Cup of flower waterfall. A floating cup is a waterfall. Floating cup video

A floating cup is a symbol of attracting money. The inexhaustible flow of coins visually resembles a waterfall, and the miraculously hanging container over the saucer adds mysticism to this product. Maybe this souvenir can attract money into the house? Or maybe it's just beautiful decoration? Everyone can decide for themselves, because making such a craft is not difficult even for a child or a woman, since no special skills are required when working on the product.

To work we need:
small denomination coins (kopecks, five kopecks); a spoon, fork or other vertical device that acts as a structure holder; cup; saucer; electrical tape or tape (you can use a heat gun for fixation); glue; tools.

First, bend a spoon or fork with pliers (in this case I used a mini ladle, but not everyone has one) so that one part cutlery was bent in one direction, the other, respectively, in the opposite direction.

This is the future frame of the product. It can be wrapped with electrical tape.
Next, use electrical tape to attach top part cutlery to the cup, the lower one to the saucer.

It is important that the parts are tightly attached - the structure must be stable.
Then you should apply glue to the saucer. Pour some coins there, building a slide. Repeat the same manipulations with the cup. Wait a bit until the coins harden.

Then also glue coins along the trunk of the cutlery so that it looks like a flowing stream of money.
Now your money waterfall - floating cup is ready!

Since I work as a teacher at school and also lead a “Handicraft” club, I often work with children with plastic bottles: we make flowers, leaves, trees, and we made “rock” waterfalls from stones. And then I wanted something unusual and airy, and through trial and error I came up with this result: final result I really liked it. I took a photo of the “Do-it-yourself soaring waterfall” master class, which may not be entirely correct, but I tried to make it clear and accessible to everyone.

Photo 1. All you need for the job: a plastic bottle, and if you find a little blue it will be even better - the color of natural water, a bowl and saucer, Titan glue, a glue gun, shells, pebbles, transparent glass marbles, grass plastic.

Photo 2. A closer look at Titan glue.

Photo 3. Cut it plastic bottle into 4 parts.

Photo 4. 4 blank parts, only one is needed, well, if you don’t plan to make 4 glasses at once.

Photo 5. Correcting.

Photo 6. We singe the blanks on a candle, but I like it better gas stove- does not smoke.

Photo 7. It is necessary that both tails turn in different directions, adjust.

Photo 8. We try on one tail end to the cup in inner side and glue it with Titanium glue.

Photo 9. You need to press it for a while, as Titan takes a long time to dry.

Photo 10. After some time, pour glue over the entire plastic blank, but little by little, because... needs to be watered several times.

Photo 11. Coat it again, but be careful, the plastic blank is always trying to come off, so constantly adjust it.

Photo 12. Try to let the excess glue down so that it looks like a stream of water.

Photo 13. I let it drip over the entire surface and along the edges too.

Photo 14. Bubbles appear on their own.

Photo 15. I secured the plastic blank with a toothpick so that it would stick, but it constantly slips, so for now in this position I put it on what I found, in this case a pot of glass - marbles.

Photo 16. Closer

Photo 17. The glue constantly flows down, I try to pull it to the top with a toothpick, but the water should flow from top to bottom, so adjust it sometimes.

Photo 18. Side view.

Photo 19. Front view.

Photo 20. Let's continue. A small nuance, our water may not stick, then we glue it with hot glue.

Photo 21. Glue the waterfall to the saucer with the same hot glue.

Photo 22. The structure of the floating waterfall is not yet completely stable; it leans back, so support is needed.

Photo 23. We use stones for support, that’s why I use a large pebble, it will be our “rock” behind the waterfall, we glue it with hot glue.

Photo 24. We need to wait a minute for our structure to remain stable.

Photo 25-27. We wait.

Photo 28. Now we begin to decorate at our own discretion. I built from what I found in this moment I have a dolphin keychain.

DIY floating cup: everything from an overview of materials and assembly process to decorating in many ways!

floating cup is a type of topiary, a tree of happiness and prosperity. Creating a floating cup with your own hands is a creative, very exciting and low-cost process, and its result will delight you!)

