WORLD OF FANTASY AND WISDOM

FROM FOLK WISDOM

PUZZLES

Remember from primary classes, a work of oral folk art called a riddle.

Give two or three examples of riddles. How were they formed?

People began to compose riddles in ancient times. Then these small works were not fun entertainment, but a serious test for young men. With the help of riddles, older and more experienced men tested the guys' minds. It was believed that if a teenager cannot complete a task, then he is not yet ready for adult life. This rite of passage for young men is also reflected in fairy tales, when fairy tale character tested by tasks and riddles. The guy must show ingenuity, resourcefulness, and intelligence.

Later, boys and girls had fun solving riddles. It took a long time before the riddle became children's entertainment. But just like in ancient times, it believes in intelligence, knowledge, and ingenuity.

A riddle is a short poetic, often rhythmic statement that needs to be guessed, in which some object or phenomenon is encrypted in a veiled* form.

The word riddle is derived from the word guess, which in ancient times meant to think, guess, make a guess.

Why is the riddle interesting? First of all, your hidden meaning. The object that is “hidden” in it must be looked for under a hint, a description characteristic features. For example, there is this riddle: There is a snowstorm near the ear, and a fair in the ear. To solve it, you need to at least once put your ear to the beehive and listen to the quiet humming in it. It can resemble the sounds of a blizzard, and the constant movement of bees in a hive can resemble the noise at a fair. So, through the description of the phenomenon, you can guess about the hidden object.

* Veiled - deliberately hidden, unclear, vague.

Often in a riddle, an object is compared to a creature: He waved his hands and bent the tree. (Wind.) In some riddles, a creature, object or phenomenon is indicated through negation or opposition: Without arms, without legs, but rushes across the field. (Wind.) It does not live, but follows a person. (Shadow.) Not an artist, but a painter. (Freezing.)

Riddles come in simple sentences: A bird built a nest underground and laid eggs. (Potatoes.) Seven hundred falcons sleep on one pillow. (Sunflower.) Often the riddle is framed interrogative sentence: What goes on without moving? (Time.) What grows upside down? (Icicle.) There are several groups of riddles: about people and their lives, about nature and its phenomena, about plants, animals, etc.

1 Names, what type each group of riddles belongs to. Guess them.

The black cow defeated everyone. The white ox raised everyone.

It makes noise, buzzes and everything goes on and on.

A thousand sheep, and between them one lamb.

He is small, and his fur coat is made of wood.

Without eyes, without hands, but climbs onto a club.

Small, round, with hooks - you'll cry.

She swam, bathed, but was left dry.

Gray in summer, white in winter.

Born twice, dies once.

In the morning he walks on four, in the afternoon on two, in the evening on three. There are two rows of lambs in the shed, and all are white.

There were two brothers, both Kondrati, who live across the path and don’t see each other.

He doesn’t eat, doesn’t drink, but stands and hits.

There are teeth, but no mouth.

Walks along the wire, dispels the darkness.

2. Explain how the riddle is formed:

Not a tailor, but walking around with needles.

A golden shuttle is sailing across the sea.

A woman came from the mountains and carried a hundred skins.

3. Guess the riddles:

It jumps on the ground and swims in the water.

Who carries his own house?

Four brothers under one roof.

He is silent, but he will teach a hundred fools.

He runs around on the ground and lies down to sleep under a bench.

No arms, no legs, but puts everyone on the bed.

A lady in a golden caftan walks around, and wherever she looks, the grass withers.

One does all the work, the second gives the owner milk, the third guards the house.

In a green shell, but inside - like the sun.

Fold it - wedge, put it apart - mushroom.

And they bake me, and they cook me, and they eat me, and they praise me, because I am kind.

It’s salty, not salt, it runs, not a river, it glitters, not gold, if only you could guess it and know it less.

HOMEWORK

1. What is a riddle? Why did people write riddles?

2. How are riddles formed?

3. Names with which you can compare objects and phenomena such as wind, sun, road, toothbrush, book. Warehouses with them are mysteries.

4. Learn a few riddles by heart and tell them to your friends.

As with the application of other decorative finishing materials on the facade, before installing the “fur coat” the wall must be well plastered. Such a smooth and homogeneous base, made of cement and sand, has excellent adhesion, so the applied solution will firmly adhere to it.

If during measurements of the wall planes it turns out that their difference does not exceed 0.5 millimeters per square meter, beacons may not be exposed when plastering the facade. Even greater deviations on the planes of the walls can be allowed if a “fur coat” is used, the fraction of which is 10 mm or more.

Fragmentary application of a “fur coat”

In the event that it is necessary to apply a “coat” to certain sections of the facade, thus drawing geometric shapes, or to highlight wall protrusions, it is recommended to initially make such elements with a mortar for plastering. As a rule, in such cases the pedestal is not made, but textured plaster applied to designated areas, previously limited by slats.

