LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator Operating Instructions. LG refrigerator operating instructions in Russian. Operation of start and sound signal circuits, door opening control circuits

LG refrigerators have taken a leading position in this technology segment. The company is considered a global innovation center. All brands of refrigerators, from two-door to complex French and American series, are well made and have a stylish design. There are almost no malfunctions of LG refrigerators during the warranty period. Often repairs are associated with voltage surges in the network - the electronics cannot withstand it. Buying modern model refrigerator, you need to take care of installing it through a voltage stabilizer.

LG refrigerators last a long time. However, technology tends to break down over time. From the first day of operation you need to take care of the unit electronic control and a compressor, especially an inverter one. Electronic program setup requires attention. Step-by-step instruction is stated in the corresponding section of the documentation for the device.

Some models are noted in reviews as being excessively noisy. Part of the reason lies in the quality of assembly at sites scattered around the world. However correct installation level, tightening the fasteners with your own hands, standard ventilation gaps will partially eliminate the noise of the LG refrigerator. Repair is required when extraneous knocking, whistling or strong heating of the compressor is added to the noise.

A breakdown is considered if one of the refrigerator chambers no longer maintains the set mode. There is ice in the freezer or sub-zero temperatures are observed in a cold cabinet. There may be several reasons:

  • failures in the automatic control system;
  • failure of temperature sensors;
  • relays are faulty;
  • cooling circuit problem associated with freon leak or compressor failure;
  • malfunction of the magnetic valve in a single-compressor two-chamber device.

A malfunction of the No Frost system of an LG refrigerator will indicate a violation temperature regime, icing inside the cooling chamber. The air cooling system for products is complex and balanced. The complex includes an evaporator, from which cold air is blown by a fan into the freezer. Then the gas air valve goes to heating the positive chamber. Problems may be related to:

  • the temperature sensor in the evaporator or chambers has failed;
  • the fan stopped working due to icing or motor failure;
  • The heating element does not work;
  • The air valve is not adjusted.

The appearance of ice in freezer, “fur coats” in the refrigerator indicates possible malfunction in the condensate drain circuit.

Valve malfunction refrigerator LG 479

Refrigerators of this series are characterized by two compartments powered by one compressor. In this regard, a magnetic valve is used to direct the flow of refrigerant cyclically and alternately into the chambers. If the magnetic valve for switching modes is “stuck,” then the temperature in the freezer will decrease and increase at the top. The unit cannot be repaired; the valve needs to be replaced.

Such malfunctions are typical for refrigerators, when on one compressor the mode in the chambers is independent, there are 2 control buttons. As a preventive measure, it is recommended to change the regimen, with a deviation from the average values, in case of emergency and for a short time.

Malfunctions of the LG refrigerator with the No Frost system of the GR brand - 389 SQF

Apparatus Russian assembly, two-chamber, with a “no frost” system, a large freezer at the bottom - has gained popularity in Russian families. Full No Frost, height 188, bottom freezer, LED lights and trouble-free operation for more than ten years - this is how users characterize the device.

A remote control with push-button mode switching signals deviations on the Freeze Temp display. After turning off the power, all settings are set to the middle position. The electronic module is located in the upper part under decorative panel. The built-in self-diagnosis mode can be activated manually, testing all systems will take 2 hours.

Typical faults detected during diagnostics:

  • the second light on the left indicates an open or shorted freezer sensor;
  • the fourth light on the left is on - there is a malfunction of the defrost sensor;
  • All the lights are on - No Frost is not working.

If ice is found under the bottom shelf of the freezer, the condensate drainage system is clogged. To clean it you will need to remove it. decorative cladding and find the drain hole. You can defrost the tube yourself. During all manipulations, the refrigerator must be de-energized.

If No Frost is working, the sensors are working properly - there is a problem in the cooling circuit. Only a master can check the amount of freon, whether there is a passage in the capillary tube, and the operability of the compressor.

