Thermex if 50 v water heater does not turn on. Water heater buttons - meanings and solutions to problems encountered with them. Final stage of repair

Thermex household water heater is a reliable device. No worse than Garanterm water heaters, whose motto is to do household appliances, which will last 100 years. IN model range There are both units with a volume of 100 liters for a large family, and 10-15 liter units for the kitchen. Like any household appliance, Thermex has minor breakdowns, which can often be fixed on your own. Help may be required if the water heater has a large volume, since even without water it is very heavy. To properly repair a boiler, you need to know the possible causes of malfunctions.

Thermex water heater does not heat water: reasons

Available on the market big choice electric heaters: Termex, Oasis, Ariston, Elenberg. The water in each of them may stop heating if the heating element malfunctions. As a rule, the heating element in the boiler is vertical, located at the bottom. The heating element of a water heater has direct contact with water and can oxidize or burn. If the plugs on the dashboard are knocked out, this can also serve as an indicator of a malfunction. In addition to cold water and knocking out plugs, problems will be signaled by the activation of a short circuit sensor or an electric shock through the water.

The heating element fails if:

  • The water heater was turned on without water, and the overheating protection system did not work;
  • The heating element is under a thick layer of scale;
  • There was a sharp power surge;
  • The heating element has expired.

If the boiler stops heating water, you need to find out about the performance of the heating element. An ohmmeter is used for this. If in resistance mode the device shows an infinite number, the spiral has burned out. The device shows zero - a short circuit has occurred. In both cases the heater must be replaced. Its dismantling is quite simple.

Thermex does not turn on: reasons

The main reason why the Thermex water heater breaks down may be the device triggering protective shutdown(RCD). The main task of this device is to protect people from electric shock.

Besides short circuit titanium may not turn on for the following reasons:

  1. There is no electricity supply to the boiler. To clarify this reason, you need to check the cable for damage.
  2. The water pressure measuring sensor may have failed. The problem can be solved by replacing the sensor.
  3. Your Thermex water heater may refuse to turn on if you have low water pressure. This problem is solved by installing a pump.
  4. Contacts have been sent. It happens that they oxidize or burn. If this happens, the contacts need to be cleaned or replaced.
  5. Defective temperature sensor. We check it using a tester. If necessary, we change it.

Here are the most common reasons, for which the boiler does not turn on. It is quite possible to eliminate these reasons on your own. Main principle Inspection of the water heater - follow safety precautions.

Thermex water heater errors: errors e1-e3

Sometimes when the boiler is turned on, the indicator shows the letter “E”, which indicates an error. This does not mean that the titanium is broken. Such messages from electric water heaters cannot simply be ignored, as this will lead to malfunction of the water heater.

Here is a list of possible errors:

  1. E1 (Vacuum) – indicates that the boiler has turned on and is not completely filled with water. In this regard, the water heating element may burn out. To correct this deficiency, you need to stop operating the device and wait until it is filled with water.
  2. E2 (Sensor) – a signal indicating a malfunction of the temperature sensor. The boiler can be restarted. Perhaps the problem will be fixed. If not, check the sensor with a tester. Did the sensor fail the test? Let's change it.
  3. E3 (OverHeat) – such a code may appear on the monitor if the water temperature has risen to a maximum of 95°C. If the boiler mentions such an error, you should contact a service center soon. The thermostat needs to be replaced or installed. They come not only at 95°C, but also at 105 and are marked WQS105.

You need to be very careful when errors occur. You cannot simply pass by, since in addition to stopping the operation of the device, ignoring errors can lead to an explosion of the water heater. For example, error e3, indicating heating to maximum, calls us to turn off the device. If this is not done, the boiled water will turn into steam and the boiler will explode from the increased pressure.

Termex boiler leaking: causes and solutions

The boiler, like any household appliance, tends to fail. This, of course, does not make anyone happy, but you can repair it yourself. Everything has its own service life, water heaters are no exception. Reliable electric water heater Thermex RZB sometimes it leaks.

