Flower waterfall from a cup is very original and beautiful craft, it is mainly given to girls for the holidays. We did something like this in similar style. Today we will use artificial flowers and an almost similar method of creating a waterfall; we will not have water while walking. The most important thing for homemade products is to find high-quality glue that will glue the iron rod to the ceramics.

This creation can easily be created by guys who want to surprise their girlfriend. I will demonstrate the creation method step by step, but for example, I would have chosen much more beautiful details. Or you can decorate it, as well as the saucer. If you just want to decorate your home with this creation, then it will look best in the kitchen. And some even make a collection of similar waterfalls, and we already have two, from coffee and from flowers.

How to make a flower waterfall from a mug with your own hands.

It is very important to bend the twig correctly so that the cup's emphasis on it is minimal for possible breakage. On the saucer we make two kinks of the rod and one on the cup, as well as place the long part under correct tilt. First, glue the rod to the saucer and wait until it dries.

Then we glue the cup, also pour more glue and insert the rod deeper, until it stops.

Now we wrap a simple cardboard or paper. First we bend it and then secure it with threads. This is necessary so that there is a larger area for gluing flowers.

Buy more expensive decorative ones, they are like real ones and look great. Also take them in one color to comply special style. We glue the flowers on the saucer so that it is almost invisible.

Then we glue it on the leg and inside the cup, as well as next to the handle. You need to make sure that the leg is not visible.

Place the most beautiful one on a cup. Then you can decorate it with acrylic paints.

We created this waterfall from a cup with our own hands. Not difficult and very beautiful, the master class turned out great.

Topiary is a decorative figurine symbolizing wealth and abundance. Typically, topiary consists of coffee beans, shells, and, in general, various little things. The variety of elements that can be used to create a souvenir provides room for imagination. Using the same scheme, but using different materials, you can make completely different topiaries.

Previously, topiary was called a special tree trimming, which later grew into the creation ornamental plants, where the crown was depicted in the form of various gizmos. At the same time, you can make such a small and beautiful tree from any materials; the simple scheme of work allows you to make something like this even for children.

Currently, in addition to trees, they create various compositions, where the tree is not present at all. It's all about technique - gluing the elements onto the base tightly to each other. You can decorate the craft various parts, paint them, tie ribbons to create a unique gift and attract wealth to your home.

What can topiary be made from?

In addition to the tree, topiary in the form of a cup from which something pours onto a saucer is very popular. This “something” could be coins, coffee beans, even pasta. This figure symbolizes abundance. It is best to choose a cup and saucer of the same color, that is, a coffee pair.

Saucers can have patterns, but it’s ideal if the set is plain white.

It’s not difficult to make a topiary from a cup, the main thing is to choose what will flow from the mug, and also have patience to create a neat craft.

The “flying mug” will fit into the interior of a modern living room, bedroom, and kitchen. This feng shui element will bring joy and wealth to your home, and it is easy to do using the tutorial below.

Coffee mug (video)

How to make topiary from a mug

You can make a craft from a mug as follows. Step-by-step instructions (master class) will help you create a beautiful and unusual craft.

You will need:

  • Coffee cup and saucer;
  • Super glue;
  • coffee beans;
  • fork or thick wire;
  • pliers;
  • thin strip of foam rubber about 10 cm;
  • different decorative elements.

Step-by-step execution:

  1. First of all, you need to prepare the base for the cup. To do this, a fork or thick strong wire needs to be bent in several places to form an arc. There is no need to overdo it: you should get something like a semicircle.
  2. The next step is to secure this element. If using a fork, attach the serrated side to the side of the mug using superglue. The other end of the fork needs to be glued to the saucer. The result should be a mug flying over the saucer. It's okay if the cup outweighs the structure, this will be corrected later.
  3. To disguise a fork or wire, you need to carefully apply foam tape on all sides using glue.
  4. Now you need to glue the coffee beans. First, they are placed inside the mug one at a time (each needs to be carefully lubricated with glue). The type of coffee in this case does not matter, the main thing is that the beans are intact.
  5. Then you need to do the same along the entire length of the foam strip. All actions are performed slowly, carefully; one grain at a time should be glued, pressing them tightly against each other.
  6. As a result, there should be no voids with foam rubber. If there are any, you need to stick smaller grains there, this will also give the craft volume.
  7. The coffee beans should also be attached to the back of the foam fork. If there are bald spots left, they need to be covered with a few more grains. You should pay attention to the sides of the fork so that there are no empty spaces anywhere.
  8. A few coffee beans can be added to the saucer itself to create the feeling that the coffee is actually pouring out of the cup.
  9. Now you need to leave the craft to dry. It may happen that the cup still outweighs the saucer. In this case, adding various decorative elements can correct the situation. You can glue more coffee beans onto the saucer, but it’s better to stick them one at a time: it will be neater, although it will take longer.
  10. In addition to coffee, the craft can be decorated with beads and hearts. You need to remove all the threads that superglue leaves behind.

