Thickness of ceramic tiles for walls Kerama Marazzi. Tips for use. Areas of application and installation of ceramic granite. ceramic granite: from facades to terraces

Ceramic floor tiles and porcelain tiles have gauges.

To facilitate the installation process (including different articles), we recommend using products of the same caliber. The caliber is indicated on the packaging.

The actual size of edged ceramic granite differs from the nominal size downwards. The catalog shows the nominal size.

Individual batches of ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware may vary slightly in color. You should pay attention to the tone designation: we recommend purchasing products of the same tone.

The curvature of the front surface (difference from the ideal plane) is an integral property of ceramic tiles. Slight positive (convex) or negative (concave) bends are not defective. Regulatory documents introduce tolerances on the curvature of the front surface, within which the manufacturer sorts products.

Ceramic tiles and ceramic granite are durable finishing materials, but they must be protected from impact loads. Packages with ceramic tiles and porcelain granite are marked “Fragile. Carefully".

Ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles are packaged in corrugated cardboard boxes to ensure proper storage and transportation of the products. If water gets in (for example, precipitation), the strength of the packaging material decreases, which can lead to damage to the integrity of the package and damage to the product. Packages containing ceramic tiles and porcelain granite are marked “Keep away from moisture.”

Caring for ceramic tiles with matte glaze.

For ceramic tiles with a matte glaze, we recommend using grout that is the same color as the tile. When using grout that contrasts in color, you should first test a small area to ensure that the surface is easy to clean. If staining occurs, treat the surface of the tile protective agent(KIILTO COAT (Finland), ATLAS DELFIN (Poland)), which prevents the penetration of coloring pigments into micropores that may be present on the surface of tiles with a matte glaze.

For finishing For tiled surfaces, it is recommended to use ATLAS SZOP (Poland). This composition even removes old dirt and cement deposits.

Before using any chemical products Please read the manufacturer's instructions carefully. It is recommended to test the effect of chemical products on an inconspicuous area of the ceramic coating before use.

Areas of application and installation of ceramic granite. CERAMIC GRANITE: FROM FACADES TO TERRACES

One of the factors that must first be taken into account when laying materials outdoors is the impact environment. Outside, the building is constantly exposed to weather conditions: frost, rain, thaw, heating at high temperatures above zero. Frequent changes in temperature require a material that is frost-resistant, wear-resistant, easy to clean and retains color under the influence of external factors. Therefore, it is completely natural that porcelain stoneware has become one of the most popular materials for cladding facades, balconies and terraces.

Ceramic granite is one of the most durable materials; it has high density and uniformity, making it superior to most types of natural stone.

The homogeneous surface of porcelain stoneware allows it to withstand temperature fluctuations and exposure to water, which is very important for the climatic conditions of Russia.

Porcelain stoneware has the lowest coefficient of water absorption, but it is precisely this property that requires very careful attention to the choice of adhesive compositions on which this magnificent facing material is laid. Due to the almost complete absence of pores, porcelain tiles require adhesives with enhanced adhesion (i.e. adhesive strength adhesive composition with the base must be at least 1.0 MPa). In addition, adhesives must be flexible to withstand temperature changes.

When cladding vertical surfaces, in particular the base of buildings, thixotropic adhesives should be used, that is, adhesives that prevent slipping. Two-component adhesives are highly deformable, that is, they are highly resistant to temperature changes, as well as to high humidity environment, and ensure the durability of the cladding.

If porcelain tiles are laid at temperatures below +15°C, it is recommended to use compounds with rapid strength gain. The joints in such cladding can be filled within 3-6 hours. When laying large-format slabs, with uneven bases or laying porcelain stoneware on the façade and plinth of a building, for void-free installation of 100% filling with glue, you should use the double application method or apply special adhesives for hollow-core installation with a layer thickness of 3-15 mm.

The next stage after laying the slabs is grouting the joints. The grout should also be elastic, intended for external use and suitable for the width of the seam and the color of the cladding.