The flying bowl looks very attractive and will add additional coziness and comfort to any home or office interior. Can be a wonderful gift for your loved ones and colleagues! Making a floating mug will not be difficult, the main thing is to know the basic principle of its manufacture and pay attention Special attention details and colors.

Master - Ovchinnikova Yaroslava

Materials

1) tea or coffee pair (cup and saucer)

2) glue to connect the “spouting” structure with a bowl and saucer. It is better to use the universal Moment gel adhesive for ceramics, plastic or glass.

An alternative can be any other adhesive designed to work with smooth surfaces. A glue gun is also used, but it is intended mainly for working with rough surfaces.

There is a possibility that the cup will come off in the near future after gluing.

3) thickwire, or triple wires. You can use other flexible items, such as old aluminum forks or spoons, or a metal hanger.

4) polymorphus ( superplastic) is a self-hardening thermoplastic. When heated, it becomes plastic and convenient for giving it the desired shape. When cooled, it becomes hard, elastic and durable.

5) painting scotch– they can replace superplastic

6) modeling mass, can also replace polymorphus. It resembles plasticine, but unlike it, it hardens well in air. Contains natural ingredients(cereal flour dough), therefore absolutely safe for children.

7) decoration items cups: coins, flowers, cones, feathers, candies, beads, buttons, ribbons and much, much more.

The process of creating a floating mug is not at all complicated, but there are several important nuances, which must be taken into account when creating it.

The main secret in creating a flying bowl is making the right choice tea pair. The cup and saucer should not be too heavy. If you take this condition into account, it will be easier to create a flying bowl!

We construct the base of the floating cup; this is the element that connects the saucer to the cup. To do this we take a wire required length. It is important to note that the distance between the bowl and saucer should be approximately two cups. With these parameters, the flying cup will look most balanced.

Inside the bowl we form a loop from the wire, the diameter of which should be 2-4 cm. This will help to achieve better fixation of the wire in the cup. We twist the second end of the wire into a flat spiral in two or three turns. This way we will get a kind of stand, which we will fix in the saucer.

The tilt radius of the resulting structure should not exceed 45 degrees, otherwise the structure will be unstable!

Polymorphus is the most best material when making a flying cup.

Take a piece of polymorphus and immerse it in hot water for 20 seconds. During this time, the material is converted into soft plastic.

With the resulting plastic, like plasticine, we stick to the base, giving the required form. If the plastic hardens before you finish the job, simply dip it back into hot water. The prepared base will completely harden within 15 minutes.

If you don’t have this material on hand, you can use modeling compound. An alternative to these two materials can be masking tape, which is simply wrapped around the wire base. Or you can wrap the wire with felt or other fabric, after coating it with glue.

An important aspect is to constantly try on the base on a saucer with a cup in order to spot any shortcomings in time!

You should pay special attention to the edge of your cup in the place where the structure will be attached!

In this place it is necessary to make a kind of step in the form of a support. This way the structure will hold much more securely.

When the base is ready, you can begin fixing it on the cup. Lubricate with glue all surfaces of the base in contact with the saucer and cup. Press firmly and hold for 3-5 minutes. Don't forget to glue a step to support the cup!

We fix the flying cup on soft objects in the desired direction and leave it in this position for 5 hours. During this time, the glue will dry well and securely fix the resulting floating bowl.

When the floating cup is well glued, you need to check how stable it is.

If the saucer is not able to hold the cup, then it is necessary to reduce the radius of the structure until it becomes stable.

The last stage of making a flying bowl is the most interesting and creative. Decorating a spill cup! Apply adhesive gel to decorative elements and glue it.

It is better to glue the large elements first, and glue the smaller ones last. This will hide small visible defects and gaps between elements.

After all the decorations are glued, you need to let the cup stand for 5 hours so that the glue dries.

The process of assembling a flying bowl is discussed in detail in the master class

Coffee beans are still one of the most popular materials used in decoration. It is very easy to create such a floating mug, but there are a few secrets.

1. When creating a flying bowl, it is better to wrap the base with masking tape. Next, the resulting “slide” should be painted in the color of coffee acrylic paint so that the base does not show through between the grains.