Considering that the surface of the “fur coat” has a rough texture, rough plaster You don’t have to rub it with a construction float. The only exception is deep corrosion. They should be removed when leveling the walls as a rule.

Broom and stick

The most simple method creating a “fur coat” on the walls of a building is one that is performed using an ordinary broom and stick. A millet broom is taken in one hand, dipped into the solution and beaten against a stick, which is in the other hand. Impacts on the stick are applied with the base of the broom towards the surface to be treated. If you need to get small splashes, use a stiff brush instead of a broom and wooden slats. To do this, just run the strip along the bristles of the brush in the direction opposite to the wall. So, the splashes will fall on the surface being treated.

Applying plaster under the “fur coat” using a broom

Mesh and trowel

The texture of the fur coat applied using mesh will differ from the previous one. For convenience, it is recommended to stretch the mesh screen onto a wooden frame. This structure must be moved along the wall, throwing the solution onto the mesh with a trowel.

Mechanical machine

This method can be considered improved. Such a machine is nothing more than a structure made of a drum made of stainless steel and equipped with blades inside. The mechanism is rotated by a handle located on the side of the drum.

After loading the solution into the drum, you need to point the structure with the outlet hole towards the wall and turn the handle. This unit is easy to use, but requires regular thorough cleaning and washing. Otherwise, the frozen solution will clog the blades and quickly disable the mechanism.

Do-it-yourself device for applying plaster

Compressor

Considering that this creative process It’s worth approaching with a certain amount of imagination, you can try various methods applying facade decorative plaster on the treated surfaces. It remains to master one more mechanism, which is used in this work. Here the solution is pushed onto the wall by applying compressed air. This method is reminiscent of the principle of operation of the blades in a mechanical machine for applying a solution.

Another option decorative finishing building facades is the so-called house under a fur coat. This idea for decorating a residential building and garden buildings was known back in the last century and was actively used in summer cottages In the countryside. The technology for applying plaster under a fur coat is quite simple, fast and cheap, now we will prove it to you.

Plaster coat: essence and advantages

Plaster coat is an application sand-cement mortar sprayed onto the surface of the building. This process even a beginner in the construction business can carry it out, because all you need is a solution, a broom, a stick and a trowel. The process of applying fur coat plaster to a house is not labor-intensive and takes little time, compared to other options for finishing building facades (cladding, etc.). There are practically no material costs, the only costs are the purchase of cement and colored pigment for coloring the solution (optional).

The advantages of fur coat plaster are as follows:

The disadvantage is the fact that the type of fur coat will not suit modern garden styles(for example,), and also that a fur coat is a dust collector due to its textured surface.

How to apply decorative plaster fur coat?

You can apply a fur coat different ways, which are equally simple. It is best to use a special machine for applying plaster.

It is necessary to apply the solution with a machine as follows: hold the bell of the machine at a right angle to the wall, as a result of which the solution is applied in a small layer to the surface under the influence of air from the compressor. Please note that the bell must be kept at a right angle, otherwise the coat of plaster will be distributed unevenly and the decorative appearance will lose its beauty. It is necessary to apply the plaster using a machine in several layers; if you decide to take a break, be sure to cover the edges of the sprayed solution with film to protect the facade from cracking.

In addition to the machine, you can use the “old-fashioned” methods of applying fur coat plaster with your own hands. There are 3 most popular types of spraying: with a broom, a brush and through a mesh, now we will talk about them.

The easiest way to spray the plaster is with a broom. To do this you need to use a solution, a broom and a stick. We hold a stick in one hand and a broom in the other. Soak the broom in the solution and hit it on a stick that we hold against the wall. As a result of this solution, it is distributed over the surface of the house.

Using a brush is also not difficult to apply coat of plaster on the house with your own hands. All you need is to take a brush and a small wooden plank. We dip the brush into a container with a solution for a fur coat, turn the brush over near the wall and run the board along it (towards you). As a result, the solution is sprayed onto the wall and creates the appearance of a decorative fur coat.

Well, the last popular way to apply fur coat plaster with your own hands is to use a metal mesh. In front of the wall on which the fur coat will be applied, a mesh with wooden frame and the solution is poured through it using a trowel. After finishing the work, the mesh is removed.

As you can see, the methods for applying fur coat plaster with your own hands are quite simple and not labor-intensive. Now we will talk about how to properly create a house under a fur coat with your own hands.

Plastering a house under a fur coat with your own hands: sequence of actions

As mentioned earlier, the technology for plastering a house under a fur coat is not complicated and even a beginner can handle it.