Features of laying mosaic coverings

Before starting to lay such an expensive high-tech coating such as mosaic, for the right choice glue, it is necessary to take into account the operating conditions and evaluate the type and quality of the base intended for installation. The absorbency of the coating (mosaic) being laid should also be taken into account. Mosaic is considered a non-absorbent material, and for its gluing it is necessary to use highly adhesive adhesives, which will avoid the mosaic from peeling off from the glue.

BASE

Any substrates on which the mosaic will be laid must be strong, level, clean and dry. The ambient temperature should not be lower than +5 0 C and higher than +30 0 C. In case of work at elevated temperatures, it is necessary to wet the surface of the base before applying glue.

Wooden, metal, rubber surfaces are very complex, deformable substrates, and for high-quality styling On such substrates it is recommended to use elastic adhesives.

To cover old ceramic coatings, adhesives with increased adhesion are required. Do not apply the adhesive immediately to an area larger than one square meter(9 mosaic matrices) to prevent the formation of a surface film that prevents good adhesion of the mosaic tiles to the adhesive.

WATERPROOFING

In the case of pool lining, a two-component waterproofing compound is applied to the prepared base for 100% waterproofing (both positive and negative pressure).

Waterproofing is carried out by applying a thin layer of the composition (1 mm) with a stainless steel spatula, into which a reinforcing fiberglass mesh with a cell of 4 x 4.5 mm is embedded. Second layer composition(1 mm) completely cover the mesh. In total, the layer of waterproofing coating is about 2 mm. To the surfacecompositionIt is possible to lay an adhesive mixture for gluing the mosaic.

In the case where the surface of the floor or wall exceeds 60 m2 , it is necessary to provide expansion (temperature) joints for every 20 m 2or for every 5 linear meters of corridors. In this case, the depth of the seam should be equal to the thickness of the mosaic tiles and the adhesive layer. Along the perimeter of all walls and stairs, joints are provided.

Expansion joints in the mosaic are filled with silicone or polyurethane sealant (when filling the joint of the base and cladding at the same time.

Press and align each mosaic matrix using a rubber spatula. They also level out possible unevenness in the thickness of the adhesive layer and level it using a rubber spatula. The distance between the matrices should correspond to the distance between the mosaic tiles.

Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, the average time for adhesives to correct random displacements of tiles is about 40 minutes. The correction time for each specific adhesive can be read on the packaging, but it should be taken into account that at higher temperatures this time decreases and at lower temperatures it increases.

The seams are filled with elastic colored grout mixed with water. Before the grout hardens, mosaic tiles must be cleaned with a damp sponge. Otherwise, cleaning the surface will be difficult. If cement contamination still remains on the surface (in the case of using cement-containing compounds), the mosaic tiles can be cleaned with a rough cloth. It is allowed to use an acid cleaner no earlier than 24 hours after filling the joints with grout (be sure to moisten the joints before applying).

To remove epoxy grout before it has completely cured, use a cleaner supplied by the manufacturer of the compound.

Swimming pools can be put into operation no earlier than 24 days after laying the mosaic.

Caring for ceramic granite has a number of features.

After installation, it is necessary to clean the surface as soon as possible: treat it with a weak acid solution, after wetting the tile joints with water. After 15 minutes, rinse the entire surface clean water. When using cleaning products that contain concentrated acids, avoid getting the cleaning product on the tile joint. Polished ceramic granite requires more careful attention during installation and careful maintenance. During the polishing process, micropores open on the surface. Oils or dyes getting into micropores can lead to the formation of stains that are difficult to remove.

Important:

Do not allow the adhesive composition to come into contact with the front surface; if contact occurs, remove immediately with a clean damp cloth;

– do not use abrasive cleaners to avoid scratches;

– before entering the room, the floor of which is paved with polished ceramic granite, place a mat for cleaning shoes;

– limit the use of polished porcelain stoneware in eating areas and places where it is planned to use dyes, as well as oils and other liquids (due to the increased risk caused by increased slipping of the material);

– after installation, treat the surface with special means to prevent the penetration of oils, fats and dyes into the micropores on the front surface;

– before using any cleaning products and chemical compositions, as well as grout for joints, it is recommended to conduct a preliminary test on an inconspicuous area of ceramic granite in order to avoid obtaining an unexpected result of impact on the tiled surface.

Caring for decorative items and tiles with a metallized surface.

Decorative items tiles made using gold, platinum, metal-based dyes, as well as ceramic and porcelain tiles with a decorative metallized surface require careful care.

To remove dirt, it is recommended to use a mild soap solution, non-abrasive neutral detergents, non-abrasive agents household chemicals for enamel cookware. After treatment, the surface should be washed with clean water. Carry out the processing soft cloth or a soft sponge.

The use of abrasive cleaning agents and abrasive materials is not allowed! Do not use products containing acid! Before using detergents and cleaning agents, it is recommended to first test their effect on an inconspicuous area of the ceramic coating.

Tips for caring for polished and lapped porcelain stoneware

Ceramic granite is a durable material that is quite resistant to any impact. However, like any other coating, it needs care and maintenance. This is especially true for polished and lapped ceramic granite.

Lapped ceramic granite is made using the technology of surface grinding, lappating (Italian lappato - ground, smoothed). Unlike conventional polishing, a smaller layer is removed from the surface of porcelain stoneware. The pattern or ornament does not change depending on the type of lappatting used, which is an additional surface treatment.

There are two types of lappatting:

    Type of lappatation “In cresta” (Italian) - various materials are applied to the surface of the tile to give the surface light structure, then surface polishing of the “tops” occurs. The technology allows you to achieve the effect of a semi-polished surface. After such processing, a unique pattern and a unique combined heterogeneous texture are created: polished areas mixed with a rough surface.

  1. Type of lappatation “Campo pieno” (Italian) – a significant layer is applied to the surface of the tile special material, after which a processing occurs that completely imitates a smooth polished surface without any matte inclusions, etc.

Polished and lapped (2) ceramic granite requires more careful attention when laying, careful care and timely cleaning, so it is important to follow the following rules:

Do not allow the adhesive composition to come into contact with the front surface; if contact occurs, remove immediately with a clean damp cloth;

Do not use abrasive cleaners to avoid scratches;

Before entering a room whose floor is paved with polished or lappated (2) ceramic granite, place a mat for cleaning shoes;

Limit the use of polished and lapped (2) porcelain tiles in eating areas and areas where oils (due to the increased risk of increased slippage of the material) and various dyes are expected to be used.

During the production of polished and lapped ceramic granite, micropores open on its surface, into which dirt can become clogged over time. Spilled tea, coffee or oil, or an accidentally dropped marker sometimes leave stains on the tiles that are difficult, and sometimes simply impossible, to get rid of.

Ordinary household detergents cannot cope with them, hard brushes and strong compounds with abrasive inclusions can damage the surface, and acid-containing solutions can destroy tile joints or change their color.

Modern professional products help solve the problem, which are recommended to treat the surface immediately after installation and during operation.

Products for protecting polished and lapped porcelain granite

To safely and effectively remove existing contaminants, you must determine its nature and select the appropriate cleaning agent.

The ALMIR company conducted tests with various liquids that are often used in everyday life, and recommends products from two manufacturers - BELLINZONI (Italy) and AKEMI (Germany) to protect polished ceramic granite.

Note :

ALMIR company (Russia, Moscow) supplies technological tools, equipment and chemicals for the stone processing and construction industry. It has been operating on the Russian market since 2002.

AKEMI Sein repellent Nano-Effect– ready-to-use impregnation, anti-stain protection with nano-effect based on high-quality organic active substances. The product provides the polished surface with oil-grease-repellent properties and an anti-graffiti effect, reduces the absorption of moisture and dirt in wet weather, and protects the surface from various contaminants for a long time. After complete hardening, the preparation is harmless in contact with food. It is used to protect kitchen workplaces, window sills, countertops, bathrooms, showers, and building facades.

BELLINZONI Idea HP and BELLINZONIIdeaGOLD– colorless impregnation that penetrates deeply into the structure of the tile and does not change its color. Protects the surface from absorption of water, oils and various contaminants. Does not create a surface film and prevents the appearance of mold. Can be used for external and internal work.

You can also use household cleaners to remove dirt. For example, acid-containing cleaners with surfactants: Cometgel or Sanforactive.

