On June 26, 2010, Rostelecom shareholders decided to reorganize the company in the form of merging all seven RTOs and OJSC Dagsvyazinform. Apparently, this is our Russian chaebol now: they grab everything that is bad, or even what is good, they still grab it.”

The name of Malofeev is associated with a scandal involving a VTB loan for the acquisition of six dairy enterprises from the Nutritek company. The value of the collateral was significantly inflated. Therefore, the main thing for me is that the changes that may occur do not affect the work of the company itself.”

Against the backdrop of reports about the sale of Rostelecom, the company's shares on the Russian market grew significantly. At the end of Thursday's trading, ordinary shares immediately jumped by 4.5% to 122 rubles 72 kopecks.

Growth will continue, Roman Tkachuk, senior analyst at the investment company Nord Capital, is confident: “Firstly, the conflict of shareholders is being resolved at Rostelecom. Last year, Konstantin Malofeev tried to become a deputy of the Znamensky village council in the Smolensk region. On April 1, 2011, CenterTelecom OJSC, Sibirtelecom OJSC, Dalsvyaz OJSC, Uralsvyazinform OJSC, VolgaTelecom OJSC, NWT OJSC, South Telecom OJSC and Dagsvyazinform OJSC were excluded from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities persons in connection with the merger with OJSC Rostelecom, which became the legal successor to all rights and obligations of these companies.

Merger of Svyazinvest

On May 20, 2011, the government commission approved the merger of Rostelecom and its owner, Svyazinvest, but will consider the final scenario later. Svyazinvest will soon own state-owned stakes in Ingushelectrosvyaz, Bashinformsvyaz, MMTS-9, Central Telegraph and Chukotkasvyazinform.