2. Another option is to wrap the base with brown fabric.

After this, you can start gluing the coffee beans. There is also one important nuance here.

If you use hot glue, it is better to apply it to the grains themselves, and not to the base. This way, glue smudges will not be visible.

Photos in any work are an integral part of the description, here too it’s impossible without it. After all, to repeat the work, descriptions are not always enough, and then step-by-step photographs or videos should come to the rescue.

I’ll show you a little lower, but for now I suggest you admire the photo of the floating cups.

These are just a few options, there are many more, and I will introduce you to some of them today. I’ll tell you a few master classes, and also reveal secrets that you won’t find anywhere.

How to make a floating cup

For this master class, as for many others, first of all you will need a cup or mug with a plate. I don’t recommend taking a large plate; a regular saucer will do just fine. Although if you are making a composition with a waterfall, then you will need a slightly larger plate for a beautiful design.

This work cannot be done without glue, scissors, wire and a base component. I don’t call the cup the basis, but what you use to make it with, flowers or coffee, for example.

The principle of a master class is the same everywhere, they differ only in some subtleties and sizes. You can see all this in the photo under each detailed description.

DIY floating cup master class

Let's start, friends, and get to work. Now I will describe in detail how to make a floating cup with your own hands with flowers, coffee, coins, kanzashi and even a waterfall.

Floating cup with flowers

It seems like just recently I was showing off my floating mug on my website, talking about how to make it beautifully with my own hands, describing each step step by step and showing photos.

Today I will again touch on this topic and a cup with flowers, and if you want to read the master class in more detail, I recommend clicking right here.

To create a cup with flowers you will need

  • Saucer
  • Mug
  • A piece of cable
  • Artificial flowers
  • Scissors

In fact, plaster can be replaced with hot glue, but it does not hold very tightly and you need a lot of it. This is up to your discretion, I’ll just share the photo and you can clearly see how the mug and saucer are held together.

So far there are no flowers, no kanzashi, no coffee with coins, just a skeleton. Please note that I connected two objects together with an electrical cable; many people use a regular kitchen fork, but I didn’t have an extra fork at home for creativity.

The next thing you need to do is divide the artificial flowers into separate buds or inflorescences and glue them one by one onto the cable. Here I recommend using a glue gun.

The order of gluing the flowers should be from top to bottom, this will make it easier for you to shape the cup with flowers. I added a few lemons to the flowers, and in the end I got this floating cup with flowers and two fruits.

The photo shows that the cup is very high, but they can be made much lower. For example, a cup of coffee is almost half the height.

Floating cup of coffee

A floating coffee mug also consists of a cup, saucer, glue, and naturally aromatic coffee beans.

The basic principle is the same. Only here we can glue our twig from the cup to the plate using hot glue, because the base of the dishes is not smooth. You can buy such a set of dishes at a decor store or make it yourself, although ordinary ceramic utensils are also suitable for a cup of coffee.

I strongly recommend that you do not wash coffee beans before work, as many do, in order to wash away supposed dust. This is neither true nor correct; there is no need to wash coffee. You can choose any variety; the cheaper, the better for your budget.

To save coffee, I advise you to wrap a rod or fork on which your beans will be attached with paper and then with tape, giving it a trapezoid or flared shape. But after that you can get on with your main work.

Take coffee beans and glue them onto the surface with the wide part to the tape, when you have covered the entire surface, then attach the second layer of coffee in a chaotic manner.

As a result, you should end up with a floating cup of coffee like the one in the photo, or something like this.

Floating cup of kanzashi

Kanzashi, this fabulous word carries brightness and festive mood. In fact, this technique came to us from Japan, it was invented by artisans. They turned pieces of silk fabric and ribbon into flowers using tongs and rice glue. Later, we adopted their skills, made changes and began creating jewelry, hairpins and other compositions.

The floating kanzashi cup is no exception, just look at this photo, all the work was done by hand, this is a master class.

The work is done exactly the same as an ordinary floating mug with flowers, which I wrote about at the very beginning, only here the flowers in this case are made by hand.

If you don’t know this technique, I recommend reading the article “ DIY kanzashi flowers».