Reasons why the water heater could leak:

  1. The boiler has never undergone maintenance since installation.
  2. The magnesium anode in the heater tank is not installed or is long overdue for replacement. It needs to be changed once a year, as it serves to prevent corrosion.
  3. A manufacturing defect can lead to leakage even at the beginning of the device’s service life.
  4. Very poor composition of the heated water.
  5. Increased pressure in the pipes can lead to deformation of the water heater body. If the pressure exceeds 2 atmospheres, experts recommend installing a reduction gearbox.
  6. Deformation of the housing can occur in the absence of a safety valve that releases the increased pressure.

Leaks may appear in different places. The boiler may leak from above or below. The main action when a leak is detected is to disconnect the water heater from the network. Next, place a container to collect water. Use a flashlight to locate the location of the leak. Typically the safety valve is leaking. In this case, the water must be drained. If the boiler is leaking in places threaded connections pipes in the water heater itself, you should reconnect.
The cause of a leak can also be the gasket between the lid and the boiler. In this case, the problem can be eliminated by tightly tightening the bolts on the cover. If this does not help eliminate the leak, you should replace the gasket after draining the water and disconnecting all the wires. It is advisable to have a wiring diagram on hand. You can take a photo before disconnecting the wires. This will help you install everything in place without error.
If replacing the gasket does not bring results and the leak continues at the junction of the heating element with the body, most likely you will have to change it along with the cover.
Repairing a boiler with your own hands, or even with the help of a specialist, is impossible if the seal of the casing has been damaged. If holes and cracks are found in the housing, it must be replaced entirely.

DIY Termex boiler repair (video)

Termex electric water heaters have long earned the trust of consumers. Unlike other companies, Termex produces only water heaters, which increases the reliability of the products. On average, boilers last 5-8 years, and with regular maintenance they are quite capable of living for 10 years. You can fix minor breakdowns yourself, but major ones often lead to replacing the entire tank. In any case, it is necessary to monitor the operation of the water heater and correct minor problems in a timely manner.

Repairing a water heater with your own hands is not as simple as it initially seems: every manufacturer of heating equipment uses various technologies, and each of them strives to bring something new and unique to their products. As a result of all this, diagnosing faults in a water heater from one manufacturer will differ significantly from diagnosing a device manufactured by another company. Some of the existing breakdowns can be easily fixed on your own; for some, the equipment will have to be taken to a service center.

Main causes of malfunctions

Malfunctions rarely occur on their own, and each of them has its own reason:

  • network voltage instability;
  • absence service and preventive inspections of equipment;
  • incorrect installation of the heater;
  • formation of scale and corrosion on heater elements;
  • presence of manufacturing defects in equipment;
  • lack of timely replacement of damaged parts.

Basic malfunctions of water heaters

Often formed by the presence of corrosion or a hole in the heater tank itself. This tank must be replaced. Unfortunately, many boiler owners fix leaks in their tanks themselves, dooming themselves to the risk of an exploding tank and causing irreparable harm to their health. You cannot brew the tank yourself! Often water begins to drip from plumbing joints, rubber hoses or plastic pipes- It is for this reason that these types of connections are categorically not recommended for installation. If water drips from the safety valve when heating water, this cannot be considered a malfunction: when heated, the liquid expands, creating excessive pressure in the boiler. However, if too much water leaks out (more than one and a half liters per day) or the valve is completely dry, it is broken and must be replaced.

If- the heating element is most likely broken due to excess scale on it or the thermostat has deteriorated due to a critical increase in humidity. The cause of the breakdown may also be hidden in electronic modules, fuses, switches or emergency operation of the cut-off switch. The latter often happens if the boiler is turned on to operate on maximum temperatures. Another breakdown is the long heating of the water, due to which the water flows not hot, but warm. In this case, both the heating element and the thermostat, switch or fuse could fail. In the opposite situation with excessive overheating of water, only the thermostat or electronics can be “to blame”.

