The plinth is integral element room decor, performing protective functions. It allows you to avoid damage to walls during furniture installation, prevents heat loss, penetration of dust, condensation and moisture. Thanks to the installation of floor plinths, you can achieve several more important goals:

  • hide gaps between the floor and walls, minor repair defects;
  • highlight design features;
  • fix the floor covering.

Exist different kinds skirting boards are made from natural and synthetic materials, but plastic has gained the most popularity. PVC skirting boards have significant advantages compared to other types of profiles.

Advantages of floor plastic skirting boards

This material is the most inexpensive and at the same time very practical:

  • plastic plinth is resistant to adverse external conditions. It does not lose its properties when exposed to moisture, ultraviolet radiation, temperature fluctuations;
  • plastic skirting boards are safe. This profile does not support combustion processes even in the presence of open fire, and does not emit toxic compounds;
  • The slats are flexible and pliable. Installation plastic skirting boards can be produced with uneven surface walls and floors, achieving the tightest fit of the profile. In this case, a solid floor plastic plinth, which is easily attached to clips, is ideal;
  • the material is easy to care for. To clean the type of skirting board in question, simply treat it with a damp cloth; heavy stains can be removed with a regular soap solution without solvents or abrasives;
  • modern plastic skirting boards are equipped with a special built-in channel for laying wires. This profile consists of a main strip and a core, which closes the cavity with fasteners. A wide PVC plinth with cable duct allows you to hide the wiring and lay communications unnoticed;
  • Plastic skirting boards are available in a variety of colors with a variety of surface patterns. He can imitate natural wood, metal, stone, cork and other textures;
  • PVC skirting boards are easy to choose for any design due to variations in its sizes. There are narrow and floor wide baseboards. The first type of profile emphasizes the elegance, minimalism and sophistication of the decor; it is almost invisible against the general background. Floor wide plastic plinth is suitable for interior decoration large area, lofts. In addition, it allows you to hide even major repair flaws;
  • PVC skirting boards are extremely easy to install. They do not require pre- or post-processing or special construction equipment. Auxiliary parts - plugs, connectors, corners - allow you to carefully install PVC skirting boards;

The final stage of any repair is traditionally considered to be the installation of skirting boards. They can give the room a neat and finished look and hide the edges of wallpaper and flooring. And some types even have a special groove in which you can hide the wires, which is a big advantage in a modern apartment.

Among all the options, a special place is occupied by plastic floor plinth, which allows you to quickly and inexpensively complete the finishing of your home. What advantages does such an element have and how to install plastic skirting boards with your own hands - read on.

Advantages of plastic skirting boards

More recently, wooden planks were used to frame the floor, which were not distinguished by either ease of installation or design refinements. Today, the choice of floor skirting boards is huge and each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Plastic floor plinth is worthy of attention because:

  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), from which plastic skirting boards are made, is one of the most durable materials, the service life significantly exceeds more expensive wood.
  • The material is resistant to temperature changes and high humidity, which makes possible installation plastic skirting boards in any room: from the bathroom to the bedroom.
  • PVC products are fireproof because they do not support combustion.
  • The material is completely safe for humans.
  • Installing a plastic skirting board will not cause any difficulties even for a beginner. Many manufacturers provide their products with soft rubberized edges that adhere well to the walls, hiding unevenness.
  • Plastic profiles are flexible enough to allow finishing of rounded walls.
  • Over time, the product will not lose its original appearance; you just need to wash it using any detergent.
  • A wide range of colors will allow you to easily fit the plastic floor plinth into any interior.

In terms of technical characteristics, PVC skirting boards are in many ways superior to analogues

And, of course, the main advantage of plastic floor plinths is its low cost.

But it's not that simple. Unfortunately, it is precisely the cheapness of plastic that makes it impossible to use it for finishing expensive interiors - such an element will immediately catch the eye. In this case, you should opt for wooden analogues. Although many manufacturers have improved the quality of their products so much that they can not only be installed on parquet floors, but also in appearance they differ little from natural wood.

Installing a plastic baseboard is most appropriate on laminate, linoleum, carpet, and tile floors.