A silver model with a linear inverter compressor, 200 cm high. A multi-flow cooling system and No Frost are used. Electronic control with self-diagnosis.

Analysis of equipment failures before completion warranty period shows that the model is reliable and rarely needs repairs. Main causes of breakdowns:

  • the starting relay does not work;
  • the electronic control unit burned out;
  • The temperature sensor has failed;
  • The sealing rubber has worn out.

Most often, problems arise in switching operating modes of two circuits or incorrect operation of the No Frost system. The inverter motor has a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. Continuous operation of the sealed circuit allows you to relieve pipe connections from starting shocks and vibration, preventing freon leakage.

Refrigerator LG GC -339NGLS - malfunctions

Model with a mirror front surface, two-chamber, with a bottom freezer. There is only one compressor. Electronic control. Defrosting upper chamber automatic, lower - manual.

Refrigerator malfunctions are related to their design:

  • The freezer or refrigerator does not work;
  • V refrigeration chamber a coat of ice is growing;
  • Water accumulates under the refrigerator drawers;
  • there are puddles on the floor, under the refrigerator.

If the regime in the chambers is disrupted, one of the temperature sensors may have failed. Another cause is often a malfunction of the bypass solenoid valve. The temperature in the refrigerator may be high due to the door not closing tightly or the rubber seal being worn out. It happens that the contact is broken, the light in the chamber is on even when the door is closed.

If you have done everything that the instructions prescribe, all that remains is to call a specialist. He will establish the reasons. In addition to the listed malfunctions, there may be:

  • Freon leakage from a damaged circuit;
  • malfunction of the compressor or engine start relay;
  • Compressor tube clogged.

The signs of problems are similar, and only a specialist can find and fix the problem.

Faults in the LG GA-B409 UEQA refrigerator

Two-chamber refrigerator, beige colour with a quiet inverter compressor and a No Frost full defrosting system. The freezer compartment is located at the bottom. Electronic control, push-button display. No temperature display. The illumination is produced by an incandescent lamp.

The malfunctions of the LG refrigerator of this model and their solutions are not original. But use inverter compressor Relieves problems with the refrigerant circuit. Isobutane is used and the capillary tube is unlikely to clog. Radiator leaks are rare. Therefore the circuit is reliable.

Problems may arise with the No Frost system, the serviceability of temperature sensors and relays, and the removal of condensate. A specialist can determine the exact reason why it is warm in the plus chamber, but ice freezes in the freezer. It is the user's responsibility to comply with the operating conditions.

We invite you to look at a review of the LG refrigerator model.

LG refrigerator malfunction

Many housewives know about the need for preventative measures in the refrigerator. These include defrosting the device, which helps to update the operation of the entire device and significantly extend the life of the unit.

Before defrosting the LV refrigerator, make sure that you have removed all stored food from the chambers. Further follow the simple step by step instructions:

  1. Disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply. Carefully remove the plug from the socket; under no circumstances should you pull the cord (this element of the LV refrigerator device often fails).
  2. We remove all shelves and trays of the device. They need to be washed under running water and left to dry.
  3. We are waiting for the unit to completely defrost. Ideally, defrosting should take place within two days; it is during this time that the ice has time to melt even in the most inaccessible corners of the mechanism. If you have an alternative to the refrigerator, temporary storage for provisions, then you are in luck. How to defrost an LG refrigerator if there is no such alternative? You just have to limit yourself to three hours of patient waiting. Under no circumstances should you manually remove ice crust or snow “coat” from the chambers using sharp objects! This can cause irreparable damage to many parts of the device, in particular the evaporator.
  4. Place a rag cloth at the bottom of the chambers to absorb melt water.
  5. After complete defrosting, carefully wipe the inner walls of the unit’s chambers. If you do not wipe them dry, there is a risk of a new ice crust forming from the remnants of melt water. In this case, preventive measures will turn into a waste of time.
  6. When the refrigerator compartments are dry, it's time to return the removable shelves to their place. We connect the refrigerator and enjoy its proper operation!