If hot water enters the tap with low pressure, you need to evaluate the pressure of cold water entering the tank, as well as the performance of the mixer. If both devices work normally, it may be faulty - clogged with dirt or accumulated salts. In this case, the valve must be cleaned.

If the water heater is gas and parapet, in winter time his chimney may suffer from ice formation- steam, settling on the grate, turns into ice, which blocks all paths for removing smoke. As a result, it will turn on for no more than a few minutes. Removing ice masses will help fix the damage.

may surrounding equipment: its plug, socket, walls and so on. But if heating the walls is not such a fire hazard, then you need to pay attention to the socket and plug. So, the reason for this may be poor contact in the outlet itself or in the outlet, consumption of such an amount of electricity that the outlet is not designed for. Occasionally, this may indicate a breakdown of the heating element.

An equally rare cause of breakdowns is incorrect operation of the RCD.. Heaters of low quality and often made in China use simple and cheap shutdown devices, which break too often. If the device operates too often, completely turning off the boiler, the neutral conductor and the ground conductor may be confused. Often, due to the inability to ground the wires, heater owners prefer to “zero” them, using some kind of quasi-grounding. With this type of “grounding”, the “zero” and grounding conductors are connected, but the RCD does not accept this and turns off the boiler.

If the heater does not heat enough water, the reason can be sought in incorrect installation of the device: the inlet and outlet pipes could be mixed up or connected incorrectly.

Thermex heater malfunctions
It is important to distinguish between Spanish-made water heaters, whose names are written in Latin, and supposedly Russian, but in fact Chinese heating devices Termex. Spanish boilers are also called Fagor. There are four main signs of a malfunction. So, the boiler is broken if:

  • the water takes too long to heat up or does not heat up at all;
  • the heater turns on and off too often;
  • when operating, the device makes unusual sounds;
  • water from the boiler comes out with an unusual odor or color.

Often these signs appear on a Spanish-made heater with worldwide famous name, they talk about a breakdown of the tubular heater or that a fairly large amount of scale has accumulated on the walls of the tank. To restore the heater's ability normal operation, a broken heating element needs to be replaced, and the tank must be cleaned of solid salts on its walls.

Malfunctions
A water heater produced by this company most often suffers from the following malfunctions:

  • the sensor, heating element and switch have failed (both each device separately and all at once) - the reason lies in the failure of the electronics;
  • if - the water heater does not have enough voltage in the network for normal operation, and in order to give it the opportunity to heat the water, all other devices will have to be turned off;
  • If the ignition on the device does not work, the reason may be hidden in the power supply - low-quality extension cords, and so on.

Malfunctions
Water heaters from this company have several weak points: breakdown check valve and the need to replace the magnesium anode. However, it is important to remember that this brand produces both Spanish or Swedish devices and Chinese ones. Obviously the equipment made in China will break down much more often and in the most unexpected places.

However, all these breakdowns are quite simple and can be easily fixed at home. But remember that service centers employ specialists who will complete the task faster and perform it with better quality!

Termex boilers have long proven themselves to be reliable and unpretentious in maintenance. Appliances. But, like any other equipment, they are prone to malfunctions. Some of the breakdowns can be fixed by yourself, but in case of other faults, the repair of the Termex water heater should be carried out by a specialist.

Before disassembling the device, you need to have at least a little idea about its design and operating principle.

What does the boiler consist of?

  • The body material is sheet steel with anti-corrosion coating;
  • alloy steel, durable and corrosion-resistant, is used to make the internal tank;
  • the elements of the device (heating element, magnesium anode and thermostat) are installed on a metal flange;
  • magnesium anode It is a rod coated with a magnesium alloy - this part protects the tank from corrosion;
  • a drain pipe through which hot water is discharged (the intake occurs at the top of the tank, where the water temperature is higher);
  • the space between the outer shell and the tank is filled with polyurethane foam for good thermal insulation- thanks to this, the liquid in the switched off unit maintains its temperature for a long time(like in a thermos);
  • a heating element is used to heat water;
  • when the water heats up to certain temperature, heating turns off thermostat located at the bottom of the device, it also turns on the heating when the liquid cools down;
  • At the bottom of the tank there is a tube through which cold water.

The water heater is working based on the principle of convection:

  • through the supply tube, water enters the storage tank;
  • the thermostat turns on the heating element to heat the liquid to the temperature value set on the thermostat;
  • thanks to physical law convection, warm water begins to rise;
  • in the upper part of the tank there is an entrance to the pipe for collecting heated water, which goes to the consumer;
  • When the hot water is used up and the temperature in the tank drops, the thermostat will turn the heat back on and the process will repeat.

Frequent malfunctions

The design of the water heater is quite simple and there can be several causes of malfunctions. There are breakdowns in which it is possible to repair Termex water heaters yourself:

  • the device does not heat the liquid;
  • the unit heats the water slowly;
  • the boiler often turns off or does not turn on;
  • water leaking from the tank.

The device does not heat the liquid

When the liquid in the apparatus does not heat up, then possible reason The heating element may be faulty. Signs of its failure, in addition to the lack of heating of water, may be the following: knocking out the automation on the panel, constant shutdown of the RCD (residual current device), receiving an electric shock through the water.

The heating element may fail if:

  • the unit was turned on without water and the overheating protection did not work;
  • The heating element was “overgrown” with a thick layer of scale and failed due to overheating;
  • there was a sharp surge in voltage in the network;
  • The heater has expired.

To check the heating element for damage, you need use the tester (special device for measurements). If the device, switched to resistance mode, shows infinity, it means that the heater coil has burned out. If the device displays zero, a short circuit has occurred. In both cases, the heater must be replaced.

Heater replacement procedure in a 50-liter Thermex boiler is not difficult, but it requires patience and attention.

  1. Before draining water from a failed Thermex water heater, the unit should be de-energized. After this, release the water from the device’s container and unscrew all hoses or pipes from the nozzles.
  2. Remove the device from the wall and turn it over.

  3. Carefully, using a screwdriver, pry up the decorative plugs and remove them.

  4. Please note that a screw is hidden under the sticker, which often causes craftsmen to break the cover when trying to disassemble the unit.

  5. In order not to confuse the location of all the wires during assembly later, they must be marked with construction tape (by signing them), or photographed.

  6. Now you will need to unscrew the nuts holding the flange. In this model of the unit there are 4 of them on each heating element.

  7. Remove the pressure washer. If it gets stuck, you can use a screwdriver.

  8. Remove the heating element. It also often sticks to the body and requires light prying with a screwdriver to remove it.

  9. The second flange contains more wires. They all need to be disconnected.

  10. After disconnecting the wires, unscrew all the nuts, remove the washer and remove the heater.

  11. Now you need to completely unscrew the entire electrical part, which is held on by 4 screws.

  12. There is also a screw hidden under the board that needs to be removed.

  13. After that decorative cover comes off easily.

  14. The next step will be tank flushing. It is necessary to fill and drain water until the liquid that comes out is clean. Scale in the container may accumulate in large quantities, sometimes it can reach several kilograms.

  15. After cleaning, we place the heating element back in its place. The bolts are inserted into special grooves and moved until they stop.

  16. Next, you need to put on the pressure washer and tighten the nuts (not forgetting to put in the groovers and washers).

  17. Be sure to screw a magnesium anode to the body of the second heating element (it significantly increases the “life” of the entire unit, protecting it from corrosion).

  18. To insert a second heater, repeat steps 15-16.

  19. Now you should put the decorative panel back on.

  20. We screw on the board with thermal sensors, connect all the wires, using labels or pre-taken photos.

  21. We install the lower roof in place and tighten the countersunk screw.

  22. The assembly ends with the installation of decorative rings. At this stage, the water heater is ready for installation on the wall.