Types of plastic skirting boards

White baseboard under carpet

In order for the repair to be carried out to the highest possible quality, you should choose the right type of plastic skirting board:

  • Universal - the simplest option, which is a solid straight bar.
  • With a cable channel - the design of such products implies the presence of a special groove for laying wires, which, after installation, is covered with a decorative strip. Moreover, access to the wiring is possible at any time without dismantling - you just need to remove the plug and reinstall it.
  • Flexible (radius) - ideal for finishing semicircular walls, columns, bay windows. Supplied in special packaging that must not be disturbed prior to installation. To give such a product the desired bend, it should be heated using hot air or water.
  • Under the carpet - they are an L-shaped strip into which a carpet strip is inserted as in the photo above.
  • High (wide) – ideal for large areas and indispensable for rooms with high ceilings. The width of such a plinth is approximately 70 mm and above. Wide plastic floor skirting boards have a cable channel accommodating a large number of wires with a diameter of up to 10 mm.

Flat plastic plinth with cable channel

Advice: When purchasing plastic skirting boards, make sure that all the strips are from the same batch, otherwise their shades may differ significantly, which will be noticeable after installation.

Standard sizes

Plastic floor plinths can have very different sizes, which allows them to fit organically into the interior. The standard length of a plastic plinth is 2500 mm; less common are samples with a length of 1000 to 2800 mm.

The width of the plank (distance from the wall) can vary from 12 to 26 mm, and the height - from 40 to 85 mm.

DIY installation of plastic skirting boards

As mentioned above, plastic skirting boards are quite easy to install yourself, and this can be done in several ways.

Advice: Before installing a plastic floor plinth, you should calculate required amount material. Using a tape measure, measure the perimeter of the room minus doorways, the resulting number is divided by the length of one bar and rounded up. It’s also worth adding 10% for trimming and don’t forget about plugs and connectors.

Method 1 – Using screws/self-tapping screws

This method is best suited for fastening products with a cable channel, since the caps of the fasteners will be hidden, and the connection itself will be reliable and will not become loose if access to the wires is necessary.

How to nail a plastic baseboard with self-tapping screws - sequence of actions

Advice: It is better to cut the baseboard with a hacksaw using a carpenter's miter box. Before this, the channel cable strip must be removed and cut separately.

Installation should begin from the corner of the longest wall. The plinth with the cable channel plug removed should be placed close to the wall with a distance from the corner equal to the width of the plinth. Then using a hammer drill with a drill the right size Every 30 cm, holes are drilled in the wall through the baseboard.

Advice: To prevent the plastic from cracking, you can first pierce it in in the right places awl

If self-tapping screws are used, dowels are inserted into the holes

Then you should remove the bar, clean the mounted surfaces from dust and drilled holes hammer in the plastic plugs.

Sequence of fastening plastic skirting boards

After that, you need to put the plinth back on the wall, putting a plug-connector on one edge, and fasten it with screws or self-tapping screws. This action repeat similarly for each strip, after which you can put the cable channel cover back.

Necessary indentations when laying

Advice: If the length of the bar less length walls, then when installing the plinth at its junction with the next one, it is necessary to put on a plastic connecting element.

Let's see how to nail plastic skirting boards (video) with your own hands correctly:

Method 2 – On the mounting plate

PVC skirting board with hidden fastening system

Mounting on a mounting strip is suitable for wide products, including those with a hidden cable channel - in this case, the fasteners are not visible from the outside, and to access the wiring it is enough to remove the upper decorative part of the frame.

The plank should be attached to the wall in the place of intended installation and marks with a pencil should be made through the holes in it for installing self-tapping screws.

How to attach a plastic skirting board to a mounting strip

After removing the plank, holes are made in the wall using a hammer drill. Then the plank is put back and dowels are inserted into the holes through it. The element is fixed to the wall with self-tapping screws or dowel nails.

Advice: More simple ways fastenings - double-sided duct tape or liquid nails. In these cases, either tape or glue is applied to the back of the plank, after which the fastener is simply pressed against the wall.

Hidden fastener can be glued

After installing the hidden fastening system, the skirting board is simply placed over it and pressed until it clicks.

Place the wires in the cable channel and snap the outer bar into place.

If fastening clips are used instead of a mounting strip, they should be attached to the wall with self-tapping screws (see above) in increments of 30 cm. If the wall is uneven, the spacing should be reduced.

Clips allow you to both remove the baseboard and install it back

Method 3 – Liquid nails

Installation of plastic skirting boards using liquid nails glue is the simplest and most in a fast way installation since there is no need to drill into the walls. But such fastening has a significant disadvantage - difficult dismantling, during which the planks can be damaged.

Before installing the plinth, the walls should be leveled as much as possible, which will ensure better adhesion. It is also worth attaching all the framing elements to the wall and making sure they fit tightly.

The glue can be applied in two ways:

  • On the wall - drops every 3-5 cm.
  • On the baseboard - in drops or a strip on the side adjacent to the wall.

How to apply glue correctly

Since installation starts from the corner, you need to glue the inner corner cap to one edge of the plinth, and the end cap to the other. This will greatly simplify the work, and the result will be more accurate.

This video will help you secure the corners correctly:

The baseboard should be pressed tightly against the wall and fixed for a minute so that the glue sets. After this, you can begin installing the next plank.

You need to install it carefully so that the glue does not spoil the finish.

The secrets of beauty and style lie in the little things, and this immutable truth applies not only to fashion or a person’s appearance, but also to the interior of his home. It’s not enough just to hang wallpaper, lay flooring and install new ones. plastic windows. You also need to purchase and secure elements such as fillets, door jambs and, of course, floor plinths. With the latter, by the way, not everything is as simple as it seems at first glance. For example, the length of a plastic floor skirting board, as well as its other parameters, can play an important role when choosing a product.

Modern renovation cannot be completed without the use of floor plinths. First of all, this detail, of course, is necessary in order to decoratively hide the joints between the wall and the floor, cracks that may remain after installing the floor covering, deformation gaps, etc. The plinth will also cope well with minor defects, which are often are formed at the junction of the floor and the wall - for example, unevenly pasted wallpaper, unsightly cuts of covering panels and other unpleasant moments. In general, the baseboard can make the appearance of the room neat and tidy.

What do the joints of the floor and walls look like without skirting boards?

Also, the floor plinth will protect the floor covering from debris and dust getting under it. During wet cleaning it will protect the wallpaper from excessive wetness when the floors are washed close to the walls. The plinth can also serve as a kind of channel in which you can hide wires and cables from prying eyes. And if the room is covered with carpet, this small decorative detail will also become a kind of retainer that holds the covering in place.

The history of floor plinths began around the 1st century AD. e., but exact date The appearance of this interior detail is unknown. Previously, skirting boards were made by hand, but at the beginning of the 16th century they appeared special machines, which made it possible to cut out these parts. Then skirting boards appeared, assembled from two types of wood - front side they were made of expensive material, and the back one is made of a cheaper one. At one time, even ceramic parts were produced - expensive and fragile, and therefore used extremely rarely in the decoration of premises. And the palaces of the nobility were decorated with plinths with inlays - these are still preserved in historically significant ancient architectural objects.

On a note! Previously, the plinth in cross section had the shape of a triangle with sides of about 3-4 cm. But now this part can have different geometries.

As science developed, various synthetic materials began to appear and be used in construction. They also began to make skirting boards - in our time, plastic decorative elements have almost completely replaced wooden ones from the market. They are made on the basis of PVC and have a lot of advantages.

Plastic skirting board: what are its advantages and features?

What is so good about plastic floor plinths that most people prefer it? The fact is that it has a lot of advantages:

  • it is universal and will suit almost any type of floor covering;
  • it is an inexpensive material;
  • plastic plinth is wear-resistant and can serve for many years;

  • it is unpretentious in care, easy to clean and wash;
  • before installation, plastic plinth does not require additional preparation, except for trimming if necessary;
  • installation of this part is very simple;
  • Manufacturers offer a large selection of skirting boards different forms, sizes and a variety of colors;

  • the baseboard does not rot, is not afraid of water, and is resistant to various chemicals;
  • Some models of skirting boards may have rubber edging around the edges, which is important for rooms with high humidity– thanks to rubber inserts, condensation will not be able to get under the covering of floors and walls;
  • this item has additional functions– for example, the presence of cable channels for laying wires.

On a note! The color and texture variations of plastic skirting boards are sometimes amazing. Some options are simply impossible to visually distinguish from natural materials- for example, from wood or stone. This allows you to select a plinth and use it to decorate rooms decorated in any style.

But a plastic baseboard is far from perfect option sealing gaps between walls and floors, as it also has its disadvantages:

  • during installation you will have to use various small additional elements– for example, corners;
  • The plastic plinth is quite fragile; under strong mechanical stress it breaks easily. It becomes especially fragile when the room temperature is below 0 degrees.

However, although the choice of skirting board depends on the flooring material, in most cases the consumer prefers the plastic option.

Perhaps the following information will be a revelation for some, but there are several types of plastic skirting boards. It is divided into different types by manufacturing technology, as well as by the presence/absence of a cable channel.

Table. Types of plastic plinth depending on technology and material of manufacture.

Type of plinthCharacteristic

This type of plinth is famous for its elasticity, but, unfortunately, it is quite fragile and breaks easily. Not a hollow option.

Durable but hollow in appearance. The plinth is of low quality, suitable for economical repairs. Typically used for finishing non-residential premises.

The plinth is flexible, which is often used even for bending around simple curved structures during the repair process. High class material with good appearance, rich palette.

Also, plastic skirting boards for floors can be divided into two more types:

  • without cable channel, which is a solid profile without the possibility of laying wires inside it;
  • with cable channel, which has a base and a decorative element that hides cavities with wires and fasteners.

There is also an intermediate version of a plastic plinth, which has a small trench on the reverse side, hidden from view, where cables can be placed if desired. At the same time, you can lay wires for absolutely any purpose behind the baseboard - electrical, from a TV antenna, an Internet cable and others.

Dimensions of floor plastic plinth

Before you go to a hardware store to buy skirting boards, it is important to get acquainted with the dimensional characteristics. This knowledge will be useful for calculating the quantity required material. And if the length of the plinth for these purposes must be known, then you should not miss the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the height and width of the material.

Length of floor skirting boards

The standard length of a plastic skirting board is 2.5 m. Most likely, manufacturers decided to make this figure exactly this way because of ease of installation and transportation. After all, longer planks will be quite difficult to transport.

On a note! Products from the same batch must have the same dimensions to within one millimeter. Lots are different, even from the same manufacturer, they may differ slightly, but (as a rule) slightly.

Some companies offer more long options. Or, if you want to get a plinth longer than usual, you can contact the manufacturer directly and try to negotiate with him on the release of exclusive models. In general, maximum length, which can be found in stores, is 5.05 m. Such skirting boards often break during transportation.

Width and height of skirting boards

But the choice of baseboards in width and height is much more varied than in length. For example, you can choose a product by width in the range from 15 to 22 mm (width is measured along the floor). The height usually varies from 52 to 65 mm, but this figure for a plastic plinth with cable duct can be as high as 150 mm.

On a note! Typical option plastic plinth has the following parameters: 51x21x2500 mm.

How to choose?

In order for the installation to proceed quickly, and for the skirting boards to look harmonious in the interior of the apartment, you need to be able to choose them correctly. Fortunately, there is certain rules selection of sizes and type of material.

How to calculate the amount of plinth

In order not to spend extra money, you should learn to correctly calculate the amount of plinth. This knowledge can be useful when renovating any room. The whole difficulty in carrying out calculations lies in the fact that any room is far from being an ideal rectangle or square in shape. Any room has various niches, columns, bends, etc. inside. That is why it will not work to simply measure the perimeter of the room and divide it by the length of one baseboard strip - you will have to work hard with the calculations.

Important! When calculating the amount of plinth, it is very important to take into account the reserve that will go “to nowhere” when cutting the material. Sometimes quite a lot is spent on profile cutting.

To begin with, an exact plan of the room in which the renovation is being carried out is drawn. In this case, all dimensions are taken into account to the nearest millimeter, as well as niches, doorways, columns and other geometric features.

Then the perimeter of the room is calculated - this is the sum of all lengths except the width of the doorways. The resulting result is divided by the length of one plinth strip. If the number is a fraction, it is rounded up to the nearest whole number. When making calculations, cutting costs and allowances are immediately taken into account - it will be equal to approximately 10% of the total amount.

Advice! To calculate the amount of baseboard for a room or home, you can use online calculators.

Installing plastic skirting boards is not a difficult science. However, there are some nuances here too. In order for the process to proceed correctly, it is necessary to purchase not only the baseboard itself, but also additional accessories– these are external and internal corners, plugs. The number of corners will be equal to the number of corners in the room (calculations should be made separately - external, and separately - internal). The plugs will be installed near the doors - they should be counted by the number of “ends” of the plinth line.

In order to connect two plinth strips together, you will need special connectors.

How to install plastic floor plinth

Before installing the plinth, the floor covering is laid and the walls are finished. Installation of plastic plinth is carried out as follows.

Step 1. Installation of the plinth can begin from any corner of the room. A corner is placed on one of the plinth strips. The plinth is placed close to the wall and corner, at the end of the wall a mark is made with a pencil flush in the place where the excess part of the plank is cut off. The previously put on corner is removed.

