There are also ready-made building mixtures for the preparation of solutions to which antifreeze additives are added already at the production stage.

There are 2 types of ready-made combined mortar mixtures for use in cold weather:

With masonry, everything is simple - these are nothing more than heavy lime-cement mortars. But finishing ones are already divided into heavy (density of at least 1500 kg per m3) and light (density less than 1500 kg per m3). Ready-made solutions are more convenient to work with, they are faster to prepare at a construction site (especially if you also take into account the refrigeration), there is no need to think about reducing the quality of the solution and proportions (everything has already been measured and added at the factory)

An important advantage of using ready-made, factory-made mortar mixtures in winter construction is that when they are used, for example in masonry, the wall will gain 80 percent of its strength during the winter months, which is quite comparable to summer masonry.

Attention: Solution prepared from mixtures for preparing mortar must be used within an hour, and also ensure that its temperature after mixing and during use does not fall below 0 C. A frozen solution is unsuitable for use, it will not be possible to warm it up without loss of quality - it has been tested for years, no matter what is indicated there on the package.

There is only one drawback to factory-made mortar mixtures - they are much more expensive.

Masonry and masonry work in winter - what you need to know

First, you cannot use materials covered with frost, ice or snow for masonry - this is the mandatory and first rule and condition.

Store all materials - be it a ready-made factory mortar mixture, just cement or a ready-made mortar - in frost-free and insulated containers.