The craft is ready.

Thus, you can make a topiary, the basis for which will be a cup of coffee. Instead of grains, you can use flowers, shells, beads, in general, whatever your heart desires. Topiary can be created for some holiday, depending on this it can be used various decor.

In conclusion, you should pay attention to the fact that the “coffee cup” topiary is a simple and at the same time creative gift for family and friends. Using the master class, you can create several very different and very beautiful topiary, depending on the time of year or upcoming holidays.

  2. Determine where the wire is attached to the cup and saucer. These parts must be sanded with sandpaper. The rough part has best properties grip than glossy varnish. The surface will also need to be degreased. Acetone can be used.
  3. First attach the wire to inner surface cups, then bend it 180 degrees. The cup will appear to be in a clamp. Direct the workpiece at the desired angle to the saucer. There, make an element of fastening to the plane.
  4. Bend the second wire in the same way.
  5. Attach the blanks to the parts and coat them thickly with glue or treat them with a heat gun.
  6. The main technological stage has been completed. It’s a good idea to wrap the frame with threads or twine, forming a surface for arranging flowers and decor. Each turn should also be well treated with adhesive.
  7. Then you can proceed to the most interesting and creative process- decorating a tea pair.

Manufacturing begins with working with wire. The structure may not be stable enough if the length is too long. The wire needs to be bent until it looks like the letter S. Using a hot gun, glue one end to the saucer and the other to the bottom of the cup, tilting it slightly forward.

Next in line are artificial flowers or any other materials. It is necessary to paste over the decoration starting from the cup, and then gradually over the entire surface of the wire. The flowers from the cup will seem like a falling fountain.

After finishing work with the cup, you will need to lay out and glue the flowers on the saucer as well. Add something else interesting to the resulting composition, for example, artificial butterflies or hearts.

Use pliers to bend the fork (spoon). The ends should be bent in directions opposite to each other. This will be the frame of the decoration. Next, you need to wrap the bent fork (spoon) with tape (electrical tape). Also, electrical tape (adhesive tape) will attach the upper part of the frame to the bottom of the cup, and the lower part to the saucer. Should be paid Special attention that the frame must be stable.

Pour a pile of coins onto a saucer greased with glue, and do the same with the mug. The frame also needs to be covered with coins. Thus, you will get a wonderful composition - a floating cup-waterfall, made by yourself.

Floating cup photo

Photos in any work are an integral part of the description, here too it’s impossible without it. After all, to repeat the work, descriptions are not always enough, and then step-by-step photographs or videos should come to the rescue.

I’ll show you the video below, but for now I suggest you admire the photos of the floating cups.

These are just a few options, there are many more, and I will introduce you to some of them today. I’ll tell you a few master classes, and also reveal secrets that you won’t find anywhere.

How to make a floating cup

For this master class, as for many others, first of all you will need a cup or mug with a plate. I don’t recommend taking a large plate; a regular saucer will do just fine. Although if you are making a composition with a waterfall, then you will need a slightly larger plate for a beautiful design.

This work cannot be done without glue, scissors, wire and a base component. I don’t call the cup the basis, but what you use to make it with, flowers or coffee, for example.

The principle of a master class is the same everywhere, they differ only in some subtleties and sizes. You can see all this in the photo under each detailed description.

DIY floating cup master class

Let's start, friends, and get to work. Now I will describe in detail how to make a floating cup with your own hands with flowers, coffee, coins, kanzashi and even a waterfall.

Floating cup with flowers

It seems that just recently I was showing off my floating mug on my website, talking about how to make it beautifully with my own hands, describing each step step by step and showing photos.

Today I will again touch on this topic and the cup with flowers, and if you want to read the master class in more detail, I recommend clicking.

To create a cup with flowers you will need

  • Saucer
  • Mug
  • Gypsum
  • A piece of cable
  • Artificial flowers
  • Glue
  • Scissors

In fact, plaster can be replaced with hot glue, but it does not hold very tightly and you need a lot of it. This is up to your discretion, I’ll just share the photo and you can clearly see how the mug and saucer are held together.

So far there are no flowers, no kanzashi, no coffee with coins, just a skeleton. Please note that I connected two objects together with an electrical cable; many people use a regular kitchen fork, but I didn’t have an extra fork at home for creativity.

The next thing you need to do is divide the artificial flowers into separate buds or inflorescences and glue them one by one onto the cable. Here I recommend using a glue gun.

The order of gluing the flowers should be from top to bottom, this will make it easier for you to shape the cup with flowers. I added a few lemons to the flowers, and in the end I got this floating cup with flowers and two fruits.

The photo shows that the cup is very high, but they can be made much lower. For example, a cup of coffee is almost half the height.

Floating cup of coffee

A floating coffee mug also consists of a cup, saucer, glue, and naturally aromatic coffee beans.

The basic principle is the same. Only here we can glue our twig from the cup to the plate using hot glue, because the base of the dishes is not smooth. You can buy such a set of dishes at a decor store or make it yourself, although ordinary ceramic utensils are also suitable for a cup of coffee.

I strongly recommend that you do not wash coffee beans before work, as many do, in order to wash away supposed dust. This is neither true nor correct; there is no need to wash coffee. You can choose any variety; the cheaper, the better for your budget.

To save coffee, I advise you to wrap a rod or fork on which your beans will be attached with paper and then with tape, giving it a trapezoid or flared shape. But after that you can get on with your main work.

Take coffee beans and glue them onto the surface with the wide part to the tape, when you have covered the entire surface, then attach the second layer of coffee in a chaotic manner.

As a result, you should end up with a floating cup of coffee like the one in the photo, or something like this.

Floating cup of kanzashi

Kanzashi, this fabulous word carries brightness and festive mood. In fact, this technique came to us from Japan, it was invented by artisans. They turned pieces of silk fabric and ribbon into flowers using tongs and rice glue. Later, we adopted their skills, made changes and began creating jewelry, hairpins and other compositions.

The floating kanzashi cup is no exception, just look at this photo, all the work was done by hand, this is a master class.

The work is done exactly the same as an ordinary floating mug with flowers, which I wrote about at the very beginning, only here the flowers in this case are made by hand.

Floating cup video

And here is the long-awaited master class on creating a floating cup. In this video you can learn the technique and rules and discover something new for yourself.

If you have any questions after watching this video, you can ask them in the comments.

Floating fruit cup

And I made this cup of fruit, which you will now see in the photo, on the first day of spring. After an evening walk, inspiration suddenly struck me, and I decided to create such beauty.

For this master class I needed flowers and fruits, coffee and coins, I did not sculpt here. And instead of paper and tape, I used a clean sock. I wrapped it around the power electrical cable, and secured the edges with hot glue. Here's a photo for you.

The next thing I did was glue some white flowers in places, I had them left over from the previous cup.

This is the spring floating cup with flowers and fruits I got.

How do you like it, my friends?

Floating cup with coins

And this master class is suitable for people who believe in Feng Shui and other otherworldly forces. Usually such a cup with coins is given to attract money and finance.

You can use any coins for such a gift, as long as they are clean. Remember, I advised you not to wash the coffee beans, but here everything is just the opposite. Take warm water and dilute it in it detergent and rinse your coins there for the floating mug.

Then wait for them to dry and you can get down to business.

I recommend reducing the height of this composition a little and making it small, so that the distance from the cup to the plate is about 15 centimeters. This way, fewer coins will be spent, and the cup will look more luxurious.

The operating principle is the same as in previous flying mugs.

Floating cup waterfall

And this handmade waterfall cup should surprise many. Here we do not use a cable and a kitchen fork to connect a cup and a plate, but an ordinary plastic bottle.

We cut off the neck and bottom of the bottle, then divide the cylinder into 4 parts. Now we bring one of the parts to an open fire, let it be a gas stove. And hold it at a distance of 30cm above the fire and adjust the ends of the plastic. Part of the bottle should warp and the ends should bend in opposite directions, like english letter"Z". Like in this photo.

Further work is the same as in all previous master classes. We attach our plastic to the cutlery not with plaster, but with hot glue, wait until everything is fixed, and then we take another glue, for example “dragon” or “pristige”.

For a waterfall you need transparent glue. We begin to slowly pour this glue over our piece of plastic from top to bottom. This process should take place in several stages at intervals of time. To apply each subsequent layer, the previous one must be dry.

