It all started with the fact that I discovered deposits of plastic bottles at the dacha, and for some reason the thought immediately crept into my head about an owl... Maybe it was about an owl also because next door we have an abandoned plot with a house and a garden (over many years of neglect, the garden turned into a forest), magpies used to live there, and this summer, to our surprise, long-eared owls (!) settled there... so the idea of ​​an owl came to mind... I searched the country for Masters of MK making owls made of plastic, but I didn’t find anything “catchy”, mostly I came across just drawings on plastic bottles... and I decided to make my own master class on making an owl. True, it turned out to be very labor-intensive, but the result, I think, was worth it... And, by the way, we can say that this is an ecological owl - after all, plastic does not pollute our lives, but, on the contrary, decorates it...

We will need the simplest and most accessible materials:
- plastic bottles (I took kvass bottles, they seemed the most convenient to me, it took me 5 large bottles for the owl). The color of the plastic does not play a special role, but it is better to take a dark one...
- a transparent plastic bottle (will be needed for making eyes and its size is unimportant)
- tin lids from glass bottles like in my photo
- glue (I used Titan universal glue)
- glue gun (if not, you can do without it)
- acrylic paints (I use Decola)
- wallpaper knife
- awl
- brushes (wide for feathers and thin for eyes)
- thick threads (nylon is better, I only had iris, it can tear)
- scissors (it’s easier to cut out feathers, so take whatever you don’t mind...)
- pliers or something like that
It seems like everything, you can start creating...

We take a plastic bottle and cut it something like this... don’t throw away the bottoms from a couple of bottles, we will need them...

We make the following cuts at each end of the bottle (the number is arbitrary)...

In each resulting “petal” we make a hole using an awl...

we pull a thread through the holes (preferably nylon, I only had iris, it breaks...)

This is how we tighten the part at the cut neck, tie it tightly and cut off the tails of the threads... this will be the head...

From the rest of the plastic we cut out “feathers” of different sizes, you need a lot of feathers, I trimmed them as needed...

We cover the bottom of the owl's body with long feathers in a circle, placing the feathers slightly overlapping. After gluing a row of “feathers”, I tinted them with white paint to create a feather effect...

Next, we mark with paint or a felt-tip pen the border where the leading edge of the bird’s wing will pass (shown by arrows), I did this in order not to glue the “feathers” all the time in a circle, but to seal the area visible parts(although you can glue feathers in a circle, but I was too lazy)... this is the breast of an owl..

Here the breast is completely covered with “feathers”, in the empty places I simply put white “feather” strokes with a wide brush....

On the back of the owl we also mark the boundaries of the rear part of the wing (shown by arrows), also in order to save material and time by gluing the feathers within the boundaries, only slightly going beyond the edges...

This is how we glue the back and don’t forget to tint our “feathers”...

This is where tin lids from glass bottles come in handy. The edges of the lids should be slightly bent outward with pliers. I painted the middle of each lid black. acrylic paint(only one cover is painted in the photo as an example), glue the covers to the plastic circles...

then take a bottle from transparent plastic and cut out two ovals of such a size that they fit in the tin lids slightly obliquely (i.e., one edge is higher and the other is lower). On these ovals we draw a black line with acrylic paint (this is the pupil), then mix yellow paint with a small amount green paint(or we make the eye color as we need), with a thin brush we make “traces” with this color around the pupil, we get the iris, then we let the eye dry and glue it to the tin lid diagonally “paint down”...

Glue the finished eyes to the owl's head. We make owl ears (they are also tassels) like this - we cut out two identical rectangles from plastic, make cuts on them, but not all the way, bend the lower (not cut) edge and glue it to the head... The beak is made from part of the bottom of a bottle...

Remember, we didn’t throw away the cut-off bottoms from the bottles, here they are... now we cut out the legs from them (this is difficult to do, since the plastic in these places is very hard)... by the way, the beak is also made from this part...
