the very end of the tape, and glue the “FINISH” sticker onto the tape.

On the top drum, at the very beginning of the tape, glue the “START” sticker. We glue the “MONEY” sticker on the side above the handle with a long handle.

On the other hand, above the handle with a short handle we glue the “SETUP” sticker. At the bottom, on the side where the money will come out, we glue the “MONEY” sticker. And on the side from which we will feed the paper, we glue the “PAPER” sticker. The machine is ready, all that remains is to refuel it.

Thus, the bill is twisted between the ribbon and onto the lower drum. So, we fill all the bills up to the “START” sticker. After all the bills are tucked into the . We take the paper, insert it on the other side between the rollers, and turn the handle with a long handle. So the paper begins to curl, between the ribbon on the upper drum and on the other side, the bill we have already inserted comes out.

That's it, our money machine is ready and loaded. As you can see, everything is very simple. Anyone can “print money” with the help of such a cool “Money Machine” gift. Be careful: some people believe this illusion very strongly. “Money machine” is an excellent gift for the first of April, for the New Year, for a wedding, etc. And also, a wonderful replacement for the faceless envelopes in which it is customary to make cash gifts.

Is it difficult to make a money printing machine yourself? I think that if only as a joke as a gift. But you shouldn’t mess with a real machine (it’s still criminally punishable), we’d rather earn money ourselves!

I saw a wonderful idea for a comic gift on the HOBBIN HOUSE website. Below is a video of the finished machine in operation and describes detailed master class on how to make this machine:
