Master Class Snow globe

wonderful New Year's ball with a snowman!

Required materials and tools:

Glass jar (spices / mustard / baby food…)
Boiled water (cooled)
Sequins (glitters)
Polymer clay
Glue gun
Nail pusher
Waterproof glue
Baking paper
Glycerol
Brush
Wire cutters
Pin
Spoon
Vodka

Process description:
You don’t have to make a snowman yourself, but take a ready-made holiday figurine.

Let's get started! First, let's take polymer clay white and divide it into three parts (here I had plastic, which was already packaged in the form of balls). Let's make two balls for a snowman - one twice the size of the other.

During the sculpting process, do not forget to check the size of the figure - whether the snowman fits into our jar.

We connect the two resulting balls using a pin. Remove the pin head using wire cutters.

Using the tip of the brush (not shaggy) we outline the future eyes. Making eyes - coals from small balls dark color(plastic). Some materials, such as a brush, can be replaced in this MK (for example, with a toothpick).

Now you need to make a smile. I did this using a nail pusher. You can also use special tool For polymer clay. The mouth is done carefully, in small steps. Do not hurry.

What's a snowman without a carrot nose? Let's take 2 plastic balls - yellow and red (or you don't have to bother and just one orange). Press the balls together until you get almost the same color, with small streaks.

Let's make a carrot. We mark the place for the nose and stick our vegetable there.

We will make “legs” from two balls of white clay (you can skip this moment and leave the snowman as is). Flatten the balls a little.

Now - “hands”. We roll the sausage, make one end sharp - it turns out to be shaped like a droplet. We bend the resulting stumps slightly and attach them to the sides.

Let's give our friend a festive caramel. To do this, take two colored balls of the same size. Roll out two sausages.

We trim the ends of our new sausage and form a hook. We insert the resulting candy between the hand and the snowman’s belly (he is holding it).

Now we “knit” the scarf. Forming two sausages different colors. Roll them out quite thin.

Roll two sausages together right hand let's spin it FROM OURSELVES. We roll out two more thin ones, which we twist towards ourselves (in the other direction).

We connect our bagels so that we get “loops”. We cut off the ends. We put the resulting scarf on the snowman.

We attach tiny sausages to the scarf - this is fringe.

Let's create another scarf. Starting from the back, we wrap the snowman's head in a spiral, forming a hat.

At this stage, my snowman was tired and began to fall back. He had to prop his butt up with a jar lid.

Our hat is missing a pompom. We do something similar using small sausages.

It turned out to be a fun winter hat.

The final touch is to make buttons (two indentations). The snowman is ready! We bake it in the oven and glue it to the lid of the jar. The next part of the master class is devoted to making a snow globe.

Apply glue to the lid around the snowman. Sprinkle glitter on top of the glue.

When the glitter has stuck, pour out the rest.

Now we make snow from different types glitters (can be from one). If you take sparkles that are too small, they will float up instead of sinking down.

It's time to fill our snowball special liquid.

My (secret recipe). A tablespoon of glycerin (sold at the pharmacy) per tablespoon of vodka.

Plus - cooled boiled water (distilled is possible). Pour in enough water to make a snowman full jar(don't forget about Archimedes' law).

Use a glue gun to secure the lid. This is very important point. It is necessary that water cannot seep through. After you have glued it and twisted it, check it (shake it in all directions).

The hardened glue can be decorated with glitter on top. The result will be a kind of snowdrift.

So our magical snow globe is ready. Happy holidays everyone!

The imagination is limitless for realizing creative ideas and creating a unique New Year's interior. On the list original crafts and an unusual jar with snow - it’s not difficult to make it with your own hands. A ball of snow, in which, when shaken, snowflakes swirl and fancy ones float New Year's figures, for almost everyone is a distant childhood memory.

A master class for creating a winter-themed phantasmagoria with your own hands in an ordinary glass jar is incredibly simple. Shall we try?

Decoration materials

To create a New Year's jar with snow, we will need a tall and straight glass container with a screw-on iron lid with a volume of about 1 liter, loose foam or artificial snow, minifigures that will live in a jar of snow. Our decor includes a green Christmas tree and a funny snowman with a sleigh.

To create a unique New Year's decor The choice of miniature toys is quite wide. The main thing is that it fits in the jar. Santa Claus and deer, a Christmas tree, the Snow Maiden, gnomes, forest animals in the snow, in a word, everything that is somehow connected with the New Year and Christmas holidays.

It’s worth thinking about a platform stand for figures in a jar of snow. This can be a hand-made pedestal made from a piece of wood, polystyrene foam or cardboard. White cotton or wool balls will come in handy small size. You can make them yourself or buy them at a craft store. You will also need a needle, fishing line, glue/tape.

Step-by-step algorithm of work

Stylized New Year's jar in a festive interior it will be an excellent decoration for any room: living room, kitchen, nursery. Considering that you will make this miracle with your own hands, a festive atmosphere will appear in the house during the creative process.

  1. We thread the fishing line through a needle and string cotton or wool balls onto the fishing line. To secure them, use a drop of glue or a drop of nail polish (colorless) on one side of the middle of the ball.
  2. We attach a platform for a mini-toy to the bottom of the jar. Glue and double-sided tape will help with this.
  3. We place miniature figures on the bottom of the jar, while there is still no snow, and attach them so that they do not dangle when the jar moves.
  4. Sprinkle the glass bottom of the jar with artificial snow or loose foam so as to completely cover the “podium”. By the way, artificial snow for a jar is quite easy to make with your own hands. There are many on the Internet original recipes its manufacture.
  5. The crucial moment is “snow” in the bank. We attach the improvised garland using hot glue or tape to the screw-on lid. Eight to ten “cotton-snow” threads different lengthsbest option for New Year's decor of our magic jar.
  6. The final touch is to close the container with a lid with attached garlands and screw it on. The jar of snow is ready!

Imagination will suggest decor for winter, Easter, autumn jars in which you can use natural materials and a creative set of do-it-yourself figurines, toys, and accessories.

The shape of the can itself may also be interesting. The more unusual the glass container, the more intricate the painting inside can be. And a reason to create and use “can” decor with your own hands can arise at any moment.

It’s not difficult to make it yourself, and almost all of its components can be found at home.

DIY snow globe| Components

  • Jar with screw cap. Ideally, the lid should be screwed on tightly. If you take a jar and a lid from ready-made canned food, do not count on it being sealed. I took a jar of compote, so I had to strengthen and seal the threads to prevent leakage.
  • Decorations. Would be good for this role Christmas decorations. Houses and Christmas trees look especially good with snow on top. I didn’t take this moment into account right away, so I had to take a lot of shots so that Santa Claus’s face wouldn’t be hidden in the snow.
  • Glue. Glue is needed to glue the decoration to the lid. Many people praise the glue gun, but I didn’t want to buy one specifically for the snow globe. I made do with a tube of super glue.
  • Imitation of snow. This could be fake snow, glitter, or even crushed glassware. white plastic. I bought regular silver glitter, but in the process I realized that they didn’t fit color scheme to our ball. It’s not so easy to find artificial snow in a small town, so we had to limit ourselves to homemade “snow” from plastic toy packaging.

Homemade artificial snow

  • Glycerol. It is needed so that the “snow” falls slowly. This occurs due to an increase in the viscosity of water. The amount of glycerin depends on the type of “snow” chosen. Large snowflakes will require more glycerin. I have a 400 ml jar. It took 4 bottles of glycerin, 25 grams each. With a 1:1 ratio of water and glycerin, snowflakes will float in the water almost without sinking to the bottom.
  • Water. If you decide to make a ball for long-term storage or as a gift, then you will need distilled water and some kind of disinfectant for jewelry. There is no guarantee that the jewelry is sterile and that its microbes will not cause cloudiness in the water. For a ball that is not planned to be stored for a long time, any clean clear water. I used tap water. The first time I was unlucky, there was a whitish sediment in the jar, which spoiled appearance. For the second time, I used pre-settled water.
  • Rubber medical gloves. They are needed if you are not sure about the tightness of the lid. Gloves are convenient to use as a sealant for threads.

Hi all! And again we will create! Today my little one and I are faced with the task of making a snow globe with our own hands. And you know, we are already rubbing our palms with pleasure in anticipation of a miracle! And we will do this Miracle ourselves! I invite you all to be witnesses and accomplices. Let's create everything together!

What will we talk about in the article? First, I will voice some details regarding necessary tools and material. Then the subtleties of making the ball. And at the end I have prepared a master class for you. The program is extensive and designed with the help of little ones in mind! It seems that everything is so serious that there is nothing to trust them with. But I think that you and I will find something that the kids can do too! Here we go?!

When you hold this ball in your hands, it seems that the only thing needed to make it is magic. They shook it a little, and suddenly everything crumbled into a charming snowy day. A real mystery! And really, this riddle can be done at home? Yes! Can! And it is necessary!

For this we need:

  • Jar
  • Water - 5 parts
  • Glycerin - 1 part
  • "Snow"
  • History in the plot

Will any jar work? Will any material become snow? And which story to choose? Let's answer these questions!