The plinth is applied to the installation site

Step 2. To cut the baseboard, use a stationery knife and a hacksaw. If the plinth has an internal and outer edge rubber ones, then first they are cut with a knife - a hacksaw can tear them. Next, along the pencil mark, the plinth is sawed with a hacksaw.

Step 3. After cutting, the inner insert is removed from the baseboard.

Step 4. The corner is again put on the edge of the plinth, the strip is applied to the wall. On the other side of the baseboard, either an outer corner or a plug will be put on.

Step 5. The plinth in the groove is attached to the wall using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws (if the wall is made of plasterboard or wood) or using a hammer drill and dowels (if the wall is made of concrete). Fastening is done every 30-40 cm.

Step 6. On the other side of the plinth, a frame for the outer corner is installed. It is attached through the baseboard on one side only.

Attention! When attaching the plinth to the wall, it must be simultaneously pressed against the floor.

Step 7 After attaching the baseboard, a strip is inserted to cover the screw heads. It is tucked under the corner by 0.5 cm.

Step 8 Marking the plinth can be done not only from the inner corner to the outer, but also in a different way. To do this, place a corner in the inner corner, and make a mark on the wall along its side edge with a pencil. Using a tape measure, measure the distance from the mark to the corner of the wall. 0.5 cm is added to the resulting length. It is this length that a piece of the plinth strip is cut off.

Attention! When calculating the length of the plinth between two internal corners, 1 cm is added to the resulting length.

Step 9 The segment is attached in exactly the same way as in the previous paragraphs. After installing both sections, the outer corner is put on. In this way, the plinth is installed around the perimeter of the room.

Plastic plinth – great way inexpensively and beautifully finish the joints of the wall and floor. The material is unpretentious, easy to install and maintain, and most importantly, it is sold in all construction stores. It is only important not to make mistakes in the calculations before purchasing the material - you should definitely take into account the length of the slats. Otherwise, if you buy additional skirting boards later, you may run into material from a different batch, which will differ in color or some other parameters.

When it's all over Finishing work completed, and all that remains is to put in the finishing touches and “frame the picture” (select and install the baseboard) - you can have a housewarming party!

It’s worth thinking seriously about what it will be like. Of course, an excellent solution would be to choose PVC floor plinths.

Not sure? - Now we’ll prove it!

Application area

Regardless of the type of flooring, it is necessary to highlight its border with the planes of the walls. To solve this problem, a special decorative design– plinth. It was originally intended to hide gaps between the wall and the wooden floor. Subsequently, its functions expanded and now it plays not only an aesthetic role, but also a functional one.

The main applications are as follows:

  • Hiding thermal gaps between floor covering and a wall. This applies to wood and parquet floors.
  • Partial function of fixing boards and parquet.
  • Hidden installation cables for various purposes: telephone, electrical, coaxial.

So large sphere The use of this relatively small floor module requires a special approach to its design. Wooden models are not able to fully cope with the above tasks. Therefore, in many cases it is preferable to install PVC skirting boards. Specifications of this decorative element directly depend on the material of manufacture and type.

Constructions

The material of manufacture directly affects operational parameters decor. There are several ways to produce PVC. Depending on the technological process get the following types plastic skirting boards:

  1. Semi-rigid

During manufacturing, exposure to increased pressure changes the molecular structure of the polymer. At the same time, longitudinal connections are strengthened, which provide the final product with the required flexibility. When installed, skirting boards made from it are able to bend around uneven and curved surfaces without forming cracks.

  1. Hard

The most common type of decor. It is installed on straight sections, and the rotating parts are connected using corner elements.

  1. Foamed

Lightweight structures made of foamed PVC have low thermal conductivity, which makes it possible to use them as additional thermal insulation for the floor. Is it difficult to determine which plastic skirting board is better? Depending on the room parameters, wall geometry and availability additional factors choose best option products.

Typical design plastic decor shown in the figure.

PVC material belongs to the polymer group, which has unique performance properties that are fully reflected in the characteristics.

  • No surface treatment required.
  • The material retains its original color and shape for a long time.
  • Do not change their properties under the influence of temperature, moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Easy to install.
  • Big choice color range. This indicator is important for creating individual design premises. In addition to the standard color palette There are models whose surface completely replicates the texture of wood.

PVC plinth - technical characteristics

  • Plastic version looks exactly like varnished wood.
  • At the same time, it is not afraid of changes in moisture and temperature, nor the effects of aggressive agents, nor insects.
  • Its synthetic components do not contribute to the establishment of fungi and mold and the creation of breeding grounds for insect nests.
  • Plastic material does not deform during operation and does not change its properties over a long period of time, estimated at tens of years.