The method of replacing heaters in a Thermex 80 liter boiler is not much different from that described above.

The unit heats the water slowly

This is a fairly common malfunction that appears during prolonged use of the device without preventive cleaning. If you hear noises coming from the tank when the boiler is on, and the water takes a long time to heat up, this means that the heating elements are “overgrown” with scale. Its thick layer prevents the complete transfer of heat from the heater to the surrounding liquid. Because of this, the element may overheat and burn out. With such a problem, it will be easy to make repairs yourself.

How to disassemble a water heater to replace heating elements was discussed above. In a situation where the heating elements are working properly, but there is a large layer of scale on them, then it must be removed from the heaters. Use mechanical cleaning(file, sharp objects and sandpaper) is not recommended due to possible damage housing heating element.

For safe descaling you can use chemicals, specifically designed for this purpose. You can buy them in the store household chemicals or at a service center.

To remove scale, you should prepare a container the depth of which will be slightly larger than the heater itself, for example, a bucket.

  1. It is necessary to dilute the descaling agent (which is an acid) in a bucket, observing the concentration percentage, which is indicated in the instructions. If the concentration is less, the cleansing will be ineffective.
  2. Dip the heating element into the acid solution and note the time. Dissolution may take from a few minutes to 2 or more hours. The cleaning time depends on the thickness of the formed layer and the properties of the solution.

It is important to follow the instructions for the descaling agent and not overexpose the heaters to acid. After cleaning, it is enough to rinse the heating elements with running water.

The boiler often turns off or does not turn on

The reason that the Termex water heater turns off without dialing desired temperature, or does not turn on at all, it may become faulty thermostat. It is checked by a resistance tester. If it is missing, the part should be replaced. To do this, just remove the bottom cover of the device, disconnect the wires and replace the thermostat.

Water leaking from the tank

If a leak is detected from the container, the problem is solved by replacing it. Here you should calculate how much it will cost you to replace or repair the tank, and what the price of a new unit will be. It is recommended not to spend money on repairs, but to purchase a new boiler.

If you decide to repair the Termex boiler tank yourself, you should consider the following difficulties:

  • when dismantling the tank from the outer casing, you will definitely damage the shell;
  • If the device has a plastic tank, then it cannot be restored.
  • if the material of the container is copper or stainless steel, then you can try to solder it, but do it properly without special tool at home it will be problematic.

Some models of water heaters have containers coated with glass enamel. When you try to repair such a tank by soldering, you will inevitably damage this layer, after which it will be impossible to repair it.

In a situation where water is leaking from under the flange, the problem may lie in rubber gasket, which has worn out. To replace it, you need to turn off the power to the unit, drain the water, disassemble the device according to the instructions described above and replace the sealing gasket.

When you need specialist help

Some types of Termex boiler malfunctions can only be repaired by a specialist, and it is highly not recommended to carry out repairs yourself in such cases. Problems that only a specialist can solve:

  • incorrect operation and emergency shutdowns of new equipment that is not out of warranty;
  • settings on the electronic thermostat are reset;
  • The RCD often turns off the unit;
  • tank leaks, although the effectiveness of such repairs is questionable - it will be cheaper to purchase a new device.

But before you call the service, make sure that the line through which cold water is supplied is there is pressure. There are models of units that turn off the boiler if there is no pressure in the supply.

Every summer, utility workers prepare for the next autumn-winter season and temporarily turn off the hot water.

A water heater becomes a real salvation for a city dweller during the period of scheduled work: just turn off the hot water supply valve and turn on the boiler so that hot water will flow from the tap after a couple of hours.

However, any equipment can malfunction, and a water heater is no exception. Often, when trying to start the boiler again, the user encounters an unexpected problem - the electrical appliance does not turn on when the power button(s) are pressed.