Remember: The presence of the “No Frost” auto-defrosting system does not free you from the need for manual defrosting. Why? Prevention involves periodic cleaning of the device. This helps eliminate pockets of potential unpleasant odor. Bacteria accumulate in drainage pipes and meltwater gutters and can be a source of unwanted odor.

Now you know how to defrost an LG refrigerator and provide it long years good service.

Don't forget about the importance of preventive measures and take care of your equipment!

Today I will talk about the properties and characteristics of the most versatile refrigerators with bottom position freezer compartment and No Frost function. There are several interesting samples included in the review, so let's try to choose the best one.

I have already said that this review includes quite interesting models, not without important features. Now I will tell you what unique characteristics each manufacturer is ready to boast of.

It will be useful for you to know the following:

  • LG– Korean technology has long earned recognition all over the world, and I frankly like the sample presented in the review. Firstly, you will receive a device with excellent assembly, reliable electronics, high quality components and so on. The brand is no stranger to innovation and makes technologically advanced refrigerators;
  • BoschGerman manufacturer presented a good model, although Lately The deterioration in the quality of some refrigerators is obvious. In the refrigerator I reviewed, I saw a decent SKD assembly and quite reliable electronics. The compressors, however, are Chinese, but they are also capable of a long service life;
  • MitsubishiElectric– the venerable Japanese brand is practically the leader in this review. Such units are assembled perfectly, they delight with accessible and reliable control and high functionality. In addition, in such refrigerators the ergonomics are always thought out to the smallest detail. Making the most of usable space– it’s in the Japanese blood.

I will cover more specific features in practical description each sample. Now I propose to get acquainted with other – no less important – information.

Advantages and disadvantages

Buying any equipment has both positive and negative sides. That is why I propose to consider refrigerators with a bottom freezer in this vein.

The advantages can be safely summarized in the following list:

  • All presented devices are functional. You will be able to evaluate all the possibilities of the freshness zone, full automatic defrosting, etc.;
  • I can assure you that this type of device is very convenient to use. I think you could see this for yourself more than once;
  • low energy consumption – in this case we can talk about pleasant, economical operation;
  • I would also like to note the non-trivial design of the review samples;
  • count on excellent quality and shelf life of food - both Asians and Germans provide this in full;
  • the last thing I want to say is the well-thought-out internal ergonomics and high usable volume;
  • affordable price.

There are also disadvantages and we can talk about them in this way:

  • Noisy operation of the compressor cannot be ruled out.

What to pay attention to

You must understand that when choosing a refrigerator, you should analyze it specifications. This is the only way to purchase a truly worthwhile model. In turn, I will give a few additional recommendations on this score.

Attention to general characteristics

This review presents refrigerators with a bottom freezer. This is an excellent solution that will be very appropriate in everyday life. Practice shows that these devices are successfully used under standard conditions, including in a small kitchen.

Some diversity is visible in color scheme review samples, although the body finish remains standard. I see plastic-metal, which is also very practical and reliable. According to these parameters, there are no obstacles to selection.

Control type

If we talk about choosing the type of control, I would recommend taking a closer look at Japanese mechanics. Such a system will operate uninterruptedly for almost a hundred years. However, if you value high precision settings, pay attention to Korean electronics. Experience shows that electronic components LG do not tend to have their head in the clouds and are minimally susceptible to various types of breakdowns. If we talk about German technology, the quality is not as stable as we would like. But, as part of the review, you can count on reliable electronic components.

Energy efficiency

Almost everything modern devices energy efficient and do not consume a significant portion of electricity even when operating around the clock. The presented models are not far behind - you will receive classes A, A+. The Japanese model is somewhat disappointing, here I see class B, but, frankly speaking, it allows you to count on savings.

Compressor and refrigerant

This review includes models with different types motors and coolant. As an expert I can say that best choice will be isobutane inverter from LG. The unit has a long warranty, and in practice it turned out to be quite good. The Germans and Japanese offer a simpler solution, but this does not mean that it is less reliable. This choice also has its place, however, you will lose a little in energy efficiency and wear resistance.