  • Well made finishing material made of PVC does not fade over time and does not change its original shade.
  • The cable channel allows you to aesthetically hide all the wires in the strip and prevent small rodents from gnawing them, disturbing the picture of the home decoration and getting tangled in the wiring.
  • Fastening is done using dowels and self-tapping screws.
  • Corners and joints are made using special fittings, eliminating the tedious process of cutting and joining corners.
  • It has high hygiene due to dirt-water-repellent properties.
  • Various types allow them to be used in the most different styles interiors and color ranges for every taste.
  • The edges are rubberized for a tight fit to the walls and floor.

On a note

Unfortunately, manufacturers do not provide special holes for cable exit and connection to sockets. This violates the aesthetic qualities of the finished structure.

About quality standards

There are many different brands of skirting board manufacturers. Not every one of them is of sufficient quality. Special GOST standards have been developed, according to which

you can choose a truly good and reliable option.
GOST requirements include:

On a note

The cable channels that are provided in the conductor modifications do not accommodate the entire number of wires that are usually found in the house. There is only enough space for two, maximum three.

Manufacturer brands

  • Perfecta (Poland)
  • Korner – Poli-Eco Tworzywa Sztuczne (Poland)
  • Cezar (Poland)
  • TPLAST (Russia)
  • Tigga (Russia)
  • T-Plast (Russia)
  • Kronplast (Russia)
  • Sadko-RosKor (Russia)

When asked which one, you will be answered by detailed annotations for the product of each brand, try to read carefully specifications and certificates included with the product. Don’t neglect to study the information and don’t be fooled by the low price.

Installation of plastic analogues

For ease of installation, it consists of two elements - a mounting plate and an outer decorative panel. To ensure tight pressure, the edges of the strips have good indicator flexibility. This allows you to partially compensate for unevenness of the wall or floor. If cable wiring is required, it is recommended to choose models with a special channel. It can be divided into several blocks.

Using clips:

If the profile does not have a cable channel, it can be secured with clips. It's a very simple process. Clips are attached to the wall at an equal distance every 50 cm using dowels. The profile itself is attached to the clips themselves. The result is a smooth, homogeneous frame without traces of screw heads and without damage to the finishing coating.

There are several minor disadvantages of this type of fastening, but they should be mentioned. Clips are sold separately and inflate the cost of what appears to be an inexpensive material. In the end, it may turn out that there was no point in saving by not buying a wired one. Plus, any unevenness in the wall will result in a rough gap between the wall and the baseboard. First you need a perfectly putty base. If there are uneven spots on the wall, the profile will fall out of the clip.

Using self-tapping screws

If there is no cable channel, then you can directly screw the profile with self-tapping screws to the wall. First, holes are drilled on the wall and a dowel is driven into it. Then using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws. The holes are masked with plastic caps with cross-shaped legs.

The conductor analogue is easier to mount in terms of preserving the aesthetic appearance. It is attached to the wall simply with dowels and nails in the corresponding groove under the cable channel cover. The presence of this cover greatly simplifies installation. There is no need to worry about the appearance being compromised.

Conductor skirting boards have a rubber edging, which allows for an ideal close fit to the wall and floor, preventing debris, grease, and the breeding of insects and small rodents from sinking and sticking.

On a note

The fact that such a plinth can be fastened with any frequency due to the camouflage of the fasteners, uneven walls will not disturb the installation.

Various modifications allow you to integrate them into a variety of interior styles - high or low, smooth or profiled - a matter of taste and the chosen style.

Fastening sections

Since the walls have different lengths, the baseboards do not always fit into the same length for the required area. Of course, there are times when it is necessary to connect different sections. For this purpose, manufacturers provide docking plates. They are a T-shaped cover that hides the connection gap.

At the corners of rooms, external and internal, corresponding corners are provided. They are placed on the edge of the profiles and folded into a solid, homogeneous structure without cracks or awkwardness.

When the baseboard meets the trim, its cut edge should be sealed and hidden to achieve aesthetic harmony. For this purpose, special smooth plastic plugs are provided. They perfectly complete the picture and allow you to create the most aesthetically pleasing and neat interior.

On a note

When simply placing the fittings on the baseboard, their fastening to each other turns out to be very weak. Small parts knocked down by a careless blow with a mop or vacuum cleaner. Therefore, when connecting them, they must be glued!