There may be several reasons for this problem, and all of them can be eliminated with your own hands without calling a technician.

First, let's clarify what controls can be on the boiler and what functions they perform.

Buttons on the body of the Termex water heater

As a rule, the following buttons and switches are present on the panel of water heaters (Termex, Ariston, Electrolux, etc.) with mechanical control:

  • Mode I - turning on the first heating element;
  • Mode II - turning on the second heating element;
  • Temperature regulator - when you turn the thermostat knob clockwise, the temperature increases to +75 degrees;
  • RCD button (residual current device) - is triggered automatically when a current leak appears on the boiler body.

On the panel modern models Ariston storage heaters can also be found with additional buttons:

  • Eco - when you press it, the system for cleaning/disinfecting stagnant water starts. If you leave the ECO button on the water heater turned on, after a certain time (1-2 weeks) the disinfection system will automatically start once a month for preventive purposes;
  • FAST - button to turn on the fast heating system. By default the boiler operates at the standard power level. Turning on the Fast button on the Ariston water heater starts an additional heating element, which speeds up the water heating process.

Answers to frequently asked questions about Termex water heater buttons

All storage water heaters(boilers) work on the same principle and have a similar design.

This is what the electrical circuit of the most common Termex electric water heater with mechanical control looks like:

As can be seen from the diagram, there is nothing complicated in the design of the device.

  1. The operation of two heating elements is regulated through a simple control panel, which has heating control and monitoring devices.
  2. Thermostats installed inside the flask allow you to smoothly regulate the temperature in the range from +7 to +75 degrees.
  3. When the water cools down in storage tank the heating elements come back into operation.

What to do if the Thermex water heater does not turn on?

First you need to determine the cause of the problem. As practice shows, there may be several of them.

Here are the most common:

  • The socket is faulty, there is no voltage in the 220 V network. To check this, just connect any other working electrical device to the socket;
  • The integrity of the power wires is broken, there is no contact at the terminals of the heating element;
  • The on/off button itself is faulty. In this case, it will help to solve the problem replacing ON/OFF buttons on a water heater;
  • It worked water heater thermal protection button, opening electrical circuit. Thermal protection allows you to prevent overheating of water if for some reason the thermostat does not work. To start the boiler, you need to press the hidden thermal protection button. It is located directly on the thermostat block;
  • The residual current device (RCD) has tripped. If the RCD is triggered once, you can reset the emergency shutdown button of the water heater by pressing the red switch located on the device itself. If a repeated shutdown occurs, this indicates the presence of serious defects and the need to repair the electrical appliance.

In rare cases, the problem may be a malfunction of the RCD itself. However, more often the protection is triggered when the integrity of the heating elements is violated.

You can check the performance of the heating elements using a tester (measuring resistance). A damaged heating element cannot be repaired, but you can always purchase a new heating element and replace it.

How to reset the hidden thermal protection button and clean/replace the heating element?

To do this you need:

  1. Disconnect the electrical appliance from the network;
  2. Shut off the water supply and drain all water from the tank;
  3. Disconnect the water supply hoses (pipes) from the boiler;
  4. Remove the water heater from the wall and install it on flat surface bottom up;
  5. Remove the decorative trims, remove the control panel;
  6. At this stage, you will have access to the thermal protection button, which is located on the thermal relay body. You should pay attention to its position. If the button is released, you must press it until you hear a characteristic sound. If this is not done immediately, then after cleaning or replacing the heating element, the boiler will not start.
  7. Unscrew the nuts of the flange that presses the heating element, disconnect all the terminals, remove the heating element;

The world-famous manufacturer of water heating equipment Termex has launched production in Russia. The devices are simple, and repair of Termex water heaters can be done independently by a person with minimal mechanic skills. This is relevant, since not everywhere in our country you can find service centers. Having carefully studied technical instructions, you can diagnose faults.