Do you need a freshness zone?

The zero compartment will be useful to you if you want to prolong the freshness of food without resorting to freezing. An optimal temperature level is maintained in the freshness zone, which opens up new possibilities in storing fish, meat, cheeses, etc. In my opinion, this is a very useful thing, although it eats up part of the useful volume.

Defrost type

Full automatic defrosting will greatly simplify your life. You can forget about such concepts as frost, ice in the refrigerator and manual defrosting. I would like to note that in all the presented refrigerators the system works perfectly, however, the products will have to be stored packaged.

Functionality and additional options

So that you get confused in all the heap of information presented, I will give short description each realized opportunity:

  • super cooling and super freezing– such options will be very useful in everyday life. By activating the mode, you can quickly cool or freeze any product, which is very important in practice;
  • indication– sound and light signaling will help you respond to a problem in a timely manner and simplifies visual monitoring of the operation of the unit. Such options are also quite useful;
  • antibacterial coating– a special layer suppresses the activity of bacteria, thereby increasing the storage time of food, and there will be no unpleasant odors at all;
  • vacation mode– this thing will help out if you have to leave home for a long time. By activating the mode, you can make the operation of the device very, very economical;
  • autonomous cold storage– the mode is very relevant during a power outage. The device itself will maintain the temperature inside the chambers, which will not allow all the supplies placed inside to deteriorate;
  • freezing power– the capacity of the freezer compartment tells you how many kilograms of food you can turn to stone in 24 hours. When choosing, be guided by your actual needs. The pursuit of maximum performance is pointless here.

Now it is advisable to check the practical-everyday properties of refrigerators.

LG GA-B419 SQQL

I'm not a fan of all kinds of designer things, but the model LG GA-B419 SQQL immediately attracts attention with its futuristic appearance. There is something cosmic and incredibly pleasant about it purely from a visual point of view. But let's see what's inside.

When I opened the door, I was surprised how carefully thought out the internal ergonomics of the refrigeration compartment. Not a millimeter of usable space was eaten up by volumetric lamps or other convex elements, which I noticed that competitors often introduce for greater manufacturability. It's a pleasure to deal with a professional approach!

Continuing to evaluate the refrigeration compartment, I can assure you that the quality of food storage will remain high. It doesn't even require supercooling. The airflow holes are placed so that the system already provides optimal multi-threaded cooling total volume, regardless of which shelf you place the product on. I will note that there are four shelves, three you can rearrange in height, one you can fold in order to put something tall.

I would like to draw your attention to an interesting door. The shelves are distributed in such a way that they can be equated to a mini-refrigerator compartment. There is plenty of space for placing juices and lemonades. And the rest six containers are so voluminous that they can easily accommodate half of a week’s purchases. By the way, the two upper trays are equipped with lids, which will be very useful in everyday life.

If we talk about the freezer compartment, its performance is also not satisfactory. In addition to three spacious boxes There is a special shelf for freezing. It’s convenient to place ice trays, homemade ice cream, a tray with freshly put dumplings, etc. here. In everyday life, this will result in the fact that you will not have to open drawers in search of the required freezing, losing precious cold. A very appropriate decision!

I will describe the practical advantages of the device as follows:

  • I already talked about good quality assembly of LG refrigerators and I want to emphasize that the freon is driven by a fairly reliable SmartInvertor compressor. Indirect confirmation of my rightness is the 10-year manufacturer's warranty on this motor. Personally, as an expert, the unit does not cause any complaints;
  • without paying too much money, you get excellent quality freezing/cooling/automatic defrosting;
  • the system operates quietly. The entire set of sounds that I listed at the beginning of the review will not irritate your ears, even if they are quite sensitive;
  • economical operation;
  • optimal capacity of two compartments + excellent ergonomics;
  • the functionality and ease of electronic control meet all expectations;
  • The external ergonomics of the device do not lag behind the internal ones in terms of efficiency. If you look at the unit from the back, you will see only a smooth, neat surface.