As soon as you succeed suitable shape, then we take hot glue in our hands and glue various shells, pebbles, decorative greenery and sea creatures to the waterfall.

This floating waterfall mug is perfect for a gift.

Friends, as you can see, there is nothing complicated. Today I told you and showed you a photo of how to make floating cups with your own hands with kanzashi flowers, coins, fruits, ordinary flowers, and even a master class of waterfall cups.

Share this beauty with your friends. Have a good mood.

With love, Nina Kuzmenko.

Materials

1) tea or coffee pair (cup and saucer)

2) glue to connect the “spouting” structure with a bowl and saucer. It is better to use the universal Moment gel adhesive for ceramics, plastic or glass. An alternative can be any other adhesive designed to work with smooth surfaces. A glue gun is also used, but it is intended mainly for working with rough surfaces. There is a possibility that the cup will come off in the near future after gluing.

3) thick wire, or triple wires. You can use other flexible items, such as old aluminum forks or spoons, or a metal hanger.

superplastic) is a self-hardening thermoplastic. When heated, it becomes plastic and convenient for giving it the desired shape. When cooled, it becomes hard, elastic and durable.

5) painting scotch– they can replace superplastic

6), can also replace polymorphus. It resembles plasticine, but unlike it, it hardens well in air. Contains natural ingredients(cereal flour dough), therefore absolutely safe for children.

7) decoration items cups: coins, flowers, cones, feathers, candies, beads, buttons, ribbons and much, much more.

Cup assembly process

The process of creating a floating mug is not at all complicated, but there are several important nuances, which must be taken into account when creating it.

The main secret in creating a flying bowl is making the right choice tea pair. The cup and saucer should not be too heavy. If you take this condition into account, it will be easier to create a flying bowl!

We construct the base of the floating cup; this is the element that connects the saucer to the cup. To do this we take a wire required length. It is important to note that the distance between the bowl and saucer should be approximately two cups. With these parameters, the flying cup will look most balanced.

Inside the bowl we form a loop from the wire, the diameter of which should be 2-4 cm. This will help to achieve better fixation of the wire in the cup. We twist the second end of the wire into a flat spiral in two or three turns. This way we will get a kind of stand, which we will fix in the saucer.

The tilt radius of the resulting structure should not exceed 45 degrees, otherwise the structure will be unstable!

Polymorphus is the most best material when making a flying cup.

Take a piece of polymorphus and immerse it in hot water for 20 seconds. During this time, the material is converted into soft plastic.

With the resulting plastic, like plasticine, we stick to the base, giving the required form. If the plastic hardens before you finish the job, simply dip it back into hot water. The prepared base will completely harden within 15 minutes.

If you don’t have this material on hand, you can use modeling compound. An alternative to these two materials is masking tape, which is simply wrapped around the wire base. Or you can wrap the wire with felt or other fabric, after coating it with glue.

An important aspect is to constantly try on the base on a saucer with a cup in order to spot any flaws in time!

You should pay special attention to the edge of your cup in the place where the structure will be attached!

In this place it is necessary to make a kind of step in the form of a support. This way the structure will hold much more securely.

When the base is ready, you can begin fixing it on the cup. Lubricate with glue all surfaces of the base in contact with the saucer and cup. Press firmly and hold for 3-5 minutes. Don't forget to glue a step to support the cup!

We fix the flying cup on soft objects in the desired direction and leave it in this position for 5 hours. During this time, the glue will dry well and securely fix the resulting floating bowl.

When the floating cup is well glued, you need to check how stable it is.

If the saucer is not able to hold the cup, then it is necessary to reduce the radius of the structure until it becomes stable.

The last stage of making a flying bowl is the most interesting and creative. Decorating a spill cup! Apply adhesive gel to the decorative elements and glue them.

It is better to glue the large elements first, and glue the smaller ones last. This will hide small visible defects and gaps between elements.

After all the decorations are glued, you need to let the cup stand for 5 hours so that the glue dries.

The process of assembling a flying bowl is discussed in detail in the master class

Crafts in the “frozen waterfall” style serve as a magnificent interior decoration. An example would be a do-it-yourself floating cup; the master classes in this article will introduce you in detail to all the stages of creating such an unusual thing.

Inexhaustible streams

An impromptu stream of water, as well as streams of money, flowers and other objects that personify prosperity, abundance, and profit can “flow” from a floating cup.

A waterfall looks the most natural, which is why many people prefer this “natural” look of a floating cup for decoration.