First of all, we prepare the wall for plastering. If the wall is smooth, then we specially make notches on it using a chisel and a hammer. We also make small holes, but without damaging the construction material at home (or cinder block). If the wall has uneven surface, there is no need to do any preliminary steps. In addition, it is necessary to get rid of the previous plaster, tiles or other decorative cladding, which was applied earlier. Once the wall is prepared, we move on.

The next stage is priming the walls. For this purpose, ready-made primer liquids are used, sold in hardware stores. Their price is inexpensive, and the quality is good enough to ensure the necessary adhesion of the wall to the mortar. You can apply the primer with a paintbrush; this must be done once, but carefully. If the wall area under the fur coat is large, then in order to save on the amount of primer, it is recommended to use a sprayer; it not only applies the primer thin layer but also sprays it into all the cracks and gaps.

After the wall is primed, wait until it is completely dry, this is mandatory. Next, we begin applying the Shuba plaster to the surface of the house.

At this stage, you should decide on the solution for creating a house under a fur coat. There is an option for applying gypsum mortar, but it is not recommended because... gypsum will not provide sufficient moisture protection to the wall. The only advantage of gypsum is that the solution dries faster.

It is best to use the more popular cement-sand mortar. As for the ratio of sand and cement for mortar, opinions often differ. Some argue that it is best to use a 1:3 ratio (cement: sand), others insist on a 1:2 or even 1:1 ratio. We still recommend choosing the 1:3 option, because... This solution has already been successfully tested. As for the thickness of the solution, the coat of plaster should have the consistency of liquid sour cream, so it is easier to apply and the requirement for the granularity of the solution is satisfied.

The solution must be applied in 3 layers. The first layer is applied with a regular trowel and leveled with it, additionally using a building level. Next, a second layer is applied, a preparatory layer, 1 cm thick. And, in the end, the last layer is sprayed using the tools and methods listed above. Here you should pay attention to the fact that the layer of the last, decorative plaster can be diluted with pieces broken glass different colors and powder color pigments. This design move will make the façade of a house with a fur coat even more interesting and attractive.

If the fur coat plaster is applied with your own hands without using color pigments in the solution, you can paint the facade yourself with a spray gun after the plaster has completely dried.

Among the most popular buildings for applying fur coat plaster with your own hands are the following:

  • House
  • Brick. You will be surprised, but it is also decorated with plaster under a fur coat, rarely, but there are still examples.

In order for fur coat plaster to decorate homes for decades, it must be applied correctly. Experts gave us the following useful tips:

  • Weather conditions for applying coat plaster should be as follows: temperature from 5 to 27 degrees above zero, without direct hits sun rays(better on a cloudy day), but not in rainy weather
  • All 3 layers must be applied in one process, allowing each layer to dry a little
  • It is prohibited to skimp on primer; it must be applied to the wall
  • To color the solution, it is recommended to use the following powders (from minerals): red iron ore, white asbestos, manganese powder, finely ground cobalt glass, crushed white marble, coal powder, etc. They must be added to the solution while mixing cement and sand with water.
  • The solution should be sparse, but at the same time not slide off the wall
  • To create a larger grain fur coat, you must use metal mesh or a stick with a broom. To keep the grain to a minimum, it is recommended to use a brush.

How to sew a fur coat rug with your own hands?

The preparatory work is completed and you can start cutting out the product. The shape of the rug depends entirely on your imagination.

You can stop at strict geometric shapes, abstraction or chaotic arrangement of pieces different sizes.

You need to cut the fur very carefully. Lay it out on flat surface wrong side up. Using a scalpel or furrier's knife, make the necessary cuts under a metal ruler. In this way, worn edges are also removed.

The resulting pieces of fur must be properly sewn together. To work, you need thread No. 10 rubbed with wax, a needle (preferably faceted) and a thimble (for convenience and safety).

Place the flaps on a flat surface with the wrong side up and mark the joints with a chalk at a distance of 5 cm from each other. For convenience, make several stitches along the seam lines.

DIY fur rug - assembly

Sew the parts together using an overcast stitch over the edge. Try to make the seam uniform, every 2-4 mm. After assembling all the parts, tap the seams with a wooden hammer.

You can finally smooth out the seams and make them flat by moistening them with water and drying them straightened out.

The product can be assembled using sewing machine. To do this, fold the flaps inside out and sew with a zigzag seam, laying it as close to the edge as possible.

If the base of the fur is thin and breaks under the needle, use a piece of cotton fabric to strengthen it. The flap is glued elastic glue(for example, rubber).

The surface will be harder if you use Moment or other similar glue. After the glue has dried, the fur is sewn together with a piece of fabric.

Do-it-yourself fur coat rug - preparing the base

The front side of the rug is ready, it’s time to take care of its base. Non-staining and dense fabrics are suitable as lining.