I looked for a long time for something to complain about, but I couldn’t find any really significant disadvantages.

Video review of similar refrigerators in the video below:

Bosch KGN39XK18

This device is bright representative Crystal series. Unlike similar models, the entire device is presented in one color - both the body and the door are beige. I'm sure someone will like this warm and restrained tone.

If we take a look at the internal ergonomics, we also see a number of significant differences. The refrigerator compartment has two glass shelves, adjustable in height, a box where the temperature is maintained at about 0°C (the so-called freshness zone) and a box for storing vegetables and fruits. If you wish, you can organize the space at your own discretion by ordering additional shelves. There are also several shelves on the door: one large and three small. A completely standard solution that will help you place a bunch of small items and bottles.

Others technical differences I didn't reveal it. The model is equipped with a system that ensures uniform temperature distribution throughout the entire volume refrigerator compartment and carbon filters . The set of options and functionality is typical for this series: super freezing, super cooling, freshness zone.

The practical advantages of the refrigerator are:

  • This model has a display, a freshness zone and an additional bottle holder. Some housewives will find this quite appropriate;
  • The refrigerator and freezer compartments are quite spacious, so there will be no problems with storing everything tasty;
  • low energy consumption makes you think about very economical operation;
  • the device is easy to maintain, but will require regular hygienic cleaning (about 2 times a year);
  • The model copes well with its main purpose - freezing and cooling products. In everyday life, the functions of super cooling and super freezing are added;
  • In conclusion, I note that the refrigerator is quite functional.

Among the disadvantages I can note several properties:

  • The device is equipped with carbon filters that require periodic replacement. These are expenses that fall on your shoulders;
  • do not count on very quiet operation of the compressor and fan;
  • I didn't like the built-in ones plastic handles. The remaining models feature aluminum products. I don’t understand why there is plastic here. However, the model is cheaper than the others, maybe this is the reason.

Video review of the same type of refrigerator in this line:

Mitsubishi Electric MR-CR46G-HS-R

An almost standard sample for the brand, presented in silver. We see an excellent usable volume, a separate spacious compartment for vegetables and fruits and full automatic defrosting. All these positive characteristics are enhanced by the vigorous work of a chic Japanese inverter. Sure, the motor will exhaust its service life, not earlier than in 25 years, he is so playful and perfectly composed.

A deodorizer provides a comfortable microclimate inside the refrigerator cabinet. Keep in mind that all rubber seals are equipped with antibacterial coating which is really useful.

If we talk about the freezer compartment, it is divided into upper and lower. In addition, there is a separate drawer and spoon for ice. The refrigerator compartment is successfully visible, which is a merit LED lighting. There is no doubt about the convenience of placing everything delicious - the Japanese have thought through everything to the smallest detail. By the way, The compartment has a unique folding shelf, so even a large saucepan can fit there without difficulty.

  • the manufacturer could have provided higher energy efficiency;
  • One can only guess about the freezing power parameters.
  • Video review of this model, see the video below:

    conclusions

    If we talk about some results, the review turned out to be quite good. I didn’t see any outright defects, and the cost of the devices cannot be called too expensive. However, I will provide final recommendations for choosing below.

    If you want to save

    In this context, the model is very relevant LG GA-B419 SQQL. I would call this option optimal choice. You get an economical and high-quality device, devoid of any pitfalls. Overall, the Koreans offer a refrigerator that deserves the laurels of review leader. In addition, I advise you to get acquainted with the selection of refrigerators with a bottom freezer Liebherr. The Germans also offer very interesting options.

    If you need maximum functionality

    A refrigerator falls under this selection criterion Mitsubishi Electric M.R.CR46 GH.S.R. Right here a comprehensive set of options is presented, plus, the unit is rightfully considered the quietest. As an expert I can say that Japanese technology It is stable and will easily serve for a couple of decades. However, this model inferior to competitors in energy efficiency.

    Not bad functionality the company offers Bosch. But the device presented in the review showed the most shortcomings. In fact, the disadvantages are not critical and the model Bosch KGN39XK18 can also be a good choice.

    1.Can be customized optimal temperature to preserve the freshness of food in the two-chamber LG Total No Frost. The refrigerator has zero temperature zoneFresh0 Zone. This is a special compartment for storing fresh meat and seafood until cooking without freezing.

    2.The LG Total No Frost two-chamber refrigerator not only ensures high-quality food preservation, but also continuous operation without breakdowns or interruptions. The inverter linear compressor is a technological development of LG. Thanks to linear design, adjustable operating power, optimal energy consumption, the refrigerator saves up to 45% of electricity and has a classA++, which is the highest figure in the European classification. The presence of an inverter linear compressor in the refrigerator provides a guarantee of 10 years of operation. The energy of the LG linear compressor is used in the ventilation system, providing circulation air flow inside the refrigerator, thanks to which the products remain fresh much longer and retain their taste.

    3. Ventilation systemMultiAirFlow distributes cold air evenly throughout the refrigerator, maintaining required temperature storage for each product. And the Total No Frost function makes it possible to store food on any shelf, since the appearance of condensation and, as a result, unpleasant odors in the refrigerator is completely eliminated. Warm products cool faster than other refrigerators. Refrigerators with Total No Frost technology no longer require defrosting the freezer.

    4. Another one interesting technology - MoistBalanceCrisper- retains optimal moisture in vegetables and fruits, thanks to the innovative cellular surface of the shelves.

    5. Intelligent system diagnosticsSmartDiagnosis will save your time in case of malfunctions. You no longer need to wait for the technician to arrive - through the phone and a smartphone application, the service center employee tells you the combination of buttons that must be pressed on the control panel, after which you need to bring the phone microphone to the speaker built into the refrigerator, which will sound a sound combination. Special equipment in the service center will decipher this combination and display information about the malfunction on the technician’s display without a diagnostic visit.

    Today, LG Total No Frost refrigerators incorporate everything best technologies, which make it clear that food storage can be useful, safe and, at the same time, exquisitely simple.

    Please read the following instructions before servicing your refrigerator.

    1. Check the insulation resistance of the device.
    2. Disconnect the device from the mains before service to prevent electric shock.
    3. Whenever testing is performed while the power is on, wear rubber gloves to avoid electric shock.
    4. When using any instrument, check that it is suitable for measuring current, voltage and power.
    5. Don't touch metal products in the freezer with wet hands. This may cause frostbite.
    6. Make sure that water does not get on electrical elements from mechanical parts.
    7. When checking the bottom section of the refrigerator with the top door open, move carefully to avoid hitting the top door.
    8. When it is necessary to tilt the appliance, remove any materials from the shelves and the shelves themselves, especially glass ones.
    9. When servicing the evaporator, wear cotton gloves. This is necessary to prevent injury from sharp edges.
    10. Carry out repairs to the refrigeration circuit at a specialized service center. Gas inside the circuit may pollute the environment.

    Test the refrigerator by connecting it to electrical network before the refueling operation. It is necessary to establish the operability of the motor-compressor and immediately identify defects in the entire system. If defects are found, possible residual R134a refrigerant is removed by breaking the end of the tube in a narrow place. ( Rice. 1)

    Replace the filter and any damaged components. Unsolder and remove a piece of the remaining tube and then solder the tube with the Hansen coupling in the same place. ( Rice. 2)

    The soldering operation must be carried out with the valve open so that flux vapor can escape freely. The soldering must be without cavities between the two tubes; it must be taken into account that during the heating process the soldering point expands. The tube is equipped with a male Hansen coupling and is connected to the vacuum pump tube. ( Rice. 3)

