General information

RMC 75 - compact instantaneous water heater from famous brand AEG thermotechnics for working with one or several hot water points. The device has two copper heating elements in its arsenal, which ensures the fastest heating with minimal scale formation on the heating elements and the copper flask. The device is classified as pressure, in other words, it is constantly under pressure from the water supply. A special feature of the model is its absolute unpretentiousness to the level of this pressure, even quite low - only from 0.2 atmospheres to a significant 10 bar. The RMC 75 is also gentle on water resources, and to electricity. Its rated power is 7.5 kW, this is a very economical indicator especially for flow-through devices, while the performance is comparable to three-phase analogues - 4 liters per minute. The unit begins to supply this amount of hot water when the flow volume reaches the set value. This fact is recorded by the electronic control system, which also sends a signal to turn the heating elements into operation. And if they heat up too much, they are protected from premature failure by a temperature limiter that disconnects the device from the power supply.

The device can be placed in a variety of ways: thanks to its compact dimensions of 360 * 200 * 106 mm and lower connections for cold and hot water, it can be placed either above the sink or washbasin mixer, or directly above main pipeline. The RMC 75 weighs only 2 kg, so you won’t have any problems calculating the load on the wall. Even if the unit is located near a faucet or shower, jets of water falling on the housing will not cause malfunctions - its moisture resistance index corresponds to IP 25. Another confirmation of reliability and safety is the 3-year warranty from the leading manufacturer - AEG.

Principle of operation

AEG RMC 75 operates on a simple and reliable principle, heating water as it flows through two heating elements. They are enclosed in a copper flask, which takes on the water pressure from the pipeline. From power heating elements depends on how hot the water will be at the outlet of the unit. You can change this power by turning the thermostat knob on the front of the case. The degree of heating also depends on the volume of flowing water - the stronger the flow, the less water manages to warm up. The flow rate is determined by an electronic control system, namely by a sensor that sends a signal to the microprocessor unit to increase or decrease the heating power. This precise adjustment of the required heating level ensures that the RMC 75 is extremely energy efficient, as not a single kilowatt of energy is wasted.

The functions of the electronic control system also include automatic switching on and off of the device upon opening or closing of the water fittings. You don't need to specifically turn on the water heater when you need heated water - just open the tap or turn on the shower! You will be notified that the device has turned on by a light indicator that will be constantly lit during operation. Important feature The microprocessor unit is also cooled by water flow, which ensures long-term and trouble-free operation of the control system.

It is possible to avoid overheating of two heating elements due to a temperature limiter. This is the name of a thermal relay, which, when at least one heating element reaches a critical temperature value, turns off the power to the entire device. Its subsequent launch is only possible manually by a service center specialist.

A special feature of this model is also the ability to work in water supply networks with low pressure or a temporary decrease in pressure level to 0.2 atmospheres. Most water heaters of the same class will stop working at such low pressure, but not the AEG RMC 75!

Design features

Regardless of whether the water heater is instantaneous or storage, the quality of its operation primarily depends on the heating element. The RMC 75 model has two heating elements to ensure the fastest heating of running water. Each of them is made of copper and is a “twisted” copper tube with a heating coil inside. The latter is made of a special metal alloy with high level electrical resistance. When current is passed through the coil, it heats up, the more intensely the higher the current value. Through the dielectric - in this case magnesium oxide - heat is conducted to the walls of the tube, which transfer it directly to the water. The heating elements are enclosed in a copper flask. This material is often used by AEG in many advanced models of water heaters due to its exceptional properties - high thermal conductivity, resistance to wear and scale formation. The flask is also able to withstand a constant significant level of pressure from the water supply network. Its cavity, in contact with water, like the rest of the internal parts of the unit, is equipped with a special coating that prevents the formation of scale. This is especially true if you use your water heater in an area with hard water.

The only element of the RMC 75 design that requires your participation in controlling the operation of the device is the thermostat knob. It is located on front panel and allows you to make the heating stronger or weaker, depending on the volume of your hot water needs. Turning clockwise increases the power of the heating elements, counterclockwise decreases it.

The unit is connected to the cold and hot water pipeline through fittings with external thread G ½‘’, located in the lower part of the housing. Depending on your wishes for arranging the interior of a bathroom or kitchen, you can place the RMC 75 either directly above the faucet or sink, or immediately above the supply pipeline. There is no need to fear for the safety of the unit even if water from the mixer gets on it. Category IP 25, to which the device corresponds, requires external protection of the housing even from directed jets of water, as well as from solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.

Installation and connection

The design and control of the water heater are so simple that after purchasing it, you will probably want to install and start up the RMC 75 yourself. AEG, in all accompanying documents for the device, warns against such an action, requiring only qualified installation and first start-up of the water heater. To maintain the 3-year factory warranty, it is equally important that the specialist uses only original AEG parts and components during these actions.

You should also take into account that electrical connection water heater is carried out only permanently to single-phase network 220V. The connection point between the cable and the device itself must be hidden under a special gland included in the delivery set - this guarantees that the moisture protection category IP 25 will be maintained. Electrical safety will be ensured by connecting the water heater to the network via circuit breaker with an insulating distance between contacts of 3 mm, as well as mandatory grounding. Connecting pipelines does not require any additional parts, including a safety valve. The unit is connected to the water supply through fittings with external thread G ½‘’.

After successful installation and startup, RMC 75 will not require any complex maintenance steps from you. It is quite enough to wipe the body with a damp cloth without chemical abrasives or solvents. If, while using the water heater, you notice the formation of scale on the water supply fittings, this is also a reason to clean it with standard commercially available products.

Thus, by spending a minimum of money on purchasing the RMC 75 and a minimum of kilowatts of energy to heat only the amount of water you need, you get maximum ease of control of the device and the comfort of using hot water at several points in the house or country house.

    Advantages: small, without touch buttons, etc.

    Disadvantages: The water pressure is very low. Although as I understand it is even worse for others. But still better than with a kettle

    Comment: Well, I became the owner of this miracle... I thought everything would be better with it, but in reality everything is not so ice. I installed it quickly, but regulating the water pressure and its temperature is problematic with my faucet. I barely touched it to make it weaker and hotter, bam, the protection turns off (and while you’re washing you have to adjust it for 5 minutes (it turned out horribly. I found a way out, set the tap to maximum, and set the “soul” water to the water heater, once adjusted there and left Now, so as not to suffer from the faucet in the bathroom at max, and the water is flowing required temperature =)

    Advantages: small size, turns on automatically when water passes through it (though if the pressure is low it won’t turn on)

    Disadvantages: price, difficult to choose the optimal pressure so that the water is warm and does not turn off

    Comment: I solved the pressure problem in the same way as in the review dated 10/08/12

    Rating: 5 out of 5

    Advantages: I took the choice of heater seriously. Before it, there was a 5.5 kW heater (from another company) - the low heat and pressure did not suit me. This one practically does not lose pressure - during renovations in the bathroom I measured it with a pressure reducer, the loss is only 15-20%, from 4.5 atm to 3.7. The temperature, if I set it to full pressure, turned out to be 29 degrees - this is a bit cool for a shower, of course. But if you reduce the pressure a little, you will get that same comfortable 35-38 degrees (measured with a baby thermometer). And the maximum turned out to be 55 degrees! The general feeling is that after the previous 5.5 kW heater, this one is simply a Monster! :)) It warms perfectly, finally you can shower comfortably without any problems. At a very low flow, of course, it doesn’t turn on; you need to open the tap at least halfway - this is very important point for me it was when buying: so that it does not overheat, it is safe for children.

    Disadvantages: Only the price (8900 rubles - March 2015, Moscow time), but, alas, everything has become more expensive and this is one of the cheapest models from the brands and with such power

    Comment: If, like me, you have a mixer with a thermostat, then do not forget to switch it to the “Hot Only” mode, otherwise the water heater will turn off 30 seconds after turning it on - this is the algorithm for such mixers. When you turn it on for the first time, do not forget to bleed the air! Otherwise, it may overheat without water and something will burn! I connected it with a cable from the NYM-3*6 panel, and set the machine to 25A. Such a cable bends with great difficulty, but after trying, it was connected safely! Now, when you turn on the light in the apartment, it doesn’t “sag”, as if smooth start:)) Very pleased, excellent device!

    Advantages: The model is excellent, many write that the water coming out is warm or a little cold, don’t believe it, the water is hot and if you apply pressure as big as your finger, boiling water flows, despite the fact that the water coming in is very cold.

    Disadvantages: High price about 10500 and high-quality installation half price

    Comment: If you are planning to buy a water heater, choose this model, you won’t go wrong. Many of my friends installed other models much cheaper, they said that they could not wash, the water was very cold. So my water is hot, it depends on the installation. The first installation was done by an electrician I knew and, as it turned out, he did it wrong (connected through two shower hoses): the water was barely warm, as I saw it, I was upset that I definitely couldn’t wash myself with this one, and the next day it didn’t turn on at all . I called the installers from the store, they did a good job: connecting to the pipes under the meters, with separate taps. The connection is as follows: 1 pipe with cold water- this is the entrance to the water heater, the exit to the pipe with hot water. You turn off the hot water and open the taps from the water heater and you're done. Therefore, do the installation correctly and the water heater will work as stated by the manufacturer. And you need a separate 6 sec cable. and a separate 40A switch. But overall the model is excellent, I have never regretted it.