Thin material will quickly wear out and lose its appearance. The color of the base should match the front side.

If you plan to use a rug made from an old fur coat as a bedspread for a bed or sofa, choose soft fabrics, pleasant to the touch. In this case, they will be pleased to find shelter on a cold winter evening.

Rug made from an old fur coat in the interior

A fur coat rug can be made not only for the floor. The interior has a huge number of options where it will look appropriate and original.

Chair covers

Fur rugs on chairs will decorate the dining room and create a cozy atmosphere cold winter and rainy autumn.

And if the capes on the chairs are combined with a carpet on the floor or a blanket on the sofa, then the interior is guaranteed to be impressive.

If your fur coat has animal colors, and you are a fan of exotic interiors, a rug on the wall will be the ideal solution.

The interior in African and other exotic styles will perfectly complement the “skin of a wild animal” on the wall. Prepare the pattern suitable size in the form of a skin and cut the fur along its contour.

Think in advance about how the “skin” will be attached to the wall. Make air loops from lace or braid along one edge of the product.

Caring for a rug made of natural or faux fur

Carpets from natural fur need periodic cleaning to remove dust and dirt. Washing them is strictly prohibited - only dry cleaning or spot removal of stains, otherwise the product will become deformed and lose its appearance.

Liquid spilled on the carpet should be carefully blotted dry with a napkin rather than wiped off.

The harmful effects on a carpet made of natural fur are: direct sunlight, high humidity and heated floors.

WITH faux fur everything is much simpler. It only needs to be vacuumed periodically and can be washed in a washing machine.

At proper care your fur rug will retain its original and attractive appearance for a long time.

Experiment, look for new ones original solutions, and you will not only update the interior, but also get rid of obsolete and unnecessary things. The main thing is imagination and the desire to create comfort in your home!

And the main thing is that these things can find a second life and serve even more. for a long time to our benefit. A fur rugs on the floor will truly be a fairy tale for your tired feet during the day.

So where to start? If the fur is very worn, then it won’t make a big thing, the main thing is that the inside is intact. We rip the fur coat, free it from the lining, and use only the fur. Long, matted fur can be combed with a wide-tooth comb. Fur, if there are grease stains on it, can be cleaned with a brush dipped in gasoline to which the solution has been added washing powder, (1 teaspoon per liter of water). The stain is wiped again with clean gasoline; of course, this treatment is best done in the fresh air, observing fire safety measures.

Very dirty light fur is wiped with a paste made from gasoline and starch or bran. The fur is wiped with this paste, then allowed to dry and shaken. The fur can even be vacuumed. You need to wipe the pile of the skin in one direction: not very greasy places along the pile, very greasy places, for example from the hat, against the pile. Sweat stains are removed with the following mixture: dilute 3 teaspoons of salt in 500 milligrams of water and add 1 teaspoon ammonia. After this, wipe with clean gasoline.

An arctic fox collar or hat can be cleaned without gasoline. Sprinkle the fur with starch, sprinkle with water, let dry and shake well. The fur will be transformed. Dark smooth fur is cleaned with dry hot sand. Try tinting yellowed light astrakhan with bluing or blue fabric paint. Using a swab or cloth, treat the top layer of fur without wetting the inside.

Wet fur is dried away from radiators and sunlight. Our fur coat is dry. We take a furrier's knife or scalpel and carefully, using a metal ruler, cut off all the worn edges from the back side. Cut only the flesh without touching the fur. We have received pieces that now need to be placed correctly against each other and sewn together. For thick fur, a faceted needle is suitable, but you can also use a regular one. You will need matching thread No. 10 and a thimble. For strength, the threads can be rubbed with wax.

Place the prepared parts of the fur coat face down on the table and mark the joint lines every 5 centimeters with chalk. In these places it is better to fasten the parts with several stitches. Now start stitching over the edge, trying to stitch the seam evenly, every 2-4 mm. After sewing the parts, iron the seam with the rings of scissors and tap the seam with a wooden hammer. You can finally straighten the seam by moistening it with water from the inner side and drying it in a straightened state.

You can also try sewing fur with a dense core using a sewing machine. Fold the pieces facing inward, fasten them by hand after 5 centimeters and stitch them with a zigzag so that the top weave of the seam runs next to the edge of the leather.

Fragile skin that tears under the needle when stitching needs to be strengthened. Place a piece of cotton fabric under the weak spot, gluing it with glue that, when dried, will remain elastic, such as rubber. Gluing with “Moment”, “Uni-Kum” or “88 N” adhesives will be more durable. Sew the glued fur together with the fabric.

For the lining, apply a suitable fabric from the inside out and stitch frequently, using the needle to capture the entire thickness of the leather.

Your old fur coat will still serve you!