Let's look at how to simulate flowing water from a floating cup using the example of the next master class.

Components:

  • shells, pebbles, sea stars and other marine decorative items;
  • artificial greenery - leaves, twigs;
  • cup, saucer;
  • glue "Titan";
  • heat gun and glue sticks;
  • 1.5 liter plastic bottle made of transparent or blue plastic;
  • scissors.

Cut two long parts from the bottle with scissors as in the photo.

Bring each part in turn to gas stove and hold it over it so that the plastic begins to deform and take on a smooth, sinuous shape. Top and bottom plastic pieces need to be modeled in such a way that they are flat and fit well into the cup and saucer.

Carefully and thickly glue the first blank with “Titanium” and glue it so that one end is inside the cup and the other is in the saucer. Using the same principle, glue the second part with one end to the outer part of the cup and the other to the saucer. Using some auxiliary stands, secure the structure until it dries completely.

Then form “water”. Slowly pour Titan glue.

Note! If the glue drips too quickly, you will need to correct it from the bottom up with a wooden stick.

The glue will “cover” the plastic, and thanks to its transparent texture and bubbles, it will create an imitation of frozen water.

Decorate the saucer with prepared natural material, laying out pebbles and shells in a circle, gluing them either to the “Titan” or using a heat gun. Decorate the cup with the same elements. Arrange the green branches evenly so that the whole composition looks harmonious.

If you are preparing a gift for Easter, you can make a floating cup with eggs.

A step-by-step description of creating such a cup is in the master class below.

Prepare:

  • saucer and cup;
  • fork (or wire);
  • heat gun;
  • empty quail eggs, paints;
  • Easter chickens;
  • artificial flowers;
  • glue;
  • adhesive plaster.

Glue strips of adhesive tape to the bottom of the saucer and to the side of the cup where the stream will “drain” so that the glue will adhere well.

Bend the fork so that its edges fit well to the saucer and cup. Using a heat gun, coat them thoroughly and secure them with stands so that the structure dries well.

Remove the contents from the quail eggs by carefully piercing them with a syringe.

Dry and paint them in the desired color.

Start gluing the eggs, filling the voids between them with flowers and willow branches or whatever you have. Move from bottom to top, forming a “flow”.

You can glue lace ribbons, fluffy chickens, and sisal into the composition.

When gluing, try to cover the entire surface of the “stream” so that there are no gaps.

The finished Easter floating cup will look best on a crocheted napkin.

Magic grains

When thinking about the decor of a kitchen or dining room, they prefer to use some elements related to cereals, nuts, sweets, and spices. Therefore, for kitchen decoration, floating cups look very harmonious with coffee. Appearance and the aroma of coffee beans makes you want to pause, sit down and enjoy a delicious drink.

For lovers of a hot, invigorating drink, we suggest making a steaming cup not in classic look, but slightly unusual. We suggest making a “floating” Turk with coffee flowing into a cup.

You will need:

  • Turk;
  • coffee cup and saucer;
  • thick wire;
  • chocolate acrylic paint;
  • acrylic clear varnish;
  • heat gun;
  • coffee beans.

Not everyone is ready to sacrifice a new Turk for a craft, the old one will not have decorative look, therefore, following the advice of experienced craftswomen, an imitation of a Turk can be easily made from a cheap aluminum cup by attaching to it a small handle made from any available materials.

Apply hot glue to the Turk, while it has hardened, you need to immerse the wire in it, after making a loop for stability.

Fix the wire and wait until it hardens. It is advisable to carefully pour several grains into the still hot glue so that they are slightly immersed in the mass.

Pour hot glue into the cup and, immersing the other end of the wire there, fix it so that it also hardens.

When the entire structure has dried, wrap the wire with a napkin glued with PVA glue, immediately forming the shape of a stream.

Pour hot glue on all sides of the prepared surface, inserting coffee beans evenly into the still warm mass.

Glue that is not covered with grains must be painted with acrylic paint. If it is too thick, you can thin it with acrylic varnish.

Carefully and painstakingly paint the stream from all sides. Ideally you should get a thick stream, similar to hot chocolate or coffee mixed with coffee beans.

To make the entire structure monolithic, you need to glue a saucer to the bottom of the cup.

If you form the shape of the stream perfectly, as the master did in the photo, then the composition will come out magical and absolutely natural.

Such “inexhaustible flows” would be appropriate as New Year's gift. The filler can be natural materials, and coins.

Floating cups with flowers are more suitable for the spring holidays.