Basic information about the boiler design

The oldest concern for the production of water heating equipment for home use has been supplying its products to the country since 1995. It meets all international and Russian standards. The Thermex brand also includes the Champion, Quadro, and Blitz devices. That is, their device is identical to the main brand. Termex water heating equipment uses only electrical elements, wet and closed. The product line includes;

  • storage devices of various capacities;
  • flow devices;
  • combined, flow-storage systems.

Timely cleaning and replacement of the anode will extend the life of the main element.

Regardless of the principle of accumulation and supply of water, the devices have common functional units, which over time become unusable and require repair:

  1. A storage device consisting of a shell, an internal tank and a heat-insulating layer between them. The inner vessel is made of galvanized steel or has an enamel coating. Outer shell made of plastic or metal with powder coating.
  2. A heating complex in the form of one or two open elements and an anode for each of them. The electrodes are mounted with fastening on one platform, which is removed from the outside by unscrewing the fasteners.
  3. Process control equipment - temperature sensor, thermostats, electronic systems control, safety valve.
  4. Mounting gaskets, pipes, taps and valves for connecting the device to the system.
  5. Electrical wiring with fuses, panel, and network equipment, RCD and ground loop.

All internal storage tanks can be either enameled or galvanized. All of them have a magnesium anode paired with a heating element.

Flow-through systems use a dry element in a copper shell; they do not accept scale, but are destroyed if there are aluminum parts in the liner. Water passing through aluminum radiator, carries ions that will destroy the copper body of the heater.

When is a water heater repair required?

The first sign of a malfunction will be the absence or weak heating of water in the storage tank or flow system. Analysis in progress possible malfunctions. Water heater repair is required if:

  • no signal about power supply, no current in the electrical circuit;
  • there is power, the indicator lights up, but the water does not heat up - the heating element has failed;
  • The thermostat failed;
  • leaks or fistulas appeared;
  • the anode needs to be replaced.

For self-repair required minimum set tools and spare parts for the device - a spare heating element assembled with gaskets, a magnesium electrode and seals. You will need keys to unscrew the fasteners, a brush to remove scale, and to examine the internal condition. enamel coating- flashlight. 80 liters or another, they repair it with their own hands in a certain sequence:

Lack of grounding accelerates corrosion of all elements under water. To prevent the tank from rusting and the flanges from wearing out, a grounding circuit is necessary.

It should be noted that a leak in the storage tank cannot be eliminated for many reasons. The inner tank is covered with enamel; welding will destroy it. But another insurmountable difficulty is the three-layer structure, when it is impossible to dismantle the internal tank without damaging the thermal insulation and the upper casing. Therefore, you need to treat the tank with care, knowing that it cannot be repaired.

How to care for your water heater

The quality of main water allows for an increased content of hardness salts. A concentration of magnesium and calcium salts that is harmless to humans precipitates on the surface of the heating element. The same layer of salts on inner surface baka is not scary. It increases protective layer, becomes additional insulation. And the heating element must be cleaned annually, since the sediment does not conduct heat, the element overheats and fails. In an acidic solution of acetic or citric acid, the precipitate is destroyed and the element becomes pure.

As a preventive against scale, you can use preliminary softening of water before supplying it to the water heater. There are special water purification filters for this. Be sure to install a filter on the water supply line to remove suspended substances from the water and direct them into the sump.

When should a professional repair a water heater?

Even a small Thermex 50 liter water heater can be repaired by professionals if:

  • the device is under warranty;
  • emergency shutdown is triggered;
  • The electronic unit has reset the program and can only be restarted by a specialist.

Sometimes the reason lies in a malfunction of the bypass valve. If it is not cleaned regularly, it may become unusable. If the RCD fails, it needs to be replaced. But at the same time, the RCD does not allow the system to start working if a malfunction occurs somewhere in the circuit, the spiral burns out. The RCD is located on the supply cord in front of the plug.

Knowing the structure of the water heater and carrying out timely maintenance of it, you can ensure a long maintenance-free period of operation.