    Rating: 5 out of 5

    Advantages: Price (9200 rubles) - consistent with the quality, electronic control, compact, easy to use and install!

    Disadvantages: No, if your hands grow from nowhere, then connecting will not be difficult, everything you need is on sale!

    AEG RMC 75 - This flower can already be used in the summer when the hot water is turned off. You will, of course, feel the difference in temperature and quantity of hot water compared to main hot water, but as a backup option for adults it is quite suitable. For bathing children in May-early June, it would be better to take a more powerful water jet. This is due to the low temperature of the incoming cold water.
    Don't be afraid that AEG RMC is made in Thailand. The fact is that this plant is the property of STIEBEL ELTRON, which includes AEG in the water heaters group. And of course, AEG instantaneous water heaters are manufactured under the highest quality control. Copper heating element, electronic control of water heater power. Operating principle of the AEG RMC 75 water heater.

    You may not have thought about it, but most of the technical innovations around us have already fit so harmoniously into our everyday life that we simply don’t notice them. We, without much thought, put the laundry in the washing machine without looking, switch TV channels from the remote control, put breakfast in the microwave with one hand, while watching email With mobile phone. It’s easy for us, we’re comfortable - and that’s main fact, and how to achieve this state - let the manufacturers of numerous modern devices and devices. The same is fully applicable to water heaters, which are increasingly taking up space in our houses, apartments, and dachas. The easier it is with the help of such a device to achieve what would seem to be the simplest component of comfort - the constant availability of hot water in the tap, the sooner we will decide to choose one brand or another. The less we need to think when using a device, the faster it will take its place in our lives.

    This fully applies to the AEG RMC 75 water heater. The ease of adjusting the hot water outlet temperature can only be compared with turning the “hot” tap on a conventional mixer. This was made possible thanks to e-governance regulating the temperature of the heated water.

    RMC 75 is a closed or pressure type instantaneous water heater. This means that it is always under pressure from your home's water supply. This type of device can be used effectively where the water pressure in the network is no more than 10 bar. At the same time, it is easily integrated into the plumbing system, providing hot water to several water points. Water is directly heated as it passes inside the device through a heating element, or heating element.

    The microprocessor unit is responsible for the temperature of the prepared water. It includes an electronic sensor, the main function of which is to change the power supplied to the heating element, depending on the volume of water at the inlet. In other words, the device automatically adjusts its power, and therefore the electricity consumed, to the characteristics of the water pressure in your water supply. As a result, it gives you the opportunity not to think about how noticeably the constant operation of the water heater will affect your electricity bills.

    At the same time, the control unit is designed in such a way that even a very hot case will not cause malfunctions in its operation - the unit is constantly cooled with cold water, maintaining its functionality and not overheating. The same block is responsible for automatically turning the device on and off when, respectively, water is supplied or turned off. This is another reason not to think about when to turn the device on and off - it will do it automatically.

    Design features of the AEG RMC 75 water heater.

    A distinctive feature of the AEG RMC 75 instantaneous water heater is the presence in its design of two heating elements enclosed in sealed copper flasks. As is known, copper has high thermal conductivity, which means that its use in the design of the heating part of the device guarantees high efficiency his works. And placing a special coating on the surface of the flask and heating elements allows you to minimize the formation of scale.

    The device also has a safety thermal limiter. Its task is to control the temperature of the heating elements and turn them off if a predetermined limit is exceeded. In other words, to protect you from scalding when using the device.

    The front panel of the RMC 75 water heater is equipped with a temperature regulator. The simplicity of its use is captivating - you just need to turn it to increase or decrease the degree of water heating. No more difficult than making water “hotter” using a regular mixer.

    Likewise, don’t think too much about whether your water supply pressure is sufficient or insufficient to operate this water heater. It is capable of operating at minimum pressure values, even those that are unacceptable for many other devices of the same class.

    There is one more point that you will not need to worry about when choosing an AEG RMC 75 water heater - this is the safety of its use. It has a protection degree of IP 25. This index means that the device will operate safely when splashed and even jets of water, as well as solid particles with a diameter of less than 12.5 mm, come into contact with it. In other words, it can be located in the shower, next to the sink or washbasin, and even at a height accessible to children - their fingers will not be able to penetrate to dangerous parts of the water heater.

    The pipeline connection at both the inlet and outlet of the water heater is made using a standard G ½ thread.

    Advantages of the instantaneous water heater AEG RMC 75:

    • pressure instantaneous water heater (closed type), which serves to provide heated water to one or more water points;
    • can work with fairly low water pressure;
    • has electronic control;