However, some stains may leave traces that cannot be removed by regular cleaning methods. household products, so you can use professional detergents to solve the problem. In addition to those already mentioned above BELLINZONI Idea HP andIdeaGOLDand AKEMI Sein repellent Nano-Effect we also recommend:

BellinzoniMangiaMacchia– removes most types of stains (dirt, oil, coffee, etc.), does not damage the shine, and allows you to remove deeply penetrated dirt.

LitokolCOLOREDSTAINREMOVER– a product for removing organic and biological contaminants, allows you to remove stains without damaging the surface or leaving streaks.

Pro-Brite compound Alfa-19 – removes traces of colored grout.

BERT-27 – acid cleaner, designed to clean heavy soiling and remove residues mortar; ULTRA STRIPPER– concentrated detergent alkaline based, designed to remove various types of strong contaminants: grease, soot, wax, oil stains, traces of adhesive tape.

Please read the manufacturer's instructions carefully before using any cleaning products or chemicals. It is recommended to test the effect of any cleaning agents and chemical compounds on an inconspicuous area of the ceramic coating before use.

For polished and lapped ceramic granite, we recommend using grout that is the same color as the tile. When using grout that contrasts in color, you should first test a small area to ensure that the surface is easy to clean. If staining occurs, before grouting the tile joints, it is necessary to treat the surface of the tile with a protective agent KIILTO COAT (Finland) or ATLAS DELFIN (Poland), which prevents the penetration of coloring pigments into micropores that may be present on the surface of the tile.

Important:

After laying, treat the surface with special means to prevent the penetration of oils, fats and dyes into the micropores on the front surface.
Before using any chemical compounds and cleaning agents, as well as grout for tile joints, you must carefully read the instructions.

Performance characteristics and product range

The company's production lines annually produce 14.5 million square meters. m of tiles, over 4 million sq. m of artificial finishing granite and approximately 17 million units of a wide range of decor. Continuing the traditions of the famous world brand, the Russian company is recognized as a trendsetter in the industry, and Kerama Marazzi ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles are the standard of compliance with strict international standards for performance and aesthetic qualities. All products leaving the concern's conveyors are of the highest quality:

  • wear-resistant and abrasion-resistant;
  • frost-resistant and does not respond to extreme high temperatures;
  • not radioactive;
  • practically does not react to the action of aggressive chemicals.
  • The dense, homogeneous, practically non-porous structure of Kerama Marazzi porcelain stoneware ensures a low water absorption rate of less than 0.5%, which makes it possible to use the material not only in the interior, but also for exterior finishing buildings.

Our own production base, highly qualified personnel, Italian equipment of the latest generation and innovative technologies allow the company to produce building ceramics in a full range of formats from 100x100 mm tiles to 600x600 mm artificial granite blocks.

Collections of porcelain tiles from the Kerama Marazzi brand are distinguished by a variety of designs, a wide selection of textures, textures and surface finishing options for products:

  • matte;
  • polished;
  • glazed;
  • satin;
  • rectified.

How to navigate the brand's product collections

Since its founding, the concern's Russian factories have produced ceramic tiles, and porcelain tiles under the Kerama Marazzi brand appeared in 2007. Each collection of the company’s products has its own “geographical” name, which allows the buyer not only to quickly select the style he needs, but also, within the same collection, to select tiles and artificial granite in the same style.

Italian collection

It was released in 2007, marked the launch of a new building ceramics factory near Moscow and became a kind of calling card of the Kerama Marazzi company on the Russian market. Its arsenal includes several series of technical and decorative granite ceramics in formats 300x300 mm, 300x600 mm and 420x420 mm. The designers gave a number of series in the collection the names of the Italian rivers Tiber, Rubicon, Arno, and their surface imitates the texture of natural stone, rock crystal, water, repeating the natural veins of material touched by time.

In finishing the surface of granite tiles of the Rubicon series, fiammatura glaze is used, the thinnest layer of which fills the pores and cavities of the material, enhancing the effect of “reading” the centuries-old history of the noble stone. Another representative of the collection is the Forum tile series, format 420x420 mm, smooth surface which appears textured thanks to the use of innovative technology for printing the design first with white pigment and then with color. The Forum series is complemented by mosaic decor. The Colosseum product series presented in pastel colors beige, gray-blue and soft pink colors reproduce the texture of marble, granite and other types of stone, and artificial granite of the Openwork line imitates the beauty of antique handmade textiles. Available in matte and glossy versions. Fantasies on the theme of modern Italy are embodied in the lines of Comfort tiles in the 300x600 mm format, imitating the texture of wood, in polished products with mother-of-pearl floral print of the Serenade and Adagio lines, as well as in the unpolished monocolor of the Arena series.

Alpine collection

Published in 2008. It is not numerous, but the products included in it have supplemented the company’s product palette with new textures natural materials central Europe, reproducing the pristine beauty of the mountain slopes and vegetation of the foothills of the Alps.

Nevertheless, a lot of styles and interiors can be created from Alpine collection ceramic granite. This is a reproduction of the interior of an old Swiss knight's castle, and a cafe in a modern style, which is so often found in numerous ski resorts in Switzerland and Austria, and the cozy hut of an Alpine cheese maker, and the solemn cry of the famous Swiss banks. In short, there is room for design imagination.

British collection

In the next “geographical” collection of 2009, the company’s designers reflected the original culture and subtle national flavor of England, naming the series after the cities of Edinburgh and Dublin. The Edinburgh series 600x600 mm format tiles are designed in a calm gray-beige color scheme, and its glazed texture imitates the soft shimmering shine of natural travertine. The Dublin series of materials is available in beige-mahogany and metallic palettes, imitating the surfaces of slightly shiny boards and metal.

The next two lines of granite ceramics from the British collection, Cambridge and Oxford, are produced in the 420x420 mm format and reproduce the texture of natural stone. To decorate the products of these series, the Drypress deep patterning method or dry pressing is used. A special glaze is applied in a thick layer to the material before pressing and firing, which provides it with additional strength and high color fastness.

Japanese collection

Released in 2010, the collection is addressed to admirers of the ancient and mysterious culture of the land of the rising sun. The products included in it are presented in popular dimensional formats and imitate the restrained and laconic beauty of stone, wood, and vegetation of this country. The texture of most “Japanese” series is made using the random technique. Various dimensions of the slabs allow you to create spectacular compositions both in small home interiors and in grandiose architectural structures.

The lines of the Japanese collection have significantly expanded the range of textures of Kerama Marazzi products. The surface of the Okinawa line tiles, for example, imitates a tortoise shell, and the chandelier coating enhances the effect. A high degree of imitation of relief surfaces and vegetation of the underwater world, wood, and natural untreated stone is achieved through the use of lappatting techniques, silk-screen printing, waterjet cutting and processing of the material with soluble mineral salts. All series of artificial granite from the Japanese collection are complemented by a wide selection of decorative products and mosaics.

French style, Scandinavian and Roman collections

A series of Kerama Marazzi product collections released in 2011, 2012, 2013, respectively, expand the capabilities of designers in creating interiors of the most different styles from the exquisite brevity of harsh Scandinavia to the luxury of patrician life Ancient Rome and French monarchs of the 18th century.

Thanks to a full production cycle and a developed own distribution network, the Russian concern KERAMA MARAZZI preserves for domestic consumers of all categories affordable prices for high quality products European quality, which can be purchased retail and wholesale in any required quantity.

Ceramic tiles are very durable material. If laid correctly, the tensile strength of the surface is 10-20 times higher than reinforced concrete or cement. High rigidity parameters help tile materials not to deform or bend even against the background of high tensile loads.

The following materials are used as the main raw materials for the production of ceramic tiles:

  • clayey – help to achieve high plasticity of the wet mass, which facilitates the molding of workpieces;
  • quartz raw material - sand forms the “skeleton” of the tile, that is, it has a structural function. In production, it is possible to control and limit changes in the dimensions of the product, which are inevitable during the drying and firing process;
  • materials containing feldspar, carbonates - they provide the required density and structure of the product.

When purchasing tiles, it is useful to ask the seller for a computer layout. This will allow you to develop the most successful option and save on pruning.

The technical characteristics declared by the manufacturers are discussed in the tabular data:
