5. Requirements for bases for laying self-adhesive material Technoelast BARRIER

5.1. The following can serve as the basis for a waterproofing carpet:

· reinforced concrete load-bearing slabs, the seams between which are sealed with cement-sand mortar of a grade not lower than M150;

· leveling screeds made of cement-sand mortar with a compressive strength of at least 15 MPa (M150), as well as prefabricated dry screeds made of flat asbestos-cement sheets, cement-bonded particle boards with a thickness of more than 10 mm, gypsum board (gypsum plasterboard sheet) and gypsum fiber board (gypsum fiber sheet);

· any metal bases, incl. pipes

· wooden bases (tongue and groove boards, moisture-resistant plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), etc.).

5.2. The surface to be waterproofed must have a slope of at least 2%.

5.3. Laying on a wet or damp substrate is not permitted.

5.4. The surface to be waterproofed should not have cavities, concrete sagging, cracks, irregularities with sharp edges, oil stains, or dust. Oil stains are removed by burning, concrete sagging is cut down or sanded. Small irregularities should be filled with TECHNONICOL hot roofing mastic No. 41.

5.5. The surface of the base must be flat and smooth. When checking the evenness, the gaps under the three-meter rail should only be of a smooth outline and no more than one per 1 m. Maximum depth the lumen should not exceed 5 mm.

5.6. If there are individual irregularities 10-15 mm deep on the surface to be waterproofed, they are eliminated by filling with putty mixtures, which must be easy to lay and cracks should not form in them after drying.

5.7. The temperature of the base on which the self-adhesive material is laid must be above the dew point temperature.

5.8. Back to start waterproofing works compressive strength concrete base must be at least 0.75 stamp.

5.9. Before installing waterproofing, the surface to be insulated must be cleaned of construction waste, dust, cement laitance films. The laitance film is removed by dry or wet blast-abrasive cleaning. The final removal of dust is carried out with an industrial vacuum cleaner. Surface treatment with cutters that form grooves in concrete is not allowed.

5.10. Before installing waterproofing, the insulated surface must be dry. Concrete moisture or cement-sand screed in the surface layer at a depth of 20 mm should be no more than 4%.

5.11. When installing waterproofing, it is necessary to use a primer. A primer is used as a primer bitumen TECHNONICOL No. 01 or bitumen emulsion primer TECHNONICOL No. 04.

6. Laying the material.

6.1. Preparing the surface for laying the material.

On vertical walls, before applying primer, apply masking tape around the entire perimeter. The lower edge of the tape should be raised to the height of the installation of waterproofing from Technoelast BARRIER.

The base for laying the Technoelast BARRIER material must be treated with bitumen emulsion primer TECHNONICOL No. 04.

The primer is applied with a brush or roller over the entire surface of the material to be laid, including vertical ones.

After the primer has completely dried masking tape removed and the material can be laid.

The criterion for primer drying is the absence of traces of bitumen on the fingers when they touch the primed surface.

To avoid wetting and dusting of the primed surface, the material must be laid immediately after the bitumen emulsion primer TECHNONICOL No. 04 has dried.

6.2. Laying the material.

The pasted panels should not have folds, wrinkles, or waviness, but if this happens, the area with the folds is torn off from the surface. Apply to the surface thin layer TECHNONICOL mastic No. 23 (Fixer) and lay the smoothed material.

Self-adhesive waterproofing materials are laid at an air temperature of at least +5ºС. At air temperatures below +15ºС during installation, the adhesive surface and material are heated with industrial hair dryers.

Before laying, the materials must be kept at a temperature of at least +20ºС for 24 hours.

When performing waterproofing work, precautions should be taken to prevent oil, gasoline, diesel fuel and other solvents. In case of spillage of these materials, the damaged area is cut out and a patch is applied.

The Technoelast BARRIER material is laid in one layer.

Before laying the material, the roll is rolled out over the gluing surface and tried on in place.

During fitting, it is necessary to ensure a tight fit of the roll to vertical and other adjacent surfaces.

After these preparatory operations, the roll is carefully rolled to the middle from the side of the initial gluing.

Using a roofing knife, cut the adhesive film in the middle of the roll on the side where the roll is glued.

Separating the anti-adhesive film from the underside of the material web.

One of the workers pulls the adhesive strip towards himself, unwinding the roll, the second smoothes the material with a brush.

For better adhesion of the material in corners and in places adjacent to vertical walls, the material is rolled with a silicone roller.

When trying on a roll next row, it is laid with an overlap in the longitudinal direction of 80-100 mm.

In order to prepare for the formation of an end overlap, a corner of the material is cut off at the end of the roll. The size of the corner is 150 mm along and 80 - 100 mm across the roll.

Formation of side overlaps. The material of the adjacent row is also rolled to the middle and the siliconized film is cut. In the area of lateral overlap, a protective anti-adhesive film is pulled out from the seam of the material.

The second row of material is applied in the same way as the material of the first row is applied. The edge of the roll is smoothed to the base. The side overlaps are additionally rolled with a heavy roller, expelling air bubbles from the side overlap areas.

Formation of end overlaps. Along the entire end of the panel, to form a sealed end overlap, TECHNONICOL No. 22 (Vishera) adhesive mastic is applied, including the previously trimmed corner of the panel.

You should pay attention to the distance between the ends of adjacent canvases. The end overlaps of adjacent panels of material must be spaced at least 500 mm apart.

To glue the Technoelast BARRIER material to the base, its surface is rolled with a heavy cast-on roller.

6.3. Conjugation of vertical and horizontal waterproofing.

When placing the material on a vertical surface, pieces of material required in length are cut from the roll. The length of the piece is equal to the height of the insertion on the vertical surface + 150 mm (width of the overlap on the horizontal surface).

The material is tried on and bent along the horizontal-vertical transition line.

At the bend site, a protective anti-adhesive film is cut from the underside of the material along the entire bend line.

Remove the film from the part of the material that will be glued to the vertical surface.

The edge of the material is then glued to the vertical surface so that the edge of the material coincides with the edge of the primed surface.

The glued material is rolled with a silicone roller to expel air.

Remove the anti-adhesive film from the remaining part of the workpiece.

To the place of transition from horizontal surface on the vertical, place a roller of TECHNONICOL mastic No. 23 (Fixer). The mastic is applied using a gun.

When installing waterproofing from the self-adhesive material Technoelast BARRIER, special attention must be paid to the implementation of interface units with various structures (walls, round pipes), design of external and internal corners of the roof.

In corners, junctions of the material with round elements, in all places where the material experiences tension when gluing, the lower surface of the material is heated with hot air hair dryers.

7. Laying self-adhesive material on metal surfaces.

7.1. The material can be used for waterproofing pipes with an operating surface temperature not exceeding +45ºC.

7.2. During operation, the material must be protected from exposure to sunlight.

7.3. When using the Technoelast BARRIER material to protect welded joints of pipes and their surfaces from corrosion, the material is cut along the panel into strips depending on the diameter of the pipe.

7.4. Metal surfaces must be primed with mastic roofing TECHNONICOL No. 21 (Technomast). After the mastic has completely dried (there should be no traces left on the fingers when touched by hand), the material is glued on. The material is wrapped around the pipe with an overlap of at least 20-30 mm over the adjacent turn.

8. Options for cutting material when gluing external and internal corners of a waterproofed structure.

8.1. Option for cutting and laying material in the outer corner.

Bring the ends of the waterproofing material close to the wall. If necessary, cut the roll of material closest to the wall along the canvas.

Laying the material at the junction must begin from the corner. To do this, prepare two strips of material of the required length. The length is determined by the height of the insertion of the material onto the vertical wall and the amount of insertion onto the horizontal plane.

The material is placed on a horizontal surface at 150 mm.

Make cuts in the fabric according to the diagram below.

· Gluing the petal to the vertical wall.

Place the bitumen bead at the end junction of the material sheets to the wall.

Roll over areas where the material overlaps with a roller.

After external corner formed, a patch is placed on it using a hot air hair dryer.

8.2. Option for cutting and laying material in the inner corner of the structure.

Bring the ends of the waterproofing material close to the wall. If necessary, cut the roll of material closest to the wall along the canvas.

Laying the material at the junction must begin from the corner. To do this, prepare two strips of material of the required length. The length is determined by the height of the installation of the material on the vertical wall and the size of the installation on horizontal plane.

The material is placed on a horizontal surface at 150 mm.

Cut material blanks according to the diagram below.

Cut the anti-adhesive film along the fold lines.

Lay the workpiece by removing the anti-adhesive film from each section sequentially, in the following order:

· Laying on a vertical wall;

· Laying a roller of TECHNONICOL mastic No. 23 (Fixer) on the transition from horizontal to vertical surface;

· Laying on a horizontal plane (150 mm),

· Gluing the petal to the vertical wall.

The overlapping areas of the material are rolled with a roller.

The second blank is glued in the same order.

After internal corner formed, a patch made of Technoelast BARRIER material is placed on it using a hot air hair dryer.

9. QUALITY CONTROL OF WATERPROOFING.

ACCEPTANCE RULES.

9.1 Installation of waterproofing must be preceded by acceptance of the base or leveling layer. The contractor must provide the customer with a work log, test reports for the leveling layer material to determine strength, water resistance, frost resistance, humidity, as well as certificates for hidden work based on the results of instrumental monitoring of surface evenness and slopes. Upon acceptance of the leveling layer, its compliance with the requirements of Section 5 of this Manual is determined.

9.2. The evenness of the base is checked with a three-meter lath in accordance with GOST 2789-75*. The rail is laid on the surface of the base in the longitudinal and transverse directions and, using the included meter, the gaps are measured along the length, rounding the measurement results to 1 mm. Clearances under a three-meter rail should only be smooth in outline and no more than one per 1 m. The maximum depth of the gap is not must exceed 5 mm.

9.3. The moisture content of the base is assessed immediately before installing waterproofing using a non-destructive method using a surface moisture meter, for example, VSKM-12, or on concrete samples drilled from the leveling layer or roadway slab, in accordance with GOST 5802-86. Humidity is determined at three points on the insulated surface. For a base area of more than 500 m2, the number of measurement points is increased by one for every 500 m2, but not more than six points.

9.4. Before performing waterproofing, acceptance is carried out waterproofing materials according to passports in accordance with GOST 2678-94 and GOST 26627-85, comparing the physical and mechanical characteristics with those given in this Manual. At the customer's request for a control check physical and mechanical characteristics material tests are performed in accordance with Technical specifications for its production and GOST 2678-94. Determination of quantitative indicators of characteristics must also be carried out in the case of overdue warranty period storage of material. If the received materials do not comply with regulatory requirements, a defect report is drawn up and such materials are not used in the production of work.

9.5. When accepting the waterproofing, a visual inspection of its continuity is carried out over the entire waterproofing surface, and the presence of defects in the adhesion of the waterproofing is determined. The quality of waterproofing adhesion is determined visually by the presence or absence of bubbles and by tapping the waterproofing with a metal rod. Unglued areas are identified by a dull sound.

9.6. If there are bubbles in the waterproofing, indicating that it is not bonded to the base, they are eliminated. The bubble is cut crosswise. The unadhered ends of the material are folded back, TECHNONICOL No. 23 mastic (Fixer) is applied to the base and the bent edges are glued by rolling the area of the bubble with a roller. In place of the bubble, a patch is installed, covering the damaged area in all directions with 100 mm incisions. When installing the patch, the top surface is heated with a hot air dryer. No more than three patches per 100 m2 are allowed.

9.7. The adhesion of rolled materials is checked by a peel test, for which a U-shaped cut with side dimensions of 200x50x200 mm is made in the waterproofing material. The free end of the strip is torn and pulled at an angle of 120-180°. The rupture must be cohesive, i.e. delamination should occur along the thickness of the material. Based on the test results, a protocol is drawn up. The test must be carried out 1 day after gluing the waterproofing at a temperature not exceeding 30°C under the waterproofing.

9.8. The results of acceptance of waterproofing are documented in an act for hidden work in the established form.

10. SAFETY WHEN PERFORMING WATERPROOFING WORK.

Installation of the material is carried out at a temperature not lower than +5 ° C. At negative temperature It is recommended to preheat both the base and the waterproofing on the glued side. Good adhesion baseless self-adhesive material is provided by a specially prepared surface treated with a bitumen primer.

Technoelast Barrier BO sheets with a thickness of 1.5 mm can be laid on leveling layers of the following types:

  • gypsum fiber sheet;
  • plasterboard sheet;
  • moisture-resistant plywood;
  • asbestos cement sheet;
  • cement bonded particle board;
  • oriented strand board;
  • reinforced concrete load-bearing slabs;
  • metal.

Immediately after the bitumen primer has dried, the Technoelast Barrier BO sheet is rolled out over the surface and tried on. It is important that the material fits tightly to the protruding structural elements. Then the canvas is rolled from both sides to the center and the anti-adhesive film is cut in the middle. One of the workers carefully pulls out the protective layer, simultaneously unwinding the roll, and the second smoothes the waterproofing with a brush. Wrinkles and folds on the surface are not allowed. The size of the side overlaps should be at least 8 cm.