Jar. We need everything in the bank to be clearly visible. Therefore, plastic or a jar with any design, pattern, sticker or edges will not work.

Water. Of course, without water everything will be much easier. But our goal is for the snow to swirl and fall slowly. Therefore, water is needed. Can’t do without her! But how can we prevent the snow from floating on the surface and settling slowly? This is why it is worth making a solution from glycerin.

Glycerol. There should be a lot of it, then the snowflakes will swirl. Ideally, the proportions of glycerin and water should be 1 to 5. Without glycerin, you can make a ball, but the snowflakes will quickly fall to the bottom. From quantity glycerin The speed of rotation of the snowflakes will depend; the more there is, the slower they will spin. Many people are interested in the question Can whether do snow ball without glycerin just on the water? We answer, no, without glycerin snowflakes will immediately fall to the bottom.

"Snow". What's suitable? Glitter, cut pieces of thin plastic or foil, artificial snow.

History in the plot. This is something worth thinking about. Firstly, what should the plot be about? It's best if it's themed. After all, the ball can be made for any occasion as a gift. You can take plants as decorations, figurines as heroes, etc. The ball with a photo inside looks original. But the photo should first be laminated or covered with tape.

You can even give it as a gift - a keychain with flying snow.

Tricks to help you make a cool snow globe

Now I will continue the topic I started. I’ll just show you how you can make a “ball” in different versions.

First of all, who said that you need pot-bellied jars? They can be of any shape and size. The main condition is that in order for the toy to look beautiful inside the jar, the container must be either slightly convex, and/or must be 2-3 cm higher than the figure.

Our New Year's story assumes that there will be snow. I offered several options to choose from. But these are mostly ready-made products. How to make artificial snow with your own hands at home? Yes, you can cut, as I already said, plastic. But you can also grate a candle or solid soap. Only in one case or another the water will become cloudy very soon. There are 2 more options for making snow yourself: eggshell, which was dried and then crushed; or diaper filler. It should be taken out and moistened a little. And it is indistinguishable from natural snow.

And I will immediately answer a question that may have arisen in your mind. Is it possible to make a ball without glycerin? Easily! It is replaced with very sweet syrup or Vaseline oil. Some people take refined glycerin instead vegetable oil. Take note of this idea too.

And one more nuance. For complete sealing, you need silicone tape or thin rubber; you can use a medical glove cut into strips.

Without glue, the structure will fall apart! Find glue that is not afraid of water. And it is desirable that it hardens quickly.

Last thing. The lid itself does not look presentable or elegant. It should be “disguised”. How? Ribbon, bow, paper strip.

Let's prepare a New Year's craft together

Since the holidays are approaching, my baby and I decided to make a snow globe for New Year. At first we wanted to buy figurines of holiday heroes. But we went through everything we have and found everything we needed. So they didn’t put it off creative process, while there is time and the right mood.

A set of materials and tools for making crafts:

  • Jar with screw cap;
  • Figurine of a frog-Santa Claus with a red hat and on skis;
  • Sprigs of Christmas tree and juniper;
  • Rain;
  • Glue "Moment";
  • Silicone tape;
  • Scissors;
  • Water;
  • Glycerol;
  • Ribbon;
  • Cork;
  • Styrofoam;
  • Foil balls.

First of all, we make neat holes in the cork of a 5-liter water bottle, and insert plant decor into the holes.

Afterwards, when we fill the entire lid with glue, the structure will become completely stable. But even now it’s worth trying to keep the holes small and the plants to fit deeply into them.

Fill the lid with glue and install the “Santa Claus” figurine, lay out “drifts” of foil balls. And in the spaces between them we glue pieces of foam plastic.

The structure is ready. We fix it on the lid of the jar. Apply glue along the bottom of the lid. And when we put it in place, we additionally fix it with drops of glue on all sides.

Cover the side of the lid with tape.

Let's prepare the water. First fill it halfway, then add glycerin. If necessary, add more water, but remember that our structure will take up some space.

It is not always possible to completely remove air from the jar. And there is no particular need to do so.

We cut the rain into “snow” and lightly crumble the foam. This last one - my little one really liked it. I liked it so much that without him noticing, I had to catch part of his “work” and remove it from the jar, otherwise everything would have been covered in snow up to the very beginning.

Before connecting the lid and the jar, we will take care of complete sealing. Cover the thread with silicone tape.

All! The last step is to screw the lid on and turn the jar upside down! And we really like him!

The snow is spinning