    Air begins to be pumped out of the system after the pump starts. The cooling system must be under vacuum until the vacuum pressure gauge reads (0 absolute, -1 atm., -760 mm Hg), in any case it is advisable for the pump to run for approximately 30 minutes. ( Rice. 3)

    If a leak is detected, it is necessary to stop the vacuum pump and add a small amount of freon to the system; if a vacuum cannot be obtained (the pressure gauge cannot drop to -1 atmosphere), start the refrigeration unit and find the leak using a leak detector. If the soldering is defective, when the valve is opened, the normal external pressure inside the circuit is not restored. This happens because solder residue is sucked into the tube and blocks it; the pressure must be equalized when the valve opens.

    Once evacuation is complete, add the required number of grams of R134a to the refrigeration circuit. Remember that each system must be charged with the exact amount of R134a within a tolerance of ±5 grams. ( Rice. 4)

    Before performing this operation (if the vacuum pump and charge cylinder are connected), make sure that the valve in front of the vacuum pump is closed to preserve the freon when added to the system. ( Rice. 5)

    Also, check the graduated scale on the cylinder for the amount of R134a that will be added, for example, if we have 750 grams of Freon in the cylinder and need to add 165 grams to the circuit, this result will be achieved when the R-134a has dropped to 585 grams. monitoring this using an indicator. Do this after selecting the appropriate scale for the gas pressure, the gas pressure is indicated by the pressure gauge on the top of the column.

    To allow R134a to enter the system, open the valve at the base of the cylinder connected to the charging tube. Freon cannot be added to the system all at once, because this can lead to blocking of the motor-compressor. After adding about 20-30 g, you must immediately close the feed.

    The pressure rises and the compressor motor sucks in gas and the pressure drops again. The control valve is opened again until filling is reached. required quantity R134a. When the system is operating, the inlet pressure should be stabilized between 0.30 and 0.6 atmospheres.

    2) Replace the heater and connect the wires.

    Note: option B is used only in Europe.

    7. Setup

    1. COMPRESSOR

    1) Description

    The compressor sucks vapors from the evaporator at low temperature and pressure. It is compressed and forced under high pressure into the condenser, where cooling and condensation occurs. A compressor is needed to circulate the refrigerant.

    2) Composition

    The compressor consists of a gas compression mechanism, a compressor motor, starting equipment and compressor protection. The starting device (PTC-Starter) and the overload protection relay (Protector (OLP)) are located outside the compressor. Since the compressor is made of precision components with 1/1000mm precision machining, it is sealed in production to be free from dust and moisture. When repairing your compressor, use caution.

    3) Note!

    (1) Be careful not to overvoltage or overcurrent the appliance.

    (2) Protect the compressor from shocks

    If you apply excessive force or impact (fall or careless handling), breakage and operation noise may occur.

    (3) Use the appropriate electrical components designed for this compressor.

    (4) Pay attention to compressor storage.

    If the compressor gets wet in the rain and rust gets into the connector, the result may be poor performance and poor contact.

    (5) Be careful not to allow dust, moisture or flux to enter the compressor when replacing. Dust, moisture, and solder residues inside the cylinders can cause noise when passing through the valves.

    2. PTC-Starter (starting device)

    1) Description of PTC-Starter

    (1) PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) is a non-contact semiconductor trigger that uses BaTiO 3 based ceramic material.

    (2) The higher the temperature, the higher the resistance value becomes. These capabilities are used as a starting device for the engine.

    2) PTC-Starter function

    (1) The PTC is included with the hermetic compressor and is used for starting.

    (2) The refrigerator compressor is a single-phase asynchronous motor. For normal operation single-phase asynchronous motor, when starting, the current must flow through the main and starting windings. After the engine accelerates, the current in the starting winding is turned off. PTC features make this possible. Thus, PTC is used as a motor starting device.

    4) Engine restart and PTC cooling

    (1) To restart after a power failure during normal engine operation, unplug the power cord for 5 min. to equalize pressure in the cooling cycle and PTC cooling.

    (2) During normal operation of the engine compressor, PTC elements generate heat continuously. Thus, if the PTC does not cool for a while after the engine is turned off, it will not be able to operate again.

    5) Interaction between PTC-Starter and OLP (protection)

    (1) If the power is turned off while the compressor is running and the power is turned on before the PTC cools down (momentary shutdown within 2 minutes or reconnect the plug), the PTC is not cooled and the resistance is high. As a result, current cannot flow in the starting winding and the motor cannot start. In this case, OLP is triggered due to the increased current of the main coil.

    (2) The OLP turns off the power for 3-5 minutes, the PTC cools down and the compressor motor returns to normal operation. If the OLP does not work, then the PTC does not cool, the engine compressor overheats, which causes a short circuit. Therefore, using a working OLP is mandatory.

    6) Please pay attention to the use of PTC-Starter

    (1) Be careful to avoid overvoltage and overcurrent.

    (2) Protect your device from shocks

    Do not use excessive force or hit.

    (3) Store separately from any liquids.

    If liquid such as gasoline or water gets into the PTC, it may break due to the deterioration of the insulation of the PTC materials.

    (4) Do not repair the PTC.

    Do not disassemble the PTC housing. If the outer PTC housing is damaged, the resistance changes and may cause poor starting and compressor damage.

    (5) Use only original PTC.

    3. OLP (OVERLOAD PROTECTION)

    1) Description of OLP

    (1) The OLP (Overload Protection) device is included with the compressor and protects the motor from short circuit current and excessive temperature rise in the compressor motor.

    (2) When the compressor motor is overloaded, the bimetallic strip, when heated by the heater inside the OLP, opens the contacts and protects the motor by cutting off the current that exceeds the permissible current for the compressor motor.

    2) OLP function

    (1) The OLP is connected to the compressor circuits and is used to protect the compressor windings from overheating.

    (2) Do not turn the OLP adjustment screw in any way.

    Description of the components

    Note: Option B is only used in Europe.

    The secondary winding of the transformer is connected to electrical circuits that provide power to the control relays and actuators (12V direct current) and control module power supply (MICOM and IC, 5 VDC). The voltage in each part is as follows.

    VA1 is an element for overvoltage and interference protection. When voltage greater than 385V is applied, a fuse (130°C cut-off, optional) disconnects the primary winding of the transformer so that the elements on the secondary side of the transformer are protected.

    The clock generation circuit provides internal local elements to IC1 for transmitting and receiving information and for calculating the main operating time. Only use the original OSC 1 resonator. Because if replaced, the calculated time in IC1 will change or IC1 will not be able to work.

    All MICOM processor internals (IC1) are restored to their original state after the MICOM power is temporarily removed and power is initially applied. As a result, all functions operate in accordance with the original state. During the initial "LOW" power supply period, voltage is applied to the RESET, MICOM pin for a short fixed time. The RESET pin is supplied with 5V during startup operation.

    4. OPERATION OF START AND SOUND SIGNAL CIRCUIT, DOOR OPEN CONTROL CIRCUIT.

    *NOTE: If you are replacing a DOOR S/W-R type (door switch), you must refer to the part number description. Because this type of door switch S/WR is not for MICOM MODELS, and has reverse logic of contacts [A], [B] DOOR S/W-R.

    Even if the LAMP-R (lamp) works normally ON/OFF when opening/closing, but the processor failed to detect through the wires [ A], [IN] DOOR-R open or closed state, DOOR S/W-R switch is faulty.

    ● Temperature compensation table adjusts the resistance value. (temperature difference compared to the current one)

    For example: If the compensation resistance of the freezer is changed from 10 kΩ (current resistance) to 18 kΩ (replaced resistance), the temperature in the freezer increases by +2 °C.

    ● AMBIENT TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION.

    ● This circuit is designed to input the required temperature compensation value into the processor in order to adjust the freezer temperature, which is different in each model.
